“He’s taking you to see your grandparents this afternoon?” Although Romeo couldn’t go, he still wanted to prepare a gift to express his feelings.

“There is no need to be so formal.” Mirabella hadn’t expected him to prepare gifts for Grandpa and Grandma. Come to think of it, since they met, she hadn’t given him a gift yet. It’s high time she thought about what to give him.

“I heard that the university entrance exam results are out tomorrow.” Romeo looked at her with concern. “Are you nervous?”

Mirabella was confused. Why was his question the same as her brother’s?

“I’m fine.”

“Do you have a university preference?” Romeo asked gently. “Any university you like, you can get in.”

Mirabella gave a faint smile. “Even if my scores aren’t good enough?”

“Among all universities, it’s all about whether you like them or not. Scores aren’t that important.”

Did he mean to pull some strings for her?

“Let’s talk about it tomorrow.“/Mirabella didn’t have a specific university in mind, but remembering what Grandpa Melton said, she might choose where he was. Though the old man did love to nag.

A while later, Romeo dropped her off at the company door..

Just as Mirabella entered the gate, Dean rushed over to report; “Ms. Bennett, your brother is here!”

“Brother?”

“There’s an emergency meeting in ten minutes. All deputy–level and above employees are to attend, including you.”

“Where is he now?”

“He’s already waiting in the conference room!”

Mirabella handed the things in her hands to Dean to take to her office while she headed to the conference room. Many employees were ahead of her, rushing off, huddled in groups of three or five, discussing.

“I didn’t expect Mr. Collins to personally visit our company!”

“I just bumped into him downstairs. So handsome! His face is good–looking no matter how you look at it!”

“I wonder what kind of girl is worthy of him.”

“Mr. Collins has such a strong presence; I think only someone like Ms. Bennett can handle him, Ms. Bennett.”

They walked into the elevator, about to press the close door button, but found Mirabella was about to step in. They quickly shut their mouths and greeted Mirabella.

“It’s okay; carry on.” Mirabella knew there’d be some gossip among the staff. She stepped into the elevator and pressed the.close door button.

Most of the staff held their breath due to her presence, too scared to speak.

“Why did you stop talking?” Mirabella wanted to hear their chit–chat.

“Ms. Bennett.” One female employee gathered the courage to ask, “Do you think Mr. Collins is handsome?”

Asking if her brother was handsome?

Mirabella answered without hesitation, “Not bad.”

“Is he your ideal type?” The female employee continued, “If Mr. Collins pursued you, would you accept him? Would you be with him?”

Mirabella was shocked.

“No.”

How could she possibly be with her own brother?

“Huh? Why not?” The other employees were puzzled and asked, “There aren’t many young, handsome, and rich men like Mr. Collins in the world, right?”

“Yes, there are.” Mirabella answered without hesitation.

“Huh? There are? Who?” Several employees didn’t know who she was talking about when she asked, “Ms. Bennett, do you have a boyfriend?”

“Ms. Bennett is still so young; what are you guys thinking?”

“Absolutely right! Even if Ms. Bennett really has a boyfriend, he must be a top–notch guy!”

“Ms. Bennett, do you know why Mr. Collins suddenly came for a visit? Is there something important going on? He’s not planning to make cuts, is he?”

“Ah? No way, I’m scared stiff of layoffs.”

The elevator doors dinged open, and several employees hurriedly followed Mirabella, asking anxiously, “Ms. Bennett, is Mr. Collins really going to make cuts? I heard he laid off thousands at the M Country branch last month!

“Oh my, I feel like I could be next.” One of the employees mustered up the courage to grab Mirabella’s clothes, saying anxiously, “Ms. Bennett, if Mr. Collins fires me, you’ve got to have my back!”

“And mine too!”

“What if it’s me getting the chop?” Mirabella teased them with a smirk.

“What?” The employees were all stunned. “If Mr. Collins dares to fire you, we’ll go on strike!”

Mirabella was somewhat surprised and asked with a smirk, “Really?”

“Of course! Without you, the company cannot have this achievement, and so do us!”

“Ms. Bennett, if you get fired, wherever you go, we’ll follow!”

“I’m not joking or brown–nosing. We all see how capable you are. If Mr. Collins fires you, it just shows he’s blind!”

“The future of the company depends on you!”

“Yes, exactly!”

Mirabella’s lips curled into a smile, not expecting to be held in such high esteem by these employees.

She knocked on the conference room door, and a familiar voice came from inside.

““Come in.”

Several employees followed Mirabella in, and upon seeing Hans, they all greeted him, “Good morning, Mr. Collins!”

Mirabella also followed with her greetings.

“Come sit by me.” Hans patted the seat next to him, looking warmly at Mirabella.

Seeing this, everyone thought they were seeing things. Why was Mr. Collins being so friendly to Ms. Bennett? Surely he wouldn’t fire her, right?

Mirabella sat beside Hans, who said, “I’m just here to check in. Everyone, relax!”

He cast his gaze over everyone, but it felt as if he was speaking directly to Mirabella.

Upon hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. As long as there weren’t layoffs!

After a while, once everyone was present, Hans first asked about the company’s recent situation. Several managers mentioned Mirabella.

“Mr. Collins, I don’t know if you’ve heard about the recent issues at the company. If it weren’t for Ms. Bennett, we would have been toast!”

“If it wasn’t for Ms. Bennett lowering herself to accompany me to the design competition, I wouldn’t have won the championship, and the company wouldn’t have gotten ahead. In essence, Ms. Bennett is our hero!”

The one speaking was Molly, who had recently been promoted to design department manager. She looked at Hans and said very seriously, “Since Mr. Collins is here, I request that headquarters reward Ms. Bennett!”
