Chapter 244 – Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family

He had never been so humiliated in his life! Especially in front of so many important people!

“Mr. Panter, you’re not as young as you used to be. You should take it easy.”

At this point, Erlinda suggested out of kindness.

Mr. Panter didn’t expect Erlinda to speak up for him, felt his tough love approach was effective, and quickly expressed his gratitude, “Thanks for your concern, Ms. Archer, about this matter,”

“Perhaps you could use some tools to save some energy. After all, you’ll need to further educate him when you get back, I happen to have some at home! Just wait a moment. I’ll have someone bring it for you.” Erlinda had someone fetch a bat.

Mr. Panter didn’t expect Erlinda to add fuel to the fire instead of helping, his face immediately turned sour.

“Lucky you’re here to discipline him today, or else my people, being young and strong, might have accidentally hurt your son, then the Panter family’s lineage would, you know.”

Erlinda’s intention was clear.

Either Mr. Panter kept teaching him a lesson with the bat, or Ms. Archer stepped in. If Zachary got hurt, he can’t blame them.

Mrs. Panter was heartbroken but can’t stop it. After all, her son had pissed off three families today!

Each of these families was seriously heavy–duty!

He can only bear the pain!

Mr. Panter closed his eyes, picked up the bat, and kept walloping Zachary.

“You ungrateful brat, you’ve lost face for the Panter family.” He went on for a while.

“Mr. Panter, knock it off.” Erlinda repeatedly said, “The bat isn’t doing much good. Let’s get Mr. Panter something else.”

Everyone: ????

Erlinda was so decisive! Her take–no–prisoners attitude was too much for most people!

Mr. Panter was completely thrown, “Ms. Archer.”

“This one is sturdy, very useful!” Erlinda handed a knife to Mr. Panter, grinning from ear to ear, looking very sincere.

Mr. Panter was all, “Ms. Archer, this isn’t right.”

“Why not?” Erlinda suddenly slashed Zachary’s hand.

She just happened to slash the hand that touched Mirabella.

Zachary probably didn’t see that coming. He shrieked in pain, shaking all over.

Erlinda casually raised an eyebrow at everyone, “Hear that? Much more effective.”

Everyone: !!!!

“Ms. Archer, please, I beg you to spare my son! He’s had enough. I’m kneeling down to you!” Mrs. Panter, crying, suddenly knelt before Erlinda,

Erlinda looked at the knife in her hand, smiling, “Begging me won’t do you any good.”

Mrs. Panter got it and knelt in front of Mirabella, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Mirabella, I was wrong to blame you earlier. I thought you were the one bothering Zachary. It was all my fault, and I’m kneeling to apologize. Can you let Zachary go?”

Mrs. Panter bowed repeatedly, “It was all my mistake. I believed others without checking the facts.”

Hearing this, the whole Demetrius family jumped, worried this will affect them.

“I was wrong, and I’ll never do it again. I’ll make Zachary stay away from you, okay?”

“Mrs. Panter, are you trying to put my fiancée on the spot?”

Just then, a chilly voice rang out, and everyone saw Romeo protecting Mirabella, glaring at Mrs. Panter.

Fiancée??

Mrs. Panter’s tears were stuck in her eyes.

Everyone was taken aback, fiancée?!

This girl right here was Romeo’s fiancée?!

The Panter family was toast!!

Mr. Panter’s mind went blank.

Even Zachary, in his pain, can hardly believe it: Mirabella wasn’t Romeo’s girlfriend. She’s his fiancée?!

Being a fiancée was way more serious than being a girlfriend!

It’s over, it’s over, it’s really over today!

“Your son disrespected my fiancée. Paying a price isn’t too much, right?”

Mr. Panter knew his son had to pay a heavy price today. He lowered his head and said, “That’s fair.”

“Dad?”

Mr. Panter took the knife from Erlinda, looking at his son with mixed feelings, “If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for not knowing any better and messing with someone you shouldn’t have!”

“Dad!” Zachary staggered back in disbelief, unable to accept that his father was really going to harm him.

“Which hand of yours touched Mirabella?”

Zachary’s voice trembled as he watched his father approaching step by step, “Dad, I won’t do it again.”

“I asked which hand touched Mirabella!”

“Dad!” Zachary trembled in fear, tears streaming down his face.

Soon after, a scream echoed from the garden.

Romeo covered Mirabella’s eyes, speaking softly, “Don’t look.”

The sight was too bloody.

Mirabella moved his hand away, seeing Zachary’s hand bleeding.

Although the tendon was not cut, a long scar was left on his arm. Ordinary doctors probably couldn’t help; he might be scarred for life.

“Mr. McMillian, are you satisfied with this outcome?” Mr. Panter asked after the punishment, not checking his son’s condition first but instead bending over to ask Romeo.

Seeing his humble demeanor, Romeo’s voice remained cold, “You’re asking the wrong person.”

Mr. Panter turned to Mirabella quickly, “Ms. Bella, is this acceptable? Can you spare us? I will continue to discipline this unfilial son when we get home!” “Hmm.” Mirabella responded indifferently, “You can go now.”

Mr. Panter bowed his head immediately, “Thank you, Ms. Bella, we’ll leave now and won’t bother you again.”

Yolanda pretended to help Zachary up but was pushed away by Mrs. Panter before she could touch him, “You bitch, it’s all your fault!”

Yolanda was taken aback, “Auntie.”

“If it wasn’t for you stirring things up, why would Zachary go after Mirabella, trying to stand up for your family?”

Mrs. Panter and her husband helped their son up, clearly despising Yolanda!

Demetrius and Olga signaled their daughter not to interfere, but as they were about to leave, they heard Romeo say, “Wait.”

The Panter family returned in fear, thinking Romeo had changed his mind, “Mr. McMillian.”

Didn’t Mirabella agree to let them leave?

“I didn’t say you could leave.”

Realizing Romeo was addressing the Melton family, the Panthers sighed in relief and quickly left with their son.

Demetrius looked at Romeo fearfully, his voice filled with humility and appeasement, “Mr. McMillian, do you have any other instructions?” Instead of answering his question, Romeo turned to Erlinda, “Ms. Archer, can I borrow a few of your men?”

This novel is pure rubbish and exaggerated.

Zachary is not evil, does not look for trouble, never harmed Mirabella and so did not deserve that kind of harsh treatment to the extent of being tortured with a knife… pure rubbish. Yes he was lied to and mislead several times by Yolanda, but despite that he never harmed Mirabella, so he did not deserve such evil called punishment.

Yes Mirabella is capable, but why paint her as inhumane? Even if the others were willing to let Zachary be tortured with a knife, Mirabella could have pleaded on his behalf to have the punishment and beating not get to the extent of using a knife.

The author and editor of this novel are all twisted minded and wicked.
