“Okay.” Amber Mitchell nodded.

The bodyguard offered to help Amber Mitchell carry her luggage.

After Amber Mitchell left the ward, she realized there were about 20 bodyguards walking with her to the hospital’s entrance.

“Uh… I’m just going to the hospital’s entrance. I don’t need so many people to accompany me, do I?”

Amber Mitchell said. After all, there were too many people to fit in one elevator.

“Young Madam said it’s necessary. The entrance of the hospital is a little chaotic right now,” the bodyguard said.

‘Chaotic?’ Amber Mitchell’s eyes gleamed.

‘Are there a lot of reporters out there?’

When she arrived at the hospital’s entrance, she found that reporters weren’t the only people here.

There were also members of the Mitchell family.

The man she was supposed to call her father was saying how much he loved her and how happy he was that his daughter was finally a normal person after years of treatment! He also said he wanted to take her home and take good care of his daughter’s health. He had been distressed over how his daughter would often harm herself over the years because of her mental illness. Now that his daughter was normal, he believed she would not harm herself again.

Amber Mitchell could hardly listen any longer.

The man was insincere to her mother back then. He had even indifferently ordered their servants, “The young miss isn’t in her right mind. Tie her up. I’m taking her to the hospital for treatment!”

She kept struggling and screaming. “I’m not ill. I’m not insane. I’m normal!”

However, her father only said coldly, “Sick people always say they’re not sick. You’re mentally ill!”

The statement seemed to have knocked her to hell.

She had always known that her father did not love her and even hated her, but she never expected someone to be so wicked.

As soon as Mr. Mitchell saw Amber Mitchell walk over, he immediately assumed a fatherly demeanor.

“Amby, you finally came out. I was just about to go in to get you. You’ve finally recovered. All those years of treatment didn’t go to waste. Come on, let’s go home. While you were away all these years, your mom had your room cleaned every day, expecting you to come home as soon as possible.”

“My mom?” Amber Mitchell sneered. “My mom died when I was three years old. Did my mom come back from the dead?”

The statement immediately made the atmosphere awkward.

The smile on Mr. Xia’s face froze as well. In the past, he would have slapped her. However, with so many reporters in front of him, he had to finish the show.

“Your biological mother died when you were three years old. Your stepmother isn’t your biological mother, but she treats you like her own daughter. She’s always been worried about you in the past few years. She often cries at home.”

Mrs. Mitchell rushed forward with red eyes and said, “Amby, you’ve suffered so much. I’ll treat you better from now on. From the day I married into the Mitchell family, I’ve thought of you as my own daughter.”

The smile on Amber Mitchell’s face became increasingly sarcastic. “So, you want to steal my mom’s fortune, husband, and even daughter?”

Mrs. Xia’s expression froze as her face paled and reddened.

The smile on Mr. Xia’s face finally gave way. “What are you talking about? Should you say that to someone who has worked so hard to raise you?”

Mrs. Mitchell also looked down and sobbed as if she had been wronged.

It now seemed like the Mitchell family was innocent while Amber Mitchell was the guilty one.

The reporters were filming this scene with their cameras.

Louise Mitchell was secretly smug. She had expected Amber Mitchell to react this way.

Public opinion online would probably change.

“How could you think that way, Sis? In fact… Mommy and Daddy have been in love since way back then, but they separated because of an incident. When Mommy found Daddy, she saw that he already had his own family, so she kept her feelings to herself and didn’t bother you until your mom died. Mommy was sorry that you lost your mother at such a young age, so she wanted to love you as much as your own mother loved you.”

Louise Mitchell’s speech was an apparent response to online comments that said Mrs. Mitchell was a homewrecker.

“Is that so? I don’t know how much of her feelings she kept to herself, though. If that was truly the case, she wouldn’t have had an affair and slept with Dad when he was still married. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have a two-year age gap,” retorted Amber Mitchell.

Louise Mitchell’s expression changed slightly, but she remained calm. “Sis, we’re a family no matter what. We’re here to take you home. Our family has suffered a lot for you these years. The doctor said you didn’t know what you were doing whenever you lost control, Sis. You have a lot of misunderstandings about us. I’ll explain them to you one by one.”

Louise Mitchell went forward to help Amber Mitchell as she spoke, but the bodyguards beside Amber Mitchell stopped her.

Louise Mitchell grumbled, “Sis, would you rather trust outsiders than your own family? Or… is someone trying to use you to go against the Mitchell family?”

Her remarks were aimed at those who were helping Amber Mitchell.

Amber Mitchell’s gaze went cold. “Trusting my family is why I ended up like this. Outsiders rescued me and proved that I’m a normal person. Tell me who I’m supposed to believe now.”

“Sis, you’ve misunderstood. You were ill at the time. The doctor’s diagnosis report was clear, and there was more than one doctor involved. It’s impossible that they were all wrong in their diagnosis, right?”

Just then, someone among the reporters exclaimed, “Gosh, a doctor confessed online that the Mitchell family bribed them, so they diagnosed Amber Mitchell to be mentally ill without going. through an examination.”

“Gosh, really?”

“If that’s true, did the Mitchell family intend to drive their eldest daughter insane?”

“Are the conspiracy theories online true? Did the Mitchell family imprison Amber Mitchell in a mental hospital and made her out to be a mental patient even though she was fine just to gain her shares?”

The Mitchell family turned pale at the conversation around  them.

The reporters even raised their microphones and asked them all kinds of tough questions.

A reporter asked the Mitchell family what they thought of the doctor’s confession on the website while displaying the page on their phone.

Louise Mitchell grabbed the phone and looked at the words on 1.

The doctor who confessed was Amber Mitchell’s attending doctor, and the doctor even listed their financial transactions with the Mitchell family. They even claimed that they had audio recordings.

The recordings had yet to be released, but Louise Mitchell was already covered in a cold sweat.

‘What the hell is going on here? Didn’t I tell the doctor to lay low for a while? I made it clear I’d pay them a good sum of money once this is over.’

However, this confession had now become evidence against the Mitchell family!

A car drove up to the hospital’s entrance. The bodyguards at Amber Mitchell’s side immediately formed a path to let her get into the car as soon as they saw it.

Even if the reporters wanted to interview Amber Mitchell, they were blocked by the bodyguards.

Amber Mitchell got into the car and saw Grace.

Grace did not seem surprised by everything happening outside the car.

“Did you know this was going to happen?” Amber Mitchell asked.

“I didn’t know the Mitchell family was coming until a while ago. It’s why I got the bodyguards to escort you over,” said Grace.

“The doctor’s confession online…”

Grace said, “We found the doctor when you were having your consultation. He confessed because we already had evidence against him. If he confessed, he could at least face a shorter sentence. When I learned that the Mitchell family was coming over, I asked the doctor to make an online statement to humiliate the Mitchell family further.”

If the Mitchell family had not come over today, the doctor’s statement would only have been published a few days later.

Amber Mitchell looked at Grace with gratitude. She had helped her more than she expected.

She had expected to be on her own after the consultation, but now… things seemed a little different than expected.

“Thank you,” she said.
