Filed To Story: Returning to Her Not-So-Poor Family
Hearing this, and seeing the new SK outfit Alma was wearing, the salesperson quickly apologized and led her to the high–end clothing area.
There were very few customers there, as each piece of clothing was priced at least two million dollars.
Unlike the ordinary clothes from before, every piece here was so luxurious it was hard to look away.
Alma glanced casually but was immediately drawn to a beautiful backless dress. She had it taken off the mannequin and tried it on herself, then paid for it promptly. The whole process was incredibly swift, and it was as if she was not swiping money but just a string of numbers.
“Alma, with this dress and those expensive jewelry pieces from your collection, you’ll definitely be the center of attention tonight.” said the long–haired girl cheerfully Alma gave a cold laugh. Was that even a question?
“I heard your uncle’s daughter who grew up in a small town just moved to Summerfield. Even if you don’t dress up tonight, your aura will definitely outshine hers.” Alma had no interest in the girl, but the fact that Serena was not a biological daughter of the Collins family made her very happy.
Outside Dawn Department Store.
After being kicked out, the three members of the Demetrius Melton family didn’t leave immediately. Instead, they hid behind the garden, hoping to see someone exiting the store.
It was midsummer, and the outdoor temperature had reached 39 degrees. Yolanda was feeling extremely hot and couldn’t help asking, “Dad, Mom, how long do we have to wait here?”
“Just a bit longer, sweetheart,” Demetrius responded, keeping his eyes on the exit. “Bella is a straight–A student, a piano master, the founder of QY, and she has deep ties with the Collins family’s clothing company. She might know the executives of the Collins family’s company. That Molly, the one who won first place in the design competition, seems to be on good terms with her. And Dylan from Allbara Investment, he’s been extra courteous to her.”
Demetrius recalled the last time when Allbara Investment suddenly pulled out and refused to cooperate with the Melton family. He visited Dylan for dinner to seek understanding, only to find out Dylan had gone to meet someone important.
He witnessed in person how Dylan behaved toward Mirabella with a great deal of respect in the restaurant’s private room. There was even a hint of humility and flattery in his demeanor.
“The store manager also mentioned earlier that QY is McMilian Corporation’s most important partner. What does that tell us? That Bella knows people from McMilian Corporation. Remember when we witnessed her picking up Phillip McMillian from the hospital? All this suggests she has an extensive network, more than we could have imagined. Our Melton family’s salvation is at hand.”
Demetrius made a vow in his heart to use whatever means necessary to get her help to save the Melton family.
“She cares about Grace the most, doesn’t she? If we run out of options, we’ll just stop giving Grace her medicine and threaten her with that.” Olga suggested while fanning herself in the sweltering heat. She felt like she was about to faint from the sun. They had been waiting for half an hour already, how much longer did they have to wait?
“You don’t understand Bella at all. She’ll respond to gentle persuasion, not to threats. The more you threaten her, the more she’ll resist,” Demetrius finally understood why the Melton family had been in such an unlucky state since Mirabella left them.
Turned out that Mirabella was indeed the Melton family’s lucky charm.
Meanwhile, Yolanda was feeling very bitter. Just now, Zachary spent 1.3 million dollars, all of which ended up in that disgusting Mirabella’s hands. It made her angry just thinking about it.
What was worse was that she loved QY so much, and it turned out all the designs were by Mirabella, which was unbearable.
Why?
Why did Mirabella have so many talents?
Why did she keep a low profile before and suddenly show off now?
Yolanda couldn’t figure it out, so she just let it go..
Yolanda hung her head, looking hurt, “I accidentally bumped into my sister’s hand, it’s not her fault.”
Olga was about to lose her temper, but she changed her mind and gently touched her daughter’s face.
“I know it’s rough for you. But don’t worry, we’ll make Mirabella pay and seize her resources and funds, so you just bear with it today.”
Hearing this, Yolanda was shocked. She didn’t understand why her mom didn’t reprimand Mirabella, but asked her to swallow the insult.
Her face was already swollen from the beating. Even if Mirabella really gave them some money and resources, could it make up for her humiliation?
She felt a huge shift in her mother’s attitude, which made her feel even more uneasy.
After a while, a familiar figure emerged from the mall’s entrance.
Demetrius rushed over, opening an umbrella for Mirabella before laughing, “Bella, there you are! Is it hot out? I just bought a sun umbrella from the supermarket. It’s supposed to be good for sun protection. Maybe it’s not as good as your QY brand, but it’s got its uses.”
Mirabella gave him a cold glance, didn’t stop, and kept walking.
They kept sucking up to Mirabella with smiles, but she didn’t stop, continued walking forward, and didn’t even respond.
“Oh right, Bella, I just visited a jewelry store nearby and picked out a new necklace for you.”
Initially, Demetrius was reluctant to bring out the necklace, but after previous attempts failed, he had to grit his teeth and present the small gift box.
Demetrius handed over the box, his smile even more amiable.
At this point, Mirabella’s gazes went ice–cold. She said coldly, “I won’t drop the lawsuit, and I won’t cooperate with you.”
“Bella, are you throwing a fit again?” Demetrius kept smiling, acting all humble.
Seeing this method wasn’t working, Olga started acting pitiful. She tearfully said, “Bella, Mom has made a lot of mistakes in the past. Can you give Mom another chance to treat you right?”
Mirabella headed to the nearby outdoor parking lot, hit the unlock button, and prepared to get in the car.
Seeing Mirabella getting into a top–of–the–line limited edition car worth at least three million dollars, Demetrius was stunned.
Olga was shocked, she could not believe that the Melton family had to spend all their fortune to buy a Maybach, and yet, Mirabella could easily drive a limited edition Rolls–Royce.
The car’s plate number was so eye–catching and familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before.
She couldn’t recall where she had seen it, but one thing was clear, Bella was seriously loaded.
Of course, as the founder of QY, how could she not be?!
At this point, Demetrius was blocking the car door, not allowing Mirabella to get in, while Olga was on her knees, tears rolling down her face like pearls.
“Bella, I was wrong. What should I do for you to forgive me?”
Olga sobbed, obviously regretful, “I wish I could go back in time. Can we go back?”
Before Mirabella could respond, Olga started crying again, “Now you’re successful, you don’t recognize me as your mother, right? But over the years, you’ve grown up, and I’ve made sacrifices. Can’t you see how hard I’ve worked?”
Wiping away her tears, regardless of the pain in her knees from kneeling on the hot ground, Olga said in a choked voice, “So many times I came home from work and you were already asleep, I went to your room to tuck you in, touch your little face, you have no idea how much I loved your obedient manner.”
“So many times I wanted to be home with you, but due to work, I had to get updates from your grandma.”
“We wanted to be there as you grew up, but the Melton family needed your dad and me to work hard. So many nights, I’d be away for work, missing you until I was in tears.”
Mirabella looked at her hypocritical face, her patience worn out.
“If I wasn’t the founder of QY, not a musical genius, not a top student, and didn’t have other connections, would you still be here begging for my forgiveness?” Stung by Mirabella’s words, Olga was taken aback, her tears stuck in her eyes.
“If I wasn’t driving a Rolls–Royce today, but riding a bicycle, would you still be here admitting your wrongs?” Mirabella sneered, “You just want to gain from me. Don’t disgrace the title of a mother. You’re not worthy.” “Bella.” Olga didn’t expect her to be so sharp. Before she could say anything else, she was interrupted.
“My ties with the Melton family were severed the moment you put me up for adoption online. I’ve repaid any debt I owed the Melton family for raising me. I’ve never taken advantage of your Melton family. If it wasn’t for grandma, the Melton group would be long gone. Do you still have the nerve to ask for my forgiveness?”
Hearing her words, Olga turned pale, and Demetrius was torn. They never thought their biggest mistake was offending a tycoon like Mirabella.
It was too late to regret now.
“Do you want me to call the security of the parking lot to kick you out, or will you leave on your own?”
They didn’t expect Mirabella to be so cold. This parking lot belonged to the Dawn Department Store. If the security came, they would definitely be kicked out.
Demetrius quickly stepped forward, trying to please Mirabella, “Mirabella, don’t be so cold. If I had money, I would definitely give it to you. It’s just that we’re having a hard time financially. Your grandma is sick and needs money for the hospital. If you’re suing Yoli, we really can’t afford it.“.
“No money, and still shopping?” Mirabella snickered sarcastically, eyeing the gift box in his hands.
