“Alright, we’ll talk about this at home.” Kenneth soothed.

“If it weren’t for Bella’s gratitude towards Grace, I’d really want to wipe them all out in one fell swoop! A touch of discontent appeared on Louisa’s face; she was talking about the Melton family. “Don’t tell Bella about what just happened; I don’t want her to feel disgusted.”

“Alright, your wish is my command.” Kenneth laughed.

Louisa was about to get in the car, then she seemed to ponder something, suddenly turning back and saying, “Mess with them some more.”

If she can’t take them down in one shot, then just chipped away at them little by little. Whatever, don’t let them live comfortably.

They’ve been bullying Bella for so many years. Who would put up with that?

“No problem,” Kenneth agreed instantly.

The next morning.

Demetrius and Olga, loaded with all sorts of gifts, arrived at Hope Hospital’s Room 301. As soon as they opened the door, they saw Grace chatting with a strange woman.

The stranger was sitting by the bed, looking like a secretary, stern–faced and professional, seemingly agreeing with whatever Grace was saying. “Mom, you’re awake? Who’s this?” Olga was instantly curious and wary of this stranger as soon as she stepped into the room.

It was only half past seven in the morning, and this woman had come so early. What was she discussing with Grace?

Upon seeing them, the stranger immediately stood up and politely said to Grace, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now.”

“Okay,” Grace answered simply. Seeing them come in with a mountain of gifts, her face instantly turned serious. “Why are you here? Get out!”

“Mom, you haven’t told us who this person is.” Olga only wanted to know the stranger’s identity. What was her relationship with Grace? What was she doing for Grace? Was it related to the will?

With these thoughts, she immediately blocked the stranger’s exit, smiling as she asked, “Are you a relative of ours or someone else? I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”

The stranger did not answer her question, only politely saying, “I’m sorry, could you please let me pass?”

With no intention of backing down, Olga was getting a bit pissed.. It looked like the woman didn’t take her seriously at all.

Seeing that Olga wouldn’t give way, the stranger forced her way past and exited the room, shutting the door behind her.

This made Olga even more pissed. The woman’s manners and attitude were just plain awful! She’ll show her!

“Mom, you didn’t buy insurance, did you?” Demetrius asked when he saw the woman in the black suit. She looked a bit like an insurance agent..

“Ha, you all wish I’d kick the bucket sooner! Even if I gave all my property away after I die, I wouldn’t leave you a penny!” Grace said, coughing a few times in anger. She coldly added, “What did you come for this time? To take my phone, my bracelet, or the flowers made of gems?”

Last time, Olga took advantage of her fainting to take all the things Bella had given her, which had made her condition worse.

Luckily, Bella had managed to get everything back, and she even bought her some expensive medicine. Otherwise, she might already be six feet under.

They’d have to visit her at her grave, then!

“Mom, how could we dare to steal your things?” Olga put on an innocent face. “Last time, we saw you faint and were worried that your valuable items would be stolen, so we kindly helped you keep them safe, but you misunderstood our good intentions and let Bella make a scene at our place. I fell down and twisted my waist because of it, and I couldn’t get out of bed for days.”

“Serves you right,” Grace replied expressionlessly, adding sarcastically, “Aren’t you the thieves at home? Real thieves would feel inadequate in front of you.”

Despite her discomfort, Olga still put out the breakfast one by one. “Mom, you’re joking again! We asked the nurses last night, and they said you could eat these for breakfast. Why don’t you eat a bit first?”

Ever since last time, when she saw their true colors, Grace had grown even more disgusted with them. Right now, she glanced coldly at the breakfast on the table. “Take it away.”

She was thinking, They might have poisoned the food!

“Mom, don’t worry, there’s no poison.” At this moment, Demetrius was sitting by the bed, looking at Grace’s face helplessly. “We know you’re mad, and yeah, we messed up. We shouldn’t have put Bella’s info on that missing persons site, leading to your separation.”

Grace, hearing these words, was a bit taken aback. Had something unusual happened today? Her son was actually reflecting on his actions. That was a rarity.

“Last time we visited, we really took to heart what you said.” Demetrius looked genuinely remorseful; his head hung low in regret.

Grace had previously mentioned that ever since they put Bella’s info on the missing persons site, the Melton family had hit hard times, driving away their fortune without even realizing.

“Bella’s been doing so well in school all these years, and you never even told me.”

Hearing this, Grace found it a bit funny and immediately retorted, “When did I not tell you? Every time I call you, the minute I start talking about Bella, you lose interest. You’re always ‘busy‘, ‘in a meeting‘, ‘doing something else‘. Basically, you never want to make time to hear me out.”

That was a fact, and Demetrius had no retort.

“The rare times you guys do call me, it’s always to borrow money or for some boss’s contact. After giving you the money and the contact info and just starting to fill you in on Bella’s recent situation, you guys are already rushing to hang up!”

“Well, you could’ve texted me!”

“Don’t you guys know that from middle school onwards, the school system would automatically send Bella’s homework and monthly exam results to you? Bella got full marks on every test just to gain a bit of your favor!”

This was news to Demetrius; he hadn’t realized that Bella had been doing so well in school all these years or that she had been longing for their attention this whole time.

They really screwed up on this front.

But he had absolutely no clue that the school system sent homework and grades…

Olga, standing off to the side, was looking even more upset. She suddenly remembered that she used to receive texts from the school about Bella’s homework, vocabulary/words to memorize, and tests to take!

She was so annoyed by the constant texts that she called the school and gave them a piece of her mind, and the texts stopped.

But Bella didn’t know about this; she thought her parents could see her grades, so she studied hard every day.

“So you also didn’t tell us that Bella is the founder of QY Corp!” Demetrius’s words held a hint of blame.

“You guys don’t even care about your own child, and now you’re blaming me? Bella is still underage; she didn’t want to make you feel inferior to a minor, so she’s always been mindful of your feelings. These past few years, she’s been helping you guys out behind the scenes. Do you really think the Melton family could be as prosperous as it is today with your level of intelligence?”

Olga was immediately defensive: “Mom, even though Mirabella is the founder of QY, the Melton family’s success today is clearly due to me and Demetrius’s hard work over the years.”

“Hard work?” Grace scoffed, “Take the recent events as an example; you guys wanted to invest in a few projects. Bella practically spoon–fed you the right paths to take; she practically handed you the money on a silver platter! Yet you guys lost all your capital. Bella had to cover for you with a hundred million dollars!”

Olga and Demetrius were both shocked and unable to believe it.

“There’s a lot more where that came from. That kid truly cares about you guys, but how have you treated her over the years?”

Demetrius asked in shock, “Mom, are you for real? Has Bella been doing all this for us for so long?”

“You know damn well. Look at QY; they’re so powerful; why would they collaborate with you? Because of your abilities? Or because you have some special resources?”

Demetrius and Olga turned pale at their mother’s words.

“If it wasn’t for all the boneheaded decisions you’ve made over the years and Bella having to clean up your mess, you’d probably be filthy rich by now!” Though Olga was skeptical, seeing her mother so indignant and considering everything that had happened, including Mirabella’s creation of the huge QY, she started to believe.

Grace, struggling to suppress a fit of coughing, finally said, “You should be thanking her for me still being here!”

Demetrius and Olga were stunned, looking at her in disbelief. Mirabella didn’t do anything! She didn’t know medicine and didn’t pay any bills; why should they thank her? Seeing their expressions, Grade chuckled. “You really think you two could afford my stay in this VIP ward?”

This was Hope Hospital. It’s just a regular VIP ward, but they can’t just throw money at it; they need connections!

“Caden Newton is my personal physician, thanks to Bella!”

“Also, I take a medication twice a month, a million dollars a pop, for three consecutive months before surgery can be performed! Bella gave me that!”

“You two think paying some hospital bills and visiting me once or twice a month is enough to fulfill your duties? Ha.”

“Bella and I are not blood related, but she’s helped us the most! You’re ungrateful, constantly hurting and humiliating her.”

Whatever Grace said next, Demetrius couldn’t hear. His mind was buzzing.

He suddenly remembered that a while ago, he was afraid Mirabella would keep bothering Grace at the hospital, and he considered transferring Grace to another hospital.

But Caden told him the best medical resources were at Hope Hospital, and if she was transferred, Grace would probably pass away soon..

He asked Caden if there was any other way to save Grace besides staying at Hope Hospital.

Caden said there was a medication only available on the black market for a million dollars a pill that Grace would need to take twice a month for three consecutive months before surgery could be performed.
