I was fuming. If Jess didn’t leave Red Moon when she did. Midnight would have turned feral for sure. With how they treated her then.
How could someone be so sick and power hungry that they would stalk a woman from the age of 13 just to take her powers. I turned to the triplets.
“Leo. Zero. Hero. I would like to enter a full long term alliance with Raven Moon. Jess is like a younger sister to me and most of the pack. I know Raven Moon would give their lives to protect her, but I want to be there as well for whatever is needed.”
Leo, Zero, and Hero all looked at each other and then Leo nodded to me.
“We would like that very much Raphael. Jessabelle is our Luna, our love, our reading for breathing. We would move heaven and earth to keep her safe from this man.” one of them said. I guess Jess is the only one to really tell them apart. I thought to myself. I nodded back and said
“Then while Jess sleeps we can draw up a formal treaty and I’ll bring it back for your three to sign. I know you don’t want to leave her right now. Ryan you stay with Jess as well. Mind link me if you need anything.”
Ryan nodded and stood between Jess and the window.
“Sophie, please go with Alpha Raphael to help draw up the treaty. Sasha and Rico will stay here with us.”
With that Odette, Sophie, Jorge, and I went to my office to draw up the treaty. Rose and Stella went to go check on the children and Ryan, Sasha, Rico and the triplets stayed with Jess. I praised to the Moon Goddess that we can catch this son of a bitch before she turns 24 and we don’t have a whole lot of time. Jessabelle’s 24th birthday was in 3 months.
Jess’s POV
I was dark. I looked around and saw nothing but darkness.
“Midnight? Are you there?”
Nothing. She wasn’t or couldn’t speak to me. It feels too real for this to be a dream, and I felt Midnight’s presence, but still heard nothing from her. Then out of nowhere I heard a woman’s soft gentle voice.
“Come child, and fear not. You are safe.”
I looked around again, and spotted a giant silver cherry blossom tree. How the hell did I miss this? I looked around the tree and saw Midnight curled up like a puppy with her head in the lap of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She had long silver hair that went all the way to the ground. Piercing, but yet calm and clear blue eyes. Her skin was pale like snow. She was wearing a moonstone pendant, and right on her neck was what looked like a tribal wolf head tattoo.
I didn’t know who she was, but Midnight was an overly grown puppy next to her. So I know she was no threat. She smiled gently as she spoke.
“Hello my dear Jessabelle. I am so happy to finally meet you.”
I was surprised. I never told her my name. I wondered if Midnight did.
“No child. I was the one that created you and Midnight. I know you are confused right now, but please listen. Time is short.”
“Who are you miss?”
I finally asked. She smiled
“I go by many names. Humans refer to me by the name Selene, but my children refer to me as-“
I gasped
“The Moon Goddess?!”
She smiled and nodded. I dropped to my knees and bowed my head. I was so confused and yet I feel at peace.
“Haha no need to bow child. I had Sasha send you to me because I needed to speak with you.”
I looked up and asked
“What would the Moon Goddess want to speak to me about? I am just a warrior that just found alpha mates.”
I glanced down.
“No you are a very special wolf. Have you noticed your eyes? In human form they are a perfect mixture of ocean blue and forest green, but in Midnight’s form they are…” she paused. Waiting for me to finish the sentence.
“Her right eye is a deep ocean blue with a white patch of fur shaped like a crescent moon around it, and her left eye is a deep forest green.”
The Moon Goddess smiled at me.
“Your eyes hold your true gifts. They are the key to your power.”
