Brian walked over to her seat, resting his hands on the seat’s handle. He was tall. As he did so, his back naturally bent slightly and it looked like he was imprisoning her in his arms.

Grace could only awkwardly lower her head and look down, trying to ignore Brian who was standing next to her.

However, it was a dozen stations away from where she lived, at least 40 minutes away!

Grace simply closed her eyes and pretended to doze off.

Brian looked down at the figure sitting in the seat. From his point of view, he could see her black hair, arched eyebrows, closed eyes, and small nose tip… She looked so adorable.

When did he fall in love with her and become attracted to her?

If it was because of her appearance at the beginning, then later, he seemed to have gradually yearned for her day and night.

As the bus went past station after station, Brian could only see Grace’s head gradually becoming like a chicken pecking at rice as she swayed slightly with the movement of the bus.

Every time her head bumped into his palm, a faint smile appeared on the corners of his mouth.

It was so warm and harmonious!

Anyone could see the rare dotingness in the man’s eyes.

Grace suddenly woke up as the bus reached the terminal, and the loudspeaker continued to blast the sound to signal all pa**engers to get down from the bus.

Did… she fall asleep? She had just faked it earlier, not expecting to actually fall asleep!

“Are you awake?” Brian’s voice rang in her ears.

As soon as she looked up, her face turned slightly red. She gave a vague response and got off quickly.

Brian got off the bus with her.

No matter how fast or slow Grace walked, Brian followed her steadily and saw her off until she reached her rental house’s door.

“Okay, I’m going home,” he said. He did not attempt to enter the rental house. However, just as he was about to turn round, as though he suddenly remembered something, he said, “By the way, even if the police can’t find anything about the lounge incident right now, I’m going to keep investigating it. No matter who that person is trying to frame, I’ll find them and give you justice!”

Grace said, “So you believe in Stella’s words that someone is trying to harm her and I’m the unfortunate substitute who entered the lounge at the wrong time?”

“I don’t believe her. I just want to find out the truth,” said Brian.

“If you find out the truth and she’s the one who did it, will you turn her in to the police and do things fairly?” asked Grace as she looked at Brian.

His eyes glimmered. ‘If Stella did all this, I will naturally give Grace justice, but… turn her into the police? Do things fairly?’

Such a case was enough for a sentence. “She… did save me when I was little, though,” Brian said with difficulty.

Grace gave a wry smile, suddenly finding it ironic.

It was she who had chosen to conceal the truth from him. Although she was the one who saved him when she was a child, he was protecting Stella who was trying to harm her because of the affections they had when they were young.

It was like the ultimate irony!

However, she could not say anything! If she told him that she was the one he had been looking for, it would be harder to get him to give up on her.

Since she could not give him what he wanted, she could only maintain the current situation.

Grace said nothing and turned around to open the door to the rental house.

“But…” Brian’s voice came from behind her. “I won’t let whoever hurt you off the hook, not even Stella. Not even… myself.”

Grace turned her head and looked at Brian in surprise.

His face, which had always attracted women, was tinged with the color of the sunset. His expression was not of the usual indifference and estrangement but determination. Her face was reflected in those dark phoenix eyes.

His thin lips were still parting and closing. “Grace, I can’t decide whether you want to enter my world, but I can decide whether I want to enter your world! You’re the person I want to protect the most in my life, so I’m not going to let anyone hurt you or harm you again!”

Her heart felt as if it were being pulled by something, and she could not take her eyes off his face.

Grace felt as if a rush of heat had come up from the back of her throat. It mixed with the soreness on the tip of her nose, creating a sensation she had never felt before.

The driver dropped Stella off at her place and left. Stella stomped her foot forcefully as she entered the neighborhood and arrived at her apartment building. She stepped into the elevator.

It was considered a wealthy neighborhood in Emerald City. Although it was an apartment building, the smallest unit here still cost more than 20 million dollars.

Brian had bought her the apartment.

Before, she just thought Brian was nice to her and would buy her anything she wanted.

However, after seeing him with Grace, she found that when a man wanted to be nice to a woman, it was not about the material things but the gentleness from the inside. This was what would let people know right away whether a man cared about a woman.

Brian cared a lot about Grace now!

Who was Grace to steal Brian from her?

She did not know why her cousin had recovered her memory but chose not to say it out. Since she had chosen not to say it, then she should not be getting so close to Brian! She even made Brian fall in love with her!

When the elevator reached the floor where Stella’s apartment unit was on, Stella opened the door and walked in. Before she could close the door, a figure darted into the house.

Then the door was shut!

Stella was about to scream, but the next moment, their voice stopped her.

“Miss Lindsay, have you forgotten me so quickly? I helped you to move the surveillance camera!” they said.

Stella shuddered. Was this not the voice… of the cleaner she had hired to do the job? However… the person in front of her now did not look like the cleaner in her memory. She… was dressed a lot more stylishly, and without the gla**es and hat, her temperament looked different.

“What are you doing here? Haven’t… Haven’t I paid you? What more do you want? If anyone finds out that you’re the one who locked the lounge door, you’ll go to prison!” said Stella.

Her poor argument elicited a derisive laugh.

“If I’m going to prison, then you probably deserve to go to prison more, Miss Lindsay. You’re the one behind it!”

“You…” Stella’s face turned red.

“By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Evelyn!” She made it clear who she was. “Speaking of which, I should call you ‘Sis’ too!”

Stella’s eyes widened immediately. She could hardly believe that this dull, average-looking woman was Evelyn!

‘Evelyn? She’s Evelyn? But she doesn’t look like the Evelyn in my memory at all!’ Though they were relatives, they were not related by blood.

She had seen Evelyn a few times as a child, but she had never seen her as an adult.

The last she had ever seen of Evelyn were some of her photos online. When she heard that Evelyn had also been Brian’s girlfriend previously, she looked up her photos and thought she was pretty!

However, now it seemed that Evelyn looked much worse than Grace.

At least Grace looked pretty good without makeup, but the Evelyn in front of her looked a lot different from those online photos of her with makeup on.

Stella even felt she was just as good-looking as Evelyn!

“Did you do it on purpose? Just to make me think you’re a mere cleaner? What do you want?” Stella was fuming.

Evelyn sneered, “It’s a good thing you found me. If it were anyone else, you wouldn’t know how you had failed by now! It doesn’t matter if I’m a cleaner or not. What matters is… do you want Grace to get into trouble?”
