Marilyn chuckled softly as they got out of the elevator,
“I have, she’s arriving tomorrow for a weekend of editing and proofreading. Still got that bee in her bonnet where Calvin Reeves is concerned, I see.”
“Have you told her the truth yet of the situation?”
Liam asked. e his
“I did, she was quiet for a long moment and then advised me to get some muscle. And try and p true nature out of him. Told me I had to protect myself and the boys from him. Which I also already felt I needed to. But she made a valid point, the same as my own, that I don’t recall anything about him and that he attacked me both times he saw me. Best come prepared for yet another attack..
“She’s a dog with a bone.”
Liam nodded.
“She’d make a good addition to her mother’s legal team, but won’t sit the bar exam and join.”
He shook his head.
“My girl is a bookworm and loves to read, why she changed careers in the end.”
They walked into the conference room, Liam and then Cameron first and then herself with Heath behind her. She watched as both Wil and Calvin stood up, and both men took in the two bodyguards with her. The way they were dressed even and Wil moved his eyes right towards her with a raised eyebrow questioningly so. While Calvin frowned deeply after realising just what those men with her were.
Liam made the introductions, a full mention of her bodyguards and their purpose here today to protect Marilyn from unwarranted attacks from Calvin Reeves himself. Put it down to his past events with her, he stated simply that Marilyn felt it was necessary if she was going to be in a room with him.
She sat herself down at the table, now in the knowledge of who that man over there was to her, or had once been to her. He sat himself back down. Although he didn’t look at all happy about this turn of events, he was she noticed dressed quite casually in dark blue jeans and a white tee??hirt with an open black leather jacket on. Trying she thought to appear friendly and not threatening in any way.
Whereas today she was dressed in black slacks and a deep purple long??leeved blouse, and her hair was braided down her back. She was all professional right this minute. Showing him this was a formal meeting, not a casual one on her part.
Regardless of whether he chose to dress like that or his lawyer had told him to dress down, she would present herself as a woman that didn’t know him, only wanted to be around him in a formal capacity. There would be no signs of lee way being given regardless of the fact that she knew who he had once been to her; that he was the twins’ father.
Marilyn Verses Calvin
Calvin
He was sitting in the conference room of the hotel waiting for Marrin/Marilyn to arrive. He’d come down here early with Wil, so that he wouldn’t keep her waiting. He’d gotten up and shaved, put on that aftershave she’d always liked on him, and stood and done his hair, was he knew trying to look his best for her. She’d once loved looking at him and this was the first time she’d see him with the full knowledge of everything that had happened in her past.
He knew Wil had also told her of his plan, his grand gesture for his love confession when she got off that plane in Italy, that he was going to propose to her as well. Wil had told her everything in order for her to try and believe he meant her no harm.
Which meant she could now look at him with all that knowledge and should be able to see him in a new light. Wil had smiled at him and his appearance.
“You kind of look like the way you did at the airport that day.”
“I’m aware.”
He nodded.
“Trying to get her to recall, I’ve read up a lot on how to do things to help jog one’s memories.”
He’d stated, and he had, over the past few weeks, of knowing who she was and that she had no idea who he was. He’d researched the best way to try and get her memories back.
“Familiar things help, like what I’m wearing, the scent of my aftershave. It’s written that the thing that triggers memories the best or most, is the sense of smell. If she remembers everything, we’ll be okay,”
he’d stated simply.
Only to have Wil frown at him.
“Calvin don’t think like that, even if she does recall, all of a sudden, by some miracle. Her thoughts on your divorcing her are not the same as yours.”
“I know that, and I will apologise,”
he’d stated firmly.
“But she has all the knowledge now, so…”
“Stop Calvin, Marilyn is not Marrin.”
Wil had reminded him, and he did know this, but he also believed that Marrin was in there somewhere. She’d named the twins after him, after all.
“Calvin do not approach her today and certainly do not try and touch her. Do not, I repeat, do not call her Marrin. She legally changed her name to Marilyn, while she was in fact Marrin. So her actual name is Marilyn. Even if she recalls everything, it’s still going to be Marilyn.”
He’d nodded at Wil and was now managing to contain himself, as he sat there waiting for her to arrive.
The door to the room finally opened, and he heard Wil mutter ‘just bloody great’ under his breath as Calvin’s own eyes moved from Liam, who he knew, to a large bulky man that he did not know, wearing a black suit and then Marilyn walked in behind them and another man followed her, dressed the same as that first one, a he realised they were bodyguards, she’d called for him to be in this meeting and then hired bodyguards to be room with him. in
This was not at all how he pictured this moment going.
His eyes finally moved back to her and who he was looking at was not Marrin. There was nothing soft or gentle about the appearance of the woman that walked into this room, everything about her was hard. Her hair was even pulled back tightly, he supposed, so he couldn’t get a hold of it, and her clothes were all dark and business??ike, even her expression was closed off.

She sat and both her bodyguards stood right behind her, about a meter from her, one on either side of her. He heard Liam introduce them and saw them both nod just once and Wil tugged him down into his seat once more.
The smile he’d had for her was gone. Her stance was very clear, she thought she needed protecting from him.
“I don’t think the bodyguards are at all necessary.”
He murmured unhappily as he looked right at her. Marilyn raised an eyebrow at him.
“I guess that’s your opinion, but then again, you weren’t the one that was stalked, assaulted and attacked, left in the hospital now were you.”
Wil’s hand landed on him.
“What did I tell you!”
he stated simply,
