I see a number of vampires and dragons step back, so I decide to link Lola, hoping she has unblocked me now. ‘Take out the traitorous dragons first if you can, before they fly off’. ‘Thanks for the tip dad’ she replies, before the dome surrounding us suddenly vanishes into thin air, only for it to reappear around the battlefield and caging them in now. Locking us out, rather than keeping us in as it was doing earlier. ‘Not what I meant!! Let us in!!’. But my plea falls on deaf ears. Everyone outside of the dome is left staring incredulously at the scene in front of us. I knew some of the things she could do from our training sessions, but some of it is new even to me. She has shifted to her Lycan form and is ripping into the vampires one by one, who are all trying to put their claws or fangs into her, but she is fighting them all off effectively. I am baffled to see her switching between dragon and wolf form continuously within the blink of an eye, and using that as an advantage. Using her Lycan speed to lash out and get up close, but shift into her impenetrable dragon as soon as any vampire tries to get his claws into her, as they won’t be able to penetrate her skin. Never in my LIFE have I seen someone using their ability to shift as a weapon. Then again, I have never seen anyone with 2 alternate forms either, to be fair. Although it is terrifying me to see her fight thousands of enemies, I feel insanely proud at how smart and strong my daughter is.
As she rips into vampire after vampire, many of them are starting to back up against the walls of the dome. I am positive they would flee if they could. But – she gave them a fair warning. As many of the vampires are retreating, the traitorous dragons shift and join the battle. Although she is an ice dragon, she is severely outnumbered and not immune to another dragon’s breath. The vampires were – although in greater numbers – relatively easy opponents for her, but the dragons have me worrying for my daughter’s life once again. To top it off, she is currently in her Lycan form. She will never be able to defeat them as a Lycan, so I hope she shifts soon. And even then, it will be a tight call. ‘Let us in Lola! There are too many!’, but I get no reply again. The dragons are chasing towards her and trying to circle her. But, the only advantage a Lycan has over a dragon, her speed is making it impossible for them to cage her in. She bolts behind one of the dragons, and as she jumps up towards his back she shifts to her dragon form right before impact. Within the blink of an eye, her icy tail stabs him in the chest, the dragon dropping to the floor lifelessly.
The dragon hasn’t even started to fall down, before she launches herself onto the next dragon. Evading the other dragon’s breaths, she grips her tail around his neck in a chokehold and shoots a blast of ice towards the other dragons. It effectively hits the first 2 dragons, but the others managed to dodge the ice in time. As the dragons fire their breath towards her, she uses the dragon she is strangling as a shield, before effectively hitting another few dragons with her ice beams. The dragon she was choking loses his battle for air and drops to the ground, with her tail still wrapped around its neck. Right before hitting the ground, she removes her tail and uses the body of the dead dragon to cushion her blow. Blood is splattering out of him because of her crushing weight, as she is bigger than most of the dragons she is fighting. To my absolute horror, Lola shifts back to her human form. Why on earth would you fight dragons in your human form?!!! ‘Lola don’t be stupid, shift!!! I don’t want to lose you!!’. ‘Trust me, dad. I am not losing you either’ she smiles at me reassuringly from within the dome. I gulp, trying to have faith in my daughter, but finding it extremely difficult to imagine her fighting multiple dragons in her human form. And to top it off, some of the vampires are returning to the battle, hoping to tip the scales with a combined attack on her.
If she is scared in any shape or form, she isn’t showing it. All the while she is only showing her opponents a confident, devious smirk. The glint in her eyes tells me she is enjoying this even, and I find myself wondering what my daughter’s kryptonite is. She has incinerated half of her opponents here, without even using her freaky explosion thing, which could probably finish the battle immediately. Or any of her other insane powers. She is just enjoying this as a form of training it seems. “Just to show you how pathetic you all are, I will remain in my human form from now on” she taunts the remaining opponents. Which, by now, are about roughly 30 dragons and roughly 400 vampires. My heart drops at the statement. Another dozen vampires enter the battle after her statement, but the majority remains a spectator. Many have their eyes trained on Lola, nearly bulging from their sockets. The dragons shoot their breath towards Lola and, despite trusting her, I flinch at the sight. She isn’t fast enough to dodge as a human. But to my surprise, she doesn’t even try to dodge it. Instead, she holds up both her hands. The flames start to form big balls of fire, before she moves her hands in a spiraling motion and firing them back at the vampires who were trying to attack her, killing them on the spot. I hear loud gasps all around me, and I know exactly why. Controlling the elements is exceptionally rare as it is, but controlling another dragon’s breath is impossible. It has something to do with the fact that a dragon’s breath doesn’t contain the same chemical elements as normal fire, or something. It’s impossible. And yet, I am watching it with my very eyes.
Drake POV
She then starts attacking the dragons with her powers. Waving her hand in a brushing off motion, several dragons are sent flying into the walls of the dome. She then clenches her hand, like she is trying to wring something out. I hear another few dragons coughing and gasping for air, before they drop to the ground lifelessly. Only 6 dragons remain, of which one I now see is Lucian, the man she was mated to. That f*cking prick! Lola moves Lucian aside from the other dragons with a twist of the wrists, before pushing her hands forward with her palms open. An ice blizzard shoots from her hand and crashes into the 5 remaining dragons beside Lucian. “Saving the best for last, MATE” Lola spits at him, before twisting her hands and dropping him from the sky. “Bow for me b*tch” she bellows. The dragon roars and huffs in anger, but it is being restrained by invisible forces. He shifts back to his human form, whether willingly or not, I am unsure. With a twist of the wrist, Lucian is kneeling before her, against his own will. “You… F*cking… Mongrel!!” he squeezes out. His words are laced with pure unadulterated hate, and I can’t help but wonder what my daughter has ever done to deserve this. “You f*cking prick!!! How DARE you speak to her like that. And to think she is your mate!!!” Damon yells. He seems to be as seething as I am.
“She.. Is not.. My mate!!!” he grits out, and Damon and I both roar in return. “Good, that will make this a lot easier” Lola retorts calmly, with a dangerous glint in her eyes. She lets Justice take control and shifts. Justice is towering over Lucian, huffing and puffing as dragons do when they are angry. She doesn’t strike however, she is just starting intently and breathing hard, as if this is causing her a great deal of agony. And I am sure it does. All of a sudden, I see the unmistakable black Lycans with golden paws of Zeke and Zane standing right beside Justice. How the hell did they do that? I somehow completely forgot that I had seen them do this yesterday, and I had been meaning to ask them. Justice looks over at the Lycans, huffing and puffing some more, but they don’t seem too afraid of her. They should be, though. They crouch down to the ground in surrender, which Justice seems to appreciate as she stops the huffing. They slowly get back up, and she bends down to be eye level with the Lycans. They nuzzle their snouts against hers while purring. The sight of it is something else. I know that sounds weird, as my mate was a Lycan too, but it’s different to watch someone else do it. Especially your daughter.
As they nudge Justice, she seems to be momentarily distracted and the dome, as well as her hold on Lucian seem to have disappeared. “LOLA WATCH..” but before I can finish, Lucian has shifted back to his dragon. Within the blink of an eye his tail has lashed out and blood is splattering everywhere. I search Justice’s body frantically for any signs of blood, but to my great relief, I see nothing. Justice lets out the most ear piercing roar I have ever heard from a dragon, right before Zeke falls limp to the ground, covered in blood. Within a split second Justice has her tail wrapped around the dragon’s throat, squeezing the air from his lungs. The dragon is thrashing his tail around frantically, before Justice plunges her fangs into his body and he falls to the ground, shifting back to his human form. I am unsure whether he is dead or just unconscious, but I have no time to dwell on that now. I rush towards my daughter, as do a lot of our warriors, but she lets out another blazing roar in warning for us all not to come any closer. I guess Justice has accepted the Lycans as her mates, and as one of them is down, her instincts to protect are kicking in. I am not sure whether Zeke or Zane is down, but the other Lycan is whimpering and nudging his unmoving brother, the sight of it is heartbreaking. “Lola, Justice, please, you have to let us help” I plead with her, but her nostrils are still flaring in warning. She shifts back and I hear her speak to the other Lycan “teleport him to your hospital, now”. The Lycan is looking conflicted between Lucian and the remaining vampires who are closing in again, and his fallen brother, as if unsure whether or not he should be going. “NOW ZANE!” Lola yells, causing him to whimper, before nudging his brother and them both disappearing into thin air.
