It was as if he had been dumped.

‘Is Amber Mitchell really trying to get the truth for Herman Moss, or is she up to something else? Did Louise Mitchell really play the role of the perpetrator in the accident as Amber Mitchell claims?’

“Mr. Gregory, the information you asked for is here.” One of George Gregory’s subordinates handed George Gregory the materials in his hand and left the office.

George Gregory’s expression became increasingly ghastly as he read the information in his hand. The papers contained evidence the police had so far, and all the evidence pointed to Louise Mitchell.

Even though it was still in the prosecution stage and the case had not yet come to trial, the evidence was enough to let him know that Louise Mitchell was indeed responsible for the car accident.

He thought it was an accident, but it turned out to be his wife’s doing. How much more was Louise Mitchell hiding that he did not know?

Louise Mitchell was still his wife. This was regarding a murder case! No matter what happened to Louise Mitchell, the Gregory family would be dragged into this!

The next day in the detention center, George Gregory looked at Louise Mitchell sitting in front of him.

“Why?” The simple question seemed to represent everything.

Yes, he wanted to ask her why she had done such a thing. He did not need to ask her if she had been wronged because all the information had already given him the answer.

“Shouldn’t you ask me if I’m okay in here? Shouldn’t you tell me you’ll help me get a lawyer and try to get me out?” Louise Mitchell asked as she looked at George Gregory.

“I’m only asking you why you did that. You didn’t need to do that at all!” George Gregory said.

“Didn’t need to?” Louise Mitchell suddenly laughed. “Do you really think I didn’t need to do that?”

His thin lips were pressed into a straight line. If the accident had never happened, he would have married Amber Mitchell no matter how much he quarreled with her. After all, he loved Amber Mitchell and wanted to marry her.

“Was it to marry me or to get Amber Mitchell’s shares in Mitchell Group?” George Gregory asked.

“I won’t answer you. If you don’t want Simon to have a murderer as a mother and the reputation of the Gregory family to be greatly affected, you’d better find a way to help me win this lawsuit again. It should be easy for you,” said Louise Mitchell.

George Gregory’s eyes narrowed sharply. “Are you threatening me?”

“No, I’m just telling you the truth. It’s in the Gregory family’s best interest for me to get acquitted again, isn’t it?” Louise Mitchell said.

“What’s best for the Gregory family isn’t necessarily what I would do. Louise Mitchell, you forgot one thing. I, George Gregory, hate getting threatened the most!” With that said, he turned and left.

Panic flashed across Louise Mitchell’s face. “George Gregory, you’ll regret it if you don’t help me. You’ll definitely regret it!”

He stopped in his tracks and said coldly, “What I regret most is marrying you. You shouldn’t be Simon’s mother. You don’t deserve it!” Louise Mitchell bit her red lip. ‘Regret… He really regrets it!

‘I don’t deserve to be Simon’s mother. Does Amber Mitchell deserve it, then?

‘He’ll never know that Amber Mitchell is Simon’s real mother, and Simon will only have to wait to die.

It’s best if he really dies!’

George Gregory came out of the detention center and got into the car.

The driver respectfully asked, “Mr. Gregory, do you want to go back to Gregory Residence now?”

“No, just drive,” said George Gregory.

Hearing this, the driver began to drive around the town. George Gregory turned to look out the car window at the receding street view.

It was ridiculous that he had always been conceited but was kept in the dark again and again.

He thought he was in control of Louise Mitchell, but she had done more than he thought.

He thought that he would never see Amber Mitchell again and had gotten over Amber Mitchell.

However, a great storm still stirred up in his heart when she appeared in front of him.

When the car drove to an empty road and a figure came into his sight, he shuddered instantly.

That was… Amber Mitchell! “Stop the car!” he said to the driver almost automatically.

When the driver pulled up to the roadside, George Gregory realized that it was the spot where Herman Moss and Amber Mitchell’s car accident had occurred.

Amber Mitchell was standing at the junction with her head down as if she were looking at something in her hand.

George Gregory was suddenly curious about what Amber Mitchell had in her hand.

Almost without thinking much, he got out of the car and walked over to Amber Mitchell.

Amber Mitchell was so focused on what she was holding that she did not notice someone was approaching her.

In her hand was a bracelet that 11erman had given her before he was about to leave.

At that time, he said, “Amber Mitchell, I don’t think I’m going to your wedding. This is my wedding gift to you. I hope you’ll be the most beautiful bride at the time.”

‘Bride… Yeah, I will one day be a bride and… put on this bracelet.’

“Herman…” Amber Mitchell murmured as her eyes got wet again.

However, a voice suddenly rang in her ears. “What’s the matter? Do you miss Herman Moss that much? Would you marry him if he were alive?”

Amber Mitchell paused and instantly looked up at George Gregory, who had stood in front of her at one point. He was dressed in a suit and tie, looking elegant and noble. However, his handsome face was gloomy.

“Yes. I would marry Herman in a heartbeat if he were still alive!” she answered without hesitation. She only regretted that the man who loved her deeply lost his life trying to protect her.

She was the one who died first!

Her statement seemed to trigger George Gregory, and his face became increasingly gloomy as he approached her. He said, “It seems that you’re passionately devoted to him. It’s my fault for hindering you two.” Amber Mitchell frowned. “George Gregory, what are you trying to do?”

‘Yeah, what am I trying to do?’ Even George Gregory had no idea what he was trying to do!

He just saw her standing there, so he could not help getting out of the car and walking up to her. Then, jealousy welled up in his chest when he heard her murmur the name ‘Herman’.

The jealousy was so intense.

It was so intense that he was startled and amused.

He was still jealous of Herman Moss after all these years.

His eyes fell on the diamond bracelet Amber Mitchell was holding. It was a diamond bracelet, and it looked expensive.

He did not remember Amber Mitchell ever owning a bracelet like that. There was also no way Amber Mitchell would buy such a bracelet in her current situation either.

Amber Mitchell had not reclaimed her shares in Mitchell Group. Jason’s wife, Grace, even rented the house she was currently staying in. How could she possibly afford a bracelet that might be worth up to tens of millions of dollars?

A possibility suddenly flashed through his mind.

“Did Herman Moss give you this bracelet?” he blurted out.

Amber Mitchell froze, and her expression stiffened.

George Gregory instantly knew he was right. The jealousy in his heart spread all throughout.

The next moment, he did something beyond his expectation. He snatched the bracelet from her hand.

“What are you doing?” Amber Mitchell was surprised and tried to grab the bracelet, but it was too late.

George Gregory had already gotten the bracelet, and her hand missed.

“What’s the matter? Do you care so much about what Herman Moss gave you?” George Gregory asked coldly.

“Give it back to me!” Amber Mitchell spread out her hand to George Gregory. She spoke with such force while her eyes only stared at the bracelet he was holding.

It was as if all she saw was the bracelet and nothing else.

George Gregory felt an unspeakable frustration. ‘She’s not even looking at me! What do I mean to her?’
