“Instead, why not just give him another hundred million to set up a whole new system.”
“Sure.”
“This new system is crucial for us, and it’s better if our people research it.”
No matter how powerful the other party was, if they had ulterior motives in the future, they’ll be the ones to suffer.
“I get it.” Carl reluctantly let go of this impractical thought.
After ending the cali, Romeo worked on his computer before heading to his bedroom half an hour later.
“Bella, are you asleep yet?”
He knocked on the door, but there was no response.
He wasn’t sure if the girl had covered herself with the blanket since it’s summer and the air conditioning might give her a cold if it’s too cool.
With that in mind, he opened the door to find the room quiet, the breeze lifting the curtains, and the girl lying on the bed like a beautiful painting.
Roméo suddenly wished time could stand still as the peaceful scene in front of him was how life should be.
The white sheets made Mirabella seem like she was in a snowfield. She looked beautiful and petite on the large bed.
Walking over gently, Romeo covered her with the blanket when suddenly her phone fell out from under it.
Just as he picked it up, he noticed the page was still open. Clearly, the little girl had fallen asleep while playing on her phone.
The user name on the profile page of her phone read: Alex.
Mirabella was Alex?
The task bar on the page showed a task worth a hundred million was completed an hour ago. And the specific completion time? She only took thirty–two minutes. And she did it after a date, in her spare time!
Carl was initially amazed, thinking she took half a day because their team took months and still couldn’t crack it.
But it turned out Mirabella didn’t take half a day, but thirty–two minutes!
In just thirty–two minutes, Mirabella solved a problem troubling their team for months!
If Carl knew, he’d probably be in shock, even questioning his life.
Romeo’s gaze fell on Mirabella’s fresh and flawless face. So, this was another identity of Mirabella’s. Carl suggested recruiting this hacker into their team, and having her work for them.
A slight smile curled on Romeo’s lips. How many more identities did this little girl have that he didn’t know about?
Each of her identities was unexpected and surprising to him.
Gently covering her with the blanket, Romeo bent down and kissed her soft lips..
“Rest well.”
Romeo’s gaze lingered on her repeatedly as if he couldn’t get enough. After a while, he locked the phone, put it on the bedside table, and quietly left.
Waking up after who knew how long, Mirabella found the clock pointing to half past four in the afternoon. She had slept very soundly and comfortably by Romeo’s side.
The white curtains in the bedroom fluttered with the wind, just like a beautiful scene from a movie. She picked up her phone, only to find a new order worth a whopping billion for a straightforward task, to be kinder to the people around her.
She was puzzled. What was going on? Did the person place the order by mistake? Was she really going to get a billion for being a little nicer to people? Was this some sick joke? But the money was already transferred into her account, and the task was automatically activated.
Sighing, she opened the chat box and sent a question mark. After that, she got up to tidy up and headed downstairs.
Romeo stood by the huge floor–to–ceiling window, tall and straight. He held a glass of red wine and stared at the scenery outside, deep in thought.
“Didn’t you take a nap?” Mirabella thought Romeo would rest after wrapping up his work. But there he was, standing by the window. Was he dealing with some tricky issue?
“Are you awake? Romeo turned around, placed the wine glass on the waiter’s tray, and walked towards Mirabella.
He gently touched her cheek, gave her a peck, and asked, “Did you stay up late again last night?”
“No.”
“I’ve arranged for afternoon tea. Let’s enjoy it in the garden.” Romeo took her hand, his tone soft.
As the butler placed the items on the garden table, he couldn’t help but steal another glance at Mirabella. Ms. Bella looked even more stunning than the last time he saw her. Perhaps it was because she just woke up, her eyes sparkling like stars in the sky. Mr. McMillian was indeed lucky to have her as his better partner.
“You were sleeping so soundly,” Romeo whispered. “Do you like my bed, or is it my scent?”
Mirabella suddenly realized, “Did you come in earlier? So, my phone,”
Did he see it?
Romeo smiled. She was indeed quick to catch on.
“When I was covering you with the quilt, your phone fell. You forgot to lock the screen.”
“So, you saw everything? The person who placed the order was you?”
“It was Carl who placed the order, but yes, I instructed him to do so.”
It turned out, they initially wanted to hire Mirabella, a top–tier hacker, to crack a system. But when they discovered her true identity, he added another billion to the offer.
No wonder only he would do something like this, spending a billion just to make her treat him a bit better?
“Am I not good enough for you usually?” Mirabella raised an eyebrow.
“You’re pretty good.” Romeo fed her a piece of cake, “But if you could be better,”
“Like how?” How much better could she be?
“Like you feed me for a change. Bella, with your skills, a billion is too little.” Romeo fed her another piece of cake and laughed, “If I knew the top person on the leaderboard was you, I would’ve given youren billion. After all, the money I earn is all for you to spend. Giving you the money in advance is the same.”
Mirabella didn’t expect that the person who wanted to crack the system was him. After some thought, she came up with an idea.
He had placed an order for her to treat him better.
Tonight, she would create a new system for him. That way, the billion he spent wouldn’t go to waste.
At night, David sat on the swing in the garden, his gaze fixed on the direction of the front gate. It was getting late, and Bella hadn’t come home yet. Had she been taken somewhere by Romeo? He wanted to call Romeo but held back. They were probably almost home.
Edith, while massaging Louisa’s shoulders, laughed and said, “David seems to be anxiously waiting for Bella’s return.”
“Let him wait, and he should have come home earlier to look after Bella, Louisa said.
“I heard David was on a variety show He’s super busy and can’t get away.” Edith explained.
“So, for him, making money is more important than looking after Bella?” Louisa retorted.
“Of course, it is David who earns money to give Bella a better life.” Edith laughed, “I heard David gave Bella a no–limit credit card.”
“Really?” Louisa asked in surprise.
“Absolutely true,” Edith confirmed.
Louisa thought to herself, and she should also give Bella a no–limit credit card! She decided to give her one when Bella came home.
After dinner at Moon Lake Bay, Romeo took Mirabella to see a movie. They didn’t book the whole cinema, but like any other couple, they went to the ticket office to buy tickets.
The cinema manager saw Romeo and thought she was seeing things. She rubbed her eyes and found that the man standing in front of her was indeed their CEO, Romeo. The entire mall belonged to him. Was he here to inspect the work? Or. Her eyes–fell on the girl beside Romeo, who was very beautiful. Could it be that Romeo had a girlfriend and he brought her out for a date today to experience the life of ordinary people?
Just as the manager was about to say that the movie tickets could be free, Romeo said, “Treat me as an ordinary customer.”
The manager got it. Romeo was out experiencing life with his girlfriend.
“What movies have been popular with girls recently?” Romeo asked.
David.
The manager replied, “There’s a hot romance film starring David.”
