Filed To Story: Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family

Knowing Demetrius and Olga, they would definitely deny everything when the time came!

“Mom, I could give you a promissory note! If you lent us two–thirds of your shares, we promise to repay you!”

In fear of her refusal, Demetrius quickly added, “Otherwise, if the company goes bankrupt, your 30% shares will become worthless!”

Grace looked expressionless, her voice full of bitterness, “If it weren’t for you ignoring me all these years, not even visiting me when I was sick in the hospital, even wishing me dead; if it weren’t for you hiding the fact that you sent my granddaughter away; if it weren’t for all the terrible things you’ve done, I would definitely help you.”

Demetrius looked anxious hearing this and tried to say something more, but Grace cut him off abruptly.

“But you guys have done so much messed up stuff to me and the people around me! Director Vince’s daughter got so scared she’s now depressed! Director Arora had a heart attack and kicked the bucket early because of you! And Casey, he’s gone bonkers because of you!”

Everyone in the room was gobsmacked. Good Lord, the Melton family had done such terrible things?

Scared into depression? Dying young? Going mad?

This sounded like straight–up criminal stuff!

“Mom, we know we messed up in the past, but you got to give us a chance to make it right,” pleaded Olga, knelt on the floor.

But Grace replied coldly, “If I hadn’t seen your true colors, maybe I would have given you that chance.”

But they were what they were, and they’d never change!

With that in mind, Grace showed them the door. “Get out. You deal with the mess you made.”

“Mom, we’ve never asked you for anything all these years. Why won’t you help us this one time?” Olga grabbed the hem of the old lady’s dress, wouldn’t leave, and cried bitterly.

“Wasn’t I clear just now? Why won’t I help? Don’t you get it? Everything you’ve done all these years has left me heartbroken! That’s why I won’t help! You said you’ve never asked me for anything all these years, just this once? That’s because Bella has always been dealing with your problems behind the scenes! Bella did a lot for your success today! If Bella hadn’t given you resources and orders and helped you with the aftermath, would you be where you are today? But how did you treat her? Kicked her out of the house, insulted her! Always ready to beat and scold her! You drove away your lucky star, and now that you’re in trouble, you’re begging me? Forget it, I won’t help!”

Everyone present was stunned.

Even the Panter family didn’t expect that the Melton family’s success wasn’t due to Demetrius and Olga’s business skills or exceptional abilities but because Bella had given them resources and helped them solve problems!

Those who didn’t know Bella didn’t know who the old lady was talking about.

But the Melton family, their relatives and friends, and Mr. and Mrs. Panter, Zachary, of course, knew that Bella was the adopted daughter who lived with the Melton family for eighteen years and was finally sent away by Demetrius and Olga!

They hadn’t realized her abilities were so great that she could help Demetrius become the richest man in Tranquil City!

She founded QY and was a master pianist, obviously with a wide network.

Thinking about this, Mr. and Mrs. Panter regretted it deeply. If they had a daughter–in–law like Bella, the Panter family’s development would definitely be better than now!

It’s all their fault for not seeing the big picture and missing the opportunity!

In the video.

Olga was still begging, “Mom, we’re barely hung on, but you insist on leaving everything to Mirabella. Is that fair to Demetrius, to me, to Yoli?”

“That’s my stuff, and I give it to whoever I want. If you don’t leave, I’ll call the cops.”

In the end, no matter how much Demetrius’s family cried and pleaded, the old lady had made up her mind.

Hearing what the old lady said, Demetrius could only lead Olga and Yolanda away, planning to come back and ask her again after her surgery the next day.

The video should have ended there, but surprisingly, after a while, Olga came back to the ward all by herself.

At first, she pleaded earnestly, but as her patience wore thin, a hint of resentment began to show in her eyes.

“I’ve treated you like family. That’s why I’ve been backing down and compromising! I’m asking you one last time: will you help me?”

Grace was also riled up, “Are you threatening me? Let me tell you,”

Before Grace could finish, Olga suddenly grabbed the old lady’s hair, her face distorted with rage, “You old bat, I’ve been polite to you all along. Do you think you’re all that? Let me tell you, you have to help me today whether you like it or not! Or else you’ll regret it!!”

“Let go of me!” Perhaps not expecting Olga to be so audacious, Grace was thoroughly enraged but couldn’t break free from Olga’s grip. She was like a tiny chicken being held up, completely powerless.

With one hand clutching Grace’s hair, Olga slapped her face with the other!

The slap echoed loudly in the quiet hospital room.

All the guests were shocked. They couldn’t believe that the same Olga who was crying her eyes out a moment ago had turned into a completely different person the next!

How could she treat a sick old lady so brutally?

Even Demetrius and Yolanda couldn’t believe it. Just the night before, the three of them were thrown out of the hospital room by the old lady. As they reached the hallway, Olga suddenly claimed she had a great idea to get the old lady to help.

So they let her go back to the room to try while they waited in the car for her.

But to their surprise, she went back to the room to use violence!

“You old hag, if it weren’t for Demetrius, I would have offed you a long time ago! Instead of being grateful, you’re being ungrateful! You act all high and mighty in front of me, and people might think you’re really something! Ungrateful!”

With that, Olga forcefully pushed the old lady away.

Grace hit the bedhead with her back, her whole body writhing in pain, “Help.”

“You old witch, still want to call for help? Go ahead, let’s see if you can!”

Olga covered Grace’s mouth and nose tightly. Grace was struggling to breathe.

“How does it feel to suffocate? I’m asking you one last time: will you help or not?”

The surveillance camera only caught Grace’s painful struggle on the bed and Olga’s distorted face.

Grace was too weak to break free from her daughter–in–law’s grip. The suffocating feeling was giving her heart a great shock. For a moment, she thought she was going to die!

Almost instinctively, she reached for the service bell, but Olga noticed and slapped her hand away.

“You old hag, it seems like you haven’t had enough!”

Olga moved the service bell out of reach and slapped Grace again.

Dealing with Grace was like dealing with a defenseless child, and she didn’t even need to break a sweat.

Grace, seeing stars from the slap and gasping for breath, instinctively reached for the phone under her pillow.

Olga instantly noticed her move, “Are you trying to call Mirabella? You’re a sneaky one! You’re full of tricks!”

Olga tried to grab the phone, but Grace wouldn’t let her. In their struggle, Grace, frantic and angry, was pushed again, her head hitting the bed railing hard.

Olga finally snatched the phone and held it up, grinning triumphantly, “You want this?”

Grace was so sapped of strength she couldn’t even stand. Staying in her fallen pose, she panted heavily for a while before struggling to her feet. She wobbled and reached out, trying to get her phone back.

But Olga? No way she was giving it back. She stepped back, laughing even more brazenly, “You want it? Tough luck!”
