Filed To Story: Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family
“They’re so happy about winning a piece of land. Mrs. Collins must’ve gotten so many better ones when she was younger!”
“They’re such country bumpkins. Mrs. Collins, they only got this land because you didn’t want it. If the Collins group really wanted it, they wouldn’t have stood a chance!”
“Exactly!”
Several rich ladies were flattering Louisa. Louisa smiled and said, “I’m glad they won it.”
She was initially worried that they wouldn’t dare to bid! Now that they were close to failure, of course, Louisa was happy.
The ladies thought Louisa was being modest and started to kiss up even more.
“Look at Mrs. Collins‘ grace and grandeur, then look at them; it’s like night and day.”
“Mrs. Collins, you’re so bold. No wonder the Collins group has been doing so well for so many years.”
“Mrs. Collins, how about having dinner at my new restaurant?”
“Ah, why not come to my place? We just opened a resort nearby.”
“No, no, no, come to my place for a hot spring bath. My husband just bought a hot spring hotel!”
Louisa smiled and said, “I have a dinner party to attend tonight; I really am sorry.”
“Oh? That’s a shame.”
Mirabella whispered to Louisa, “I’m going to the restroom.”
“Alright then.” Louisa was comered by a bunch of loaded ladies, chit–chatting about God knew what
“Mrs. Collins, I heard your daughter Serena knocked the college entrance exam outta the park with a score over 700! Makes my good–for–nothing kid look like a chump.”
“Yeah, mine only managed a measly 600–odd. Mrs. Collins, not only are you drop–dead gorgeous and elegant, but you also know how to whip your kids into shape. You’re a real life superhero!”
The ladies couldn’t stop singing Louisa’s praises.
In the midst of the excitement, Yolanda noticed Mirabella sneaking off to the restroom with some guy. She couldn’t help but smirk, quickly got up, and followed them
Mirabella was washing her hands when she heard a gloating voice.
“Bet you didn’t see the Meltons snagging that piece of land, did you?”
Yolanda strutted over, chin held high and eyes full of disdain. “I saw you drooling over that plot. Why don’t you get down on your knees and beg me for it? I could put in a good word with my dad, and he might even give you a discount.”
“Are you off your rocker again? Shouldn’t you be at your shrink’s office instead of causing a ruckus here?” Mirabella rolled her eyes at her and was about to leave. “Mirabella! You lowlife, even if you did set up QY, you’re still nothing but trash! You can’t hide your low–born blood! Who are you trying to fool with that icy facade of yours? That guy must be blind to fall for you! I can’t even imagine what kind of pitiful family could spawn something like you! You make me sick! Absolutely sick!” Mirabella: ???
Yolanda saw the handsome man still waiting outside and decided to push her luck. “You’re just as useless as that old man in the hospital, wasting oxygen. You should’ve been pushing up daisies long ago.”
Old man?
Mirabella’s eyes turned icy cold, and she marched towards Yolanda.
Yolanda smirked, grabbed some water from the faucet to splash at Mirabella, then bolted out of the restroom, making a show of messing up her hair as if she had been attacked.
Think he can run?
Mirabella moved quickly, catching Yolanda and slamming her against the wall, landing a solid slap across her face.
The force of the slap knocked Yolanda off balance.
“Ahh.” Yolanda’s plan was going perfectly.
All she had to do was lean into that guy, and he’d instinctively catch her. That would make her plan half successful!
But she never expected that Romeo would pretend not to see her and instead walk towards Mirabella, asking, “What’s the matter?”
“None of your business.”
Mirabella turned to Yolanda, her icy eyes blazing with anger, grabbed Yolanda by the throat, and pinned her against the wall. “Who’s the old man? Say it again!” “Sis, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I can’t breathe. Let go. Help.” Yolanda put on a show of being in extreme pain.
“Mirabella, what the hell are you doing?” Olga yelled, rushing over.
The entire venue was drawn to the spectacle.
Seeing Olga charging towards Mirabella, apparently ready to give her a piece of her mind, Louisa quickly weaved through the crowd to step in.
“You’re trying to provoke me? Who’s your audience?” Mirabella tightened her grip. “You think I won’t strangle you right here and now?”
“Mirabella!” Olga stormed over, only to be blocked by a handsome figure.
She looked up, her face filled with shock. “Is that Mr. McMillan?”
The youngest ever CEO of McMillan Corporation and the world’s richest man? Why would he get involved with this?
“Didn’t you see my fiancée teaching someone a lesson?”
The icy–cold voice shocked Olga; she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. What did he mean?
Fiancée? Mirabella was Romeo’s fiancée? How could this be possible?
She suddenly felt weak in the knees, almost collapsing on the spot.
Even Demetrius, who had rushed over, was extremely shocked and in disbelief. Did he just hear what Romeo said? Mirabella was his fiancée?
“Who were you cursing at just now? Cat got your tongue? Nothing to say now?” Mirabella increased her grip, her body radiating a terrifying aura. Those cold eyes seemed ready to swallow up the joker in front of her.
Yolanda was still in shock, not yet able to process the situation. The man had just said Mirabella was his fiancée, and her mom was terrified when calling him Mr. McMillan. Could he be not just a high–ranking officer in McMillan Corporation but the world’s richest man, Romeo?
No way!
How could the world’s richest man, Romeo, have a fiancée? And how could that fiancée be Mirabella?
What on earth was going on?
It must be a misunderstanding! It must be!
Mirabella looked at the joker in front of her coldly and said, “If you want to play, then let’s play.”
She slapped Yolanda several times. Demetrius stood two meters away, watching his daughter get hit without any resistance, getting more anxious.
“Mr. McMillan,‘ I apologize; the one being hit is my daughter. Could you let me go over there? There might be some misunderstanding. I’ll go over and mediate.” “Your daughter provoked my fiancée!” Romeo’s eyes were as cold as ice. “You didn’t educate your daughter well. I haven’t even settled the score with you.” Demetrius was now sure that Mirabella really was his fiancée. It’s over; it’s all over. Yolanda had to provoke Mirabella in front of Romeo.
Mirabella slapped Yolanda several times, each slap full of force.
Yolanda was seeing stars; Mirabella’s face was splitting into several shadows; the people around her were blurry.
“Mirabella!” Olga watched as her daughter got hit until her mouth was bleeding, both cheeks swollen, her makeup smeared, and her hair a mess. She was heartbroken.
She really wanted to hit Mirabella, but now she could only try to persuade her: “What are you hitting Yoli for? Look at her! There are so many people here; let her go.“/ If it had been before, Olga would have already charged over to fight with Mirabella.
But now that Mr. McMillan was standing in front of her, she didn’t dare make a move; she could only swallow her bitterness and plead with Mirabella in as polite a tone as possible.
“Why would I hit her?” Mirabella sneered at the ridiculous figure in front of her, “Because she got what she deserved!”
“What kind of reason is that? Aren’t you afraid of being laughed at by the other families?”
