“Martin Weiss… left Emerald City just like that. He didn’t even say goodbye to Kyla,” Grace said emotionally.

“Maybe he’ll be reluctant to leave if he saw her,” said Jason.

“Nevertheless, Kyla finally managed to survive. It would be a shame for her and Martin Weiss to miss out on each other like this,” Grace said regretfully.

“So, what are you going to do?” Jason asked.

“I think I’ll tell Kyla the truth when she recovers in two months. Kyla rejected Martin Weiss back then because she was worried about her health. She was afraid that Martin Weiss wouldn’t be able to stand it and would die with her if she was no longer around. But if the transplant is successful, she can live much longer.”

“Do you think Kyla will choose to be with Martin Weiss if she knows the truth?” Jason asked in reply.

“Kyla will do that as long as she loves Martin Weiss,” said Grace. Martin Weiss covered all of Kyla’s and the newborn’s hospitalization expenses. He even topped up enough money in their account.

Kyla was getting better every day. Her sallow skin had also gradually restored to its normal complexion.

The baby was still in the neonatal intensive care unit, but doctors brought them good news every day.

If all went well, the child would be able to leave the intensive care unit and return to Kyla’s side in another month.

Every day, Mrs. Corbyn would take photos of the little one and show them to her daughter in the ward.

Nelson Corbyn often flipped through the photos of his sister on his grandmother’s phone and spoke like a little adult, wanting to take good care of his sister.

After Lina found out that Kyla had given birth, she hurried to the hospital to visit Kyla. She said with a chuckle, “Thank God you gave birth smoothly. I’m going to be a godmother again. We have more children in our ‘kindergarten’ now!”

Kyla could not help laughing at Lina’s words, but her only regret was that Martin Weiss was not here.

She learned from Grace that Martin Weiss had left Emerald City and returned to L City. Maybe that was the end of their relationship.

Amber Mitchell made a video call to congratulate Kyla after learning she had given birth safely and passed the crisis.

“Congratulations on giving birth to a daughter,” said Amber Mitchell.

“Thank you. I’ll let you meet my two children when you come to Emerald City or when I go to Deer City,” said Kyla.

“Okay. I envy you. You have a son and a daughter now. If only I…” Amber Mitchell stopped short.

The baby who died after she gave birth to them had always been a sharp thorn in her heart. In all these years, she dared not think too much about the baby and neither was she willing to. “Amber Mitchell, you can find happiness again after the matter with the Mitchell family is over. I think you’ll have a child of your own someday!” said Kyla.

Amber Mitchell smiled nonchalantly. “I’ve never thought about it. As for finding happiness… I found it, but I didn’t realize it until Herman died. I didn’t know he loved me that much. I would’ve been so happy if I had chosen him.”

However, the wrong choice ruined her life.

Maybe she would never be happy again. However, she would seek justice and the truth for herself and Herman no matter what!

Hearing this, Kyla did not want to remind Amber Mitchell of her sad past, so she asked, “How is it going with the Mitchell family?”

Amber Mitchell said, “The trial will be held in half a month, and all the preparations are currently in place. Grace’s lawyer friends in Deer City are also helping me with this. There’s enough evidence to convict the three of them!”

“You’re finally getting what you want,” said Kyla. Thinking of how her best friend had suffered in the mental hospital, her heart could not help but ache.

It would take a lot of willpower not to get tortured into becoming a lunatic in that environment!

“Yes, finally…” Amber Mitchell said emotionally. She would go all out for her goal! After ending the phone call, Amber Mitchell picked up the documents nearby and looked through them.

They were the Moss family’s investigation reports of the accident, including detailed data of the car at the time, its condition, the road they drove on that day, the restaurant where she and Herman Moss were, and the people in the restaurant…

S These reports probably contained more information than the reports the police had.

Amber Mitchell’s beautiful eyes narrowed as she caught sight of one of the photos tucked away in the file. She seemed to recall something…

Louise Mitchell finally met George Gregory at the detention center.

She had been waiting for almost a month, and he finally came to see her.

“So you finally came to see me. I thought my husband was going to leave me here to die,” Louise Mitchell said sarcastically.

“Simon is sick and needs a blood transfusion. He underwent a transfusion with the same blood type from the blood bank, but it didn’t work out so well. The doctor said it’ll be better for his biological parents to provide the blood,” said George Gregory with intense fatigue in his eyes.

Simon suddenly fell ill. Simon had type-B blood, while he had type-A blood. There was no way he could donate his blood to Simon. The only possibility was to have Louise Mitchell donate her blood.

However, Louise Mitchell replied, “What’s the matter? You only came looking for me because you want my blood? Would you never have come if this hadn’t happened?”

George Gregory did not answer but looked at her indifferently.

Louise Mitchell suddenly sneered. “George Gregory, that’s enough. Don’t you want something from me? Won’t you even tell me a lie?”

“You’re Simon’s mother,” he only spoke indifferently.

It was as if he was reminding her of her status as a mother and telling her that she had to donate blood to treat the child.

She would save Simon if he were her child. However, Simon was Amber Mitchell’s child! She was stuck in the detention center because of Amber Mitchell. She was reluctant to use her blood to save Amber Mitchell’s child!

“I’ll file a request for temporary Stephensonl so that you can go to Simon’s hospital and donate blood to him. We can’t delay his treatment. The longer we delay it, the more dangerous it’ll be for him,” George Gregory said as he got up to leave.

It was as if he was only informing Louise Mitchell. She did not even need to make the decision.

“I can donate blood to Simon, but I won’t do it if I’m not acquitted!” Louise Mitchell said suddenly.

George Gregory paused and looked at Louise Mitchell in disbelief. “You’re going to kill him!”

Louise Mitchell sarcastically countered, “Why aren’t you saying that you’re killing me? George Gregory, you stood by and refused to help the Mitchell family. Why didn’t you think about what would happen to me?”

“You’re Simon’s mother!” He reminded again.

“But you’re my husband, aren’t you? The kid will blame you if he ever pursues the matter. You neglected me first, so it’s not your place to accuse me of neglecting the child!” Louise Mitchell snapped.

Looking at George Gregory’s ghastly expression, she suddenly felt a sense of pleasure after getting revenge. George Gregory did not care about her, but he cared about his only son!

However, he would never know that Amber Mitchell was the mother of his son. The child was now seriously ill. It seemed that George Gregory would get her out no matter what for the sake of the child.

Amber Mitchell probably did not expect her own son to be the one to save Louise Mitchell!

The wind at night was cold. Amber Mitchell came out of the Moss family’s house. She had gotten the information she wanted from the Moss family and made up her mind.

It was just that it was going to take some time to find that person after so many years. Besides, there was probably not enough evidence for a conviction!

While she was deep in thought, a car suddenly stopped in front of Amber Mitchell, and George Gregory appeared in front of her.

Amber Mitchell looked warily at George Gregory and stepped back.

George Gregory’s dark eyes narrowed slightly. “Are you afraid of me?”

“I’m not afraid but disgusted,” answered Amber Mitchell. When one was disgusted with someone, one would not want to get close to them. One would subconsciously keep one’s distance. Even looking at them could make one feel uncomfortable.

George Gregory’s expression instantly turned ghastly as soon as she said that.

‘Disgusted…’ It sounded so harsh when she uttered that word.

She had once said to him in her sweet melodious voice, “George, I’ll probably never hate you.”

However, she now said she was disgusted with him!

“You’re disgusted with me?” He moved close to her.

She sneered. “Shouldn’t I hate you? If possible, I hope you never appear in front of me because I don’t want to see you at all!”

He felt a surge of fury that he did not understand. It had been many years since he had been this furious. It seemed he had not gotten so angry since he avoided hearing about her when she was first sent to the mental hospital.

The fury exploded in his chest so quickly that he shocked himself!

“Amber Mitchell, you’d better not tell me that again!” he warned coldly.
