“His mark will still be on her skin.” I growl low in my chest. Merikh yanks me close, his mouth near my ear. “Terian plans to kill the king.” He whispers. “And what good will that do other than make him be excommunicated again?” I hiss back. “He has his own plan for all of…

“We are aware of how it works, father.” He says light hearted. “We have chosen each other willingly.” “I assume he has told you about the dragon’s way of mating?” The king asks, smirking at me then looking at Teiran as his muscles go still behind me. “That has not been done in hundreds of…

“Your makeup is coming off.” He whispers, leaning in closer, his lip tugging down at the corner. “It’s fine,” I murmur. “I prefer when you look perfect.” He says. “These freckles…they show imperfection.” A jolt of anger hits me in the chest as I chuckle and shake my head, pushing his hand away. “I am…

She tries to argue, but I rub my thumb over her lips, quieting her. Kyra’s eyes twinkle in the way only a bond can make them twinkle. She knows, she knows and has been lying. “I am not Tyler.” The memory of her calling me by his name, aching in my chest. “I know,” she…

“It’s too hot for us.” He grunts, breaking into a sprint. “I don’t feel any heat!” I roar, reaching for them as they burst into a flame that takes my breath away. My heart explodes, then sinks to my stomach, a sob breaking from my lips as Hayes slams me into the base of a…

BUMS “She is coming here?” I whisper, looking up at them. “Yes, the ceremony is meant to be one of unity and peace. A union between a Lycan and a Dragon, first of its kind.” Colette explains. “It might be best if you aren’t here for it.” “I will stay.” I tell them, clearing my…

Kyra rolls her eyes and sighs heavily. “Look, you are the one making this difficult at every step if the way, Hayes. Not me.” She groans, her level of annoyance at an all-time high. “You make it seem like it is intentional.” I grunt and she growls, yanking at her hair. “Hayes, you are impossible…

“Do you think…is that from the egg?” Hayes asks, looking around, his hand carefully peeling back layers of leaves and moss as he follows the still moist umbilical cord. I watch him closely, the inside of my lip trapped between my teeth as I watch anxiously. That is, until something warm and soft slides over…
