“Don’t give me any ideas Thane.”
“Spare us from the details Cyrus.”
Who’s Right?
Ayla flares up.
I don’t want
Mummbled noises outside tell me Thane is home. I can hear Raven’s footsteps descend the stairwell and anxiety I confrontation. I am also not well right now. I sit up in my nest and check my phone. Five hours have gone by and I haven’t heard a single word out of him or any other shifter. I toss my phone in the nest and put my hands over my face, trying to keep myself from losing it.
The door starts to creak open and I know that I need to uncover my face to see him, but I can’t bring myself to do it.
or behind me. This room is starting to feel too small
“Why aren’t you asleep?” Thane asks while walking into my nesting room and closing the door despite its large size.
I remove my hands and see him for the first time since the explosion happened. He is exhausted. Thane looks as if he spent time on a battlefield and I don’t need to question the red on his clothing. I need to know if it belongs to her or not. The fact I don’t know the answer to the question is slowly angering me.
“Why do you think?” I ask, hating to, but I need to get an understanding if he even knows he screwed up.
|”Because you have been through a very traumatic experience and your mind is probably anything but quiet.” No, he doesn’t understand.
“No, that is why I couldn’t stop throwing up earlier.” I had nothing left to throw up, but apparently, my nerves didn’t get the memo.
“How are you feeling now?” Thane takes a few steps toward me, but the look on my face must make him stop.
“That question has a very lengthy answer that I am not sure I can give you right now.” I want to get it all out there, probably pake some more, and figure out how to move forward, but I don’t know if he can handle it any more than I can.
“Can you try?” Thane speaks quietly as he intently watches me from the center of the room. He crouches down low as if I am a wounded animal L probably look like one.
