Chapter 1100 – The Scarlet Vengeance: Justice of a Framed Beauty Novel (Grace & Jason)

Would Martin Weiss come? If Martin Weiss came, it would at least show that he had feelings for Kyla. If he did not, it meant he intended to get over Kyla.

However, Grace eventually heard the busy signal at the other end of the line.

Martin Weiss hung up without saying anything.

Grace’s heart sank.

‘Is Martin Weiss not coming?’

Jason, who was standing next to Grace, asked, “What’s the matter? Is Martin Weiss not coming?”

She said, “He just hung up. I know I shouldn’t guilt-trip him, so I only asked him to come over and didn’t say anything else. I thought perhaps Martin Weiss would feel sorry for Kyla and be willing to save her after seeing his own baby!”

Jason said, “He’ll come. He’ll come if he doesn’t want to live in regret for the rest of his life.”

Grace listened skeptically.

Time ticked by, but Martin Weiss did not come until the nurse carried the baby out.

The baby needed to be rushed to the neonatal unit. Grace’s eyes turned red again as she looked at the baby in the incubator. The baby’s skin was red all over. ·

The little human life was intubated. Whether the baby could survive depended on their will and strength.

Kyla had risked her life for the baby. “It’s a girl. 1.3 kg,” the nurse said the sex and weight of the baby.

The weight shocked Grace. Even Jasper weighed more than this baby girl when the triplets were born.

The lower the weight, the lower the survival rate!

Being a family member, Mrs. Corbyn followed the nurse to handle all procedures to save the baby.

Grace and Jason continued waiting outside the operating room.

Grace knew they needed to observe the patient’s condition for about half an hour after a C-section to make sure nothing was wrong with the mother before wheeling her out of the operating room.

However, Kyla was not wheeled out of the operating room even half an hour later. Grace immediately wondered aloud, “What’s the matter? Is Kyla having some adverse reaction after surgery, so the doctor is now rescuing her?”

She surmised that the possibility was not out of the question due to Kyla’s current state of health.

Jason pondered for a moment before making a phone call. Moments later, he said to Grace after ending the call, “Martin Weiss is here.”

“What?” Grace was taken aback. “Martin Weiss is here? Where is he? Why didn’t I see him?” “He’s in the operating room,” said Jason.

Grace was even more confused. Under normal circumstances, no one was allowed in the operating room unless they were the medical staff. Besides, she and Jay had been here all throughout. They had never seen Martin Weiss enter the operating room.

Jason explained, “He entered the operating room through a different passage. Besides, he didn’t go to Kyla’s operating room. He’s in the operating room next to Kyla’s, ready to have his liver cut.”

Grace’s eyes widened in shock. “Is Martin Weiss going to donate his liver to Kyla again?”

“Yes, he intends to save Kyla-even at the risk of his own life,” said Jason.

Grace suddenly felt the urge to cry. It was like what Jay had said before. Martin Weiss would not stand idly by if Kyla was dying.

However, she did not expect Martin Weiss to resolutely lie on the operating room table at such a time.

Even if some love was forgotten due to hypnosis, a lot of it would have already been etched in the bones and blood. It was why Martin Weiss chose to save Kyla.

Grace and Jason waited outside the operating room. As time went by, Grace became increasingly nervous.

‘Will the operation be a success? Is Martin Weiss and Kyla going to be okay?

‘If Kyla is rescued but something happens to Martin Weiss, Kyla will probably be unhappy in the future.

After all, Kyla’s greatest wish is for Martin Weiss to live a good life.’

Sometime later, even Mrs. Corbyn had returned to the waiting area outside the operating room door.

The operating room door finally opened, and the doctor walked out from inside..

“Doctor, how’s my daughter?” Mrs. Corbyn hurried forward and asked. After she returned, Grace had told her that Kyla was having a liver transplant.

The two operations were done together because the sooner the liver transplant was performed, the lower the risk of the other organs in Kyla’s body being affected.

“Although the operation is successful, we need to continue observation after the patient wakes up,” the doctor replied.

Mrs. Corbyn was finally relieved.

Grace asked, “What about Martin Weiss? How is he?”

“He’s healthy, but having a liver transplant twice will cause some damage to his body. He’ll need a long time to recuperate his body. He should be fine as long as he makes it past the critical 24 hours,” the doctor said.

Grace heaved a sigh of relief, hoping Martin Weiss could survive the 24-hour crisis.

“Oh, by the way…” The doctor paused. “Mr. Weiss said he hopes you won’t tell Miss Corbyn that he donated his liver to her. He doesn’t want her to know, so he hopes those in the know can keep it a secret.”

Mrs. Corbyn and Grace looked at each other, not expecting Martin Weiss to not let Kyla know after risking his life for her.

Kyla and Martin Weiss were soon wheeled into the isolation wards. Kyla required 72 hours of observation, while Martin Weiss required only 24 hours.

The two were in different wards but were only separated by a wall. Grace stood in the hallway and watched Kyla and Martin Weiss through the transparent glass window.

The two loved each other but were now… so far apart!

“What’s on your mind?” Jason looked down and asked Grace.

“Why was Martin Weiss willing to donate his liver to save Kyla?” Grace murmured.

“Because he loves Kyla,” said Jason.

“But wasn’t he hypnotized? How deep can his feelings for Kyla be even if he later developed feelings for her again?” she asked.

“Even if some feelings are hypnotized, your body will still remember them. There’ll be joy, heartache, reluctance to see them in pain, fear of losing them… Martin Weiss doesn’t want Kyla to leave this world, so he could only gamble his life to save Kyla,” Jason murmured.

Grace was silent. Martin Weiss’s love might be deeper than she imagined.

When Martin Weiss woke up on the third day, Grace and Jason went into the isolation ward wearing isolation gowns.

“Your and Kyla’s operations were successful. You can transfer to the regular ward in 24 hours. Kyla will take longer. She needs 72 hours,” said Grace.

“Has she woken up?” Martin Weiss asked hoarsely.

“Not yet, but the doctor said she’ll wake up today,” said Grace.

“Don’t tell her that the liver in her body… is mine,” reminded Martin Weiss.

“Since you saved Kyla, why won’t you tell her?” Grace asked in confusion.

“Because I want a clean break-up with her,” said Martin Weiss.

“But how can you have a clean break-up now that you have two children together?” asked Grace.

Martin Weiss closed his eyes a little tiredly. “Then we’ll have a clean break-up… except for the children…”

He had struggled in this hopeless relationship for years. He did not want to continue struggling in this relationship.

He wanted to break up while he could!

After Kyla woke up, no one mentioned the liver transplant to her. They only told her that the doctor gave her a minor liver surgery to keep her liver condition under control.

The second day after Kyla was transferred to a regular ward, Martin Weiss was discharged from the hospital.

By the time Grace knew, Martin Weiss had been escorted out of Emerald City by car.
