His moan pulled at her as the vibe sent ripples under her skin. She wanted to give Jake the most exquisite pleasure. She put all her weight and strength into each thrust, taking him harder, faster.

Jake’s moans lit a spark in her veins. Her core was swollen and wet. She loved watching him thrash underneath her. Sweat trailed down her back, and her muscles ached as the vibe pulsed straight onto her clit. Her knees shook as she took him with a ferocious pace.

She felt Jake’s body tense underneath her, his muscles shaking violently. Mia knew he was about to find his release. She tensed her buttocks and gave one final plunge. Jake’s spine arched as he bellowed. The elemental, deeply masculine sound of surrender echoed around her before Jake collapsed onto the mattress.

Mia leaned forward and Jake moaned at the deeper penetration of her dildo. She swiveled her hips, and his body shook from the overstimulation. Mia knew it was time to stop. She placed a kiss on his neck as she heard the creak of the steps behind her.

“Thank you,” she whispered in Jake’s ear.

He didn’t lift his head. “You owe me.”

Mia smiled. She hadn’t agreed to that, but this was one time she looked forward to returning the favor.

After taking a quick shower in her minuscule bathroom, Mia threw on a bathrobe and didn’t glance at Jake, naked and spent, reclining on the bed. She hurried down the stairs, her bare feet slapping against the steps. The thin cotton clung to her wet body and was in danger of becoming transparent. Water streamed from her long hair, already twisting into sodden ropes.

She should have taken the time to towel off, but she needed to catch Olivia before she went to work. Mia found her friend in the cheery yellow kitchen, her focus on the colorful tea mug she held with both hands.

“Isn’t this a great morning?” Mia asked as she strode into the room, ignoring the twinges of her sore muscles. She headed toward the refrigerator and opened the door. “I’m starving.”

“You are very chipper this morning.” Olivia said, not sounding pleased about it at all.

“Of course I am. I went through my whole goody drawer.” She grabbed a small container of yogurt and ripped the foil lid off. “Now I have extra room in my car.”

Olivia didn’t seem to be listening. She continued to stare at her tea, as if the brown liquid held answers to a deep, dark mystery.

“You are more than welcome to take anything in the box,” Mia said as she grabbed a spoon and swirled it into the pink tinged yogurt, “because it’s just going into the trash. It’s not like I can donate it to charity.”

Olivia absently nodded but didn’t say anything. Mia licked the yogurt off the spoon while studying her friend. Olivia’s behavior worried her. Had she gone too far? She had tried to pique Olivia’s curiosity, but had Mia shocked her so much she was ready to run back to her safe little haven?

“After all,” Mia continued with her spoon in her mouth, “we share everything.”

Those last three words jolted Olivia, and she sat up straight in her chair. “Mia,” she said very carefully, “I was thinking. . . .”

“Yeah?” Mia asked as casually as possible as she bit the inside of her mouth. It was too tempting to rush and complete Olivia’s question.

Olivia slowly turned to face her. “Are you still up for swapping guys?”

“Yes,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders as victory swelled inside her chest. “After all, I’m the one who offered.”

Mia didn’t know what exactly tempted Olivia. Was it the possibility of dominating a man? Or was the main draw the idea of having sex with Jake?

She wasn’t going to question it, but Mia knew she had to warn her friend of the consequences. “If we do this, there is no going back.”

“I know,” Olivia replied and looked down at her mug again. She gnawed on her bottom lip. “Will Jake do it?”

“Of course,” Mia answered with confidence as the tension left her body. Right after breakfast, she’d let Jake know that Olivia had agreed. Mia couldn’t wait to see his expression.

Jake would do anything she asked, never requiring conditions or guarantees. She didn’t know why Jake trusted her, other than he was probably more devious than she was. Mia frowned and pushed the thought away. She could handle Jake, and now wasn’t the time to question that.

“Okay,” Olivia said in a shaky voice as she nervously fiddled with her long blond hair. “Now I just have to convince Ryan.”

Mia smiled. “Leave it to me.” She knew that men were visual creatures. All they needed was the possibility laid out and ready for them. A little nakedness would also help her argument.

Olivia watched Mia carefully. “You’ve done this before? Swapping partners?”

Mia quickly schooled her face. “Don’t you think I would have told you something like that?” she asked, sidestepping the question.

“True. We share everything” – Olivia’s smile grew naughty – “including men.”

Ryan stirred awake when he heard someone move around in the bedroom. He blinked his eyes open and saw the pink-and-green floral wallpaper. He was in Olivia’s bed.

When Olivia had inherited the house, she didn’t do a lot of redecorating. Olivia wasn’t big on changes. The bedroom was very feminine and old-fashioned, from the floral wallpaper to the lace curtains. She had a pale green overstuffed chair, a chest of drawers, and a canopy bed.

Every time Ryan stepped into the room, he felt like he was in foreign territory. Once he moved in here, he would get rid of every frilly, girly thing. The only thing that would remain would be the bed, minus the canopy. The bed had proven to be sturdy on many occasions.

But those plans were academic. No matter how much he brought up the subject, Olivia had not invited him to move in. He was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen.

Ryan heard the careful sliding of wood against wood. He tilted his head and saw Olivia closing the drawer before tiptoeing to the overstuffed chair.

She got ready to go to the hospital where she worked in the lab. The blue medical scrubs she wore were baggy on her petite frame. He never liked how her uniform concealed her small curves from him, and his hands itched to slide under the material and roam over her warm body.

She wore very little makeup except for a swipe of lip gloss, which was usually chewed off before she got to the hospital. Her long, wavy blond hair was pulled back into a bouncy ponytail. A few wisps were already escaping around her face.

The diamond studs he had given her for Christmas twinkled in her ears. Heat flared inside him when he saw them. Every time she wore those earrings, Ryan saw it as a sign of his possession. It was the only way he had branded her.

Or maybe not, he thought as he caught sight of a love bite behind her ear. He smiled as the heat roared in his veins. The colorful bruise was small but primal. Anyone who saw it would know that she had been taken.

He shouldn’t be proud of the mark. He had gone too far last night. Ryan rubbed the sleep from his eyes and swallowed back a sigh of regret. He had tried to hold back, but all he managed to do was let it build up until he was out of control.

Ryan propped up on one arm. Olivia whirled around and saw him before he could say good morning.

“Oh, you’re awake,” she said in a high, startled voice. “I’m running late. Would you lock up for me?”

“Sure.” He noticed she wasn’t making eye contact. Her gaze darted everywhere else in the room. That was never a good sign. “Are you okay?”
