Calvin admitted right to her
“I also won’t do it again, as long as you don’t just vanish into thin air.”
Calvin stated,
“Please don’t do that to me. That is what started all of this, my… obsession with finding you and it getting all twisted up. I couldn’t deal with the fact that it was my fault, and so turned it on you. want to do that anymore, never, ever again.”
“How can you prove to me, you’ll keep your word?”
she asked now.
Ys Pures 3
Ah, there it is, what she wants. For him to give his word and prove he’ll keep it,
“I can do that.”
Wil finally interrupted them.
“A live tracking app, one with real??ime GPS tracking. I’ve looked into them. Some of them have what’s called Geofencing. That’s where you can set virtual boundaries and receive alerts when one crosses them.
“I will give you a phone and set it up so you can personally keep track of Calvin every minute of the day. Not on your personal phone, so he can’t track your every move, a phone you may leave at the house all the time. It’ll never move that way and Calvin won’t know when you’re home or not. Would that work Marilyn?”
Her eyes moved right towards him now, and he saw her thinking about it, and likely knew about apps like that. Hell, she could have one on a phone or tablet that the boys used, due to her amnesia. He didn’t know, but anything was possible.
“Which app?”
she finally asked him.
“I don’t know, we could sit down and find one that suits you, Calvin?”
he questioned. He’d brought this very thing up with him only yesterday, so he could monitor him and make sure he wasn’t sneaking off to hunt Marilyn or the boys. He’d not much liked it, but it would be used for the very reason Calvin had stated.
Because one party didn’t trust the other, so had a desire to keep track of their every move.
“I’m fine with it, if that is what Marilyn wants, and whatever Geofencing she wants as well. Be it inside the state of Virginia or just me leaving Texas, I don’t care. I’ll agree, if she promises not to disappear, and not to instate another restraining order that will include the boys.”
Wil turned and looked at Marilyn. She was genuinely thinking about it and he knew it, she thought about it for several minutes and then nodded her head.
“I agree, if he,”
she pointed at Calvin.
“in anyway breaches it or sends anyone my way, I’m done. There will be no more meetings, just court and likely jail time for him. No more will I place nice with either of you.”
Marilyn
She sat with Liam and had brunch in that hotel, while Wil took Calvin out to buy a new phone and get that app they’d all agreed on installed on it. She would not put it on her phone, but knowing where he was at all times that was something she did want.
“What are you playing at Marilyn?”
Liam asked her as they ate.
“I needed to see if he would get angry and attack me, if I defied him and what he wanted.”
She answered. simply it’s what she’d told him she was going to do. All she’d done was do it.
“Did you really tell the boys who he was to them?”
“I did.”
She nodded.
“They’ve always wanted to know who their dad was, and now I know, so now they know. It’s only right, but then I needed to know he could be trusted not to hurt them. I read up on the best way to trigger anger in an abusive person.
“Those two bodyguards showed a full lack of my trust in him, and that I am not only willing to protect myself from him, but that I will be doing that as well. It also showed him that I am in control of my life, and he is not. No abuser likes losing control; therefore, it makes them angry.
“Because one is now willing to stand up to him. The threating of him with you reinstating that restraining order and adding the children to it. Defies him completely, denies him what he really wants, which he’s shown to me already by tracking the children, attaching himself to their school.
“Again, this should have triggered anger if not an outburst of yelling, or ranting and raving. And my stating that I’d leave and take the boys and move away, just vanish completely. Just like I know Marrin did to get away from him, brings it all together and should tell him I am willing to once again leave him, only this time I’ll take the twins as well.
“It should have set him off into a fit of rage or make him come completely to his senses, if he’s not abusive at all, because it would show him that his actions are only going to drive me away, and he’ll never get what he wants.”
Liam shook his head and sighed.
“It didn’t set him off into a rage though.”
“No, it did not.”
She admitted.
“He kind of looked mortified to me, and then he asked me not to do that.”
“Asked? More like he pleaded with you.”
Liam half smiled.
“I probably should have brought Bridie with me, she deals with this all the time.”
“I also noticed that Wil stopped trying to contain him at one point and just let Calvin say whatever he wanted to. Either Wil thought it was a lost cause, or he saw that Calvin was actually coming to the realisation that his actions were indeed very wrong, and I was getting through to him.”
“It was all a gamble on your part then?”
Liam asked now.
