I stared at my wife for a second too long, processing what she was doing, before I growled, not wanting her to do anything stupid. As strong as she was, the last thing that I needed or wanted to deal with was something like this. An issue with Alphas was not something that anyone liked going through, and considering the fact that this was still his place, we didn’t want to be crossing limits, at least not with the elders who I know would hear of this.
The Alpha raised an eyebrow at the two of us before shaking his head at Scarlett. He knew that she was going to have to stop eventually. But it wasn’t because I saw her as weak as he would assume. It was to protect her because I knew that she would be more than willing to tear the man apart if she could, and that wasn’t something that I wanted right now. To say the least, I wanted to ensure that she, like our daughter, was safe. This was a fight that I didn’t want her taking part of. however, knowing that we still had a deal, and regardless of the conflict, the man still needed to ensure the safety of my family, he knew to stop his pack members from moving. That would have caused an issue if they did. That was something that I knew for fact.
The man’s eyes widened in surprise as he caught sight of the blood, and I wrapped my arm around Scarlett, pushing her behind me as I looked at the man. Her c*hest rose and fell with each breath that she took, and I couldn’t help but frown as I tried processing and understanding what she was on about or what she did. However, she didn’t seem to be affected or regretful. If anything, I knew that she was proud of what she did. She didn’t even see the danger behind her action, but then again, I didn’t expect her to at this point. The woman did what she believed was right, and if I was going to be honest, I liked it.
“You are going to f*ucking pay for this.” He said, glaring daggers at the two of us. I growled at the man, this time, calling my pack members for support. The last thing that I needed right now was for issues to occur, especially not with knowing that my daughter was upstairs and could be affected if things went wrong. That was the last thing that I wanted to deal with right now.
“Why? Because I chose to want to put you in place? You have done nothing but threaten me and my husband, and I simply chose to respond back.” Scarlett said, glaring at the man who shook his head at her. Her c*hest rose and fell with each breath that she took, and I had to fight back the urge of chuckling at the reaction of the Alpha who was trying to process everything that was happening.
The pack members surrounded the door, and their shadows filled the house as they stood by the windows. Alpha Vladimir looked at them, and the pack members seemed to tense as they waited for further orders. I knew that this was not going to end well. If not today, then later. But I wasn’t stupid, this wasn’t something that Vladimir was going to drop, and I couldn’t help but worry about the outcome of what was going to happen. But for now, I knew that I needed to get both my child and my wife out of this before things broke loose. “Go and get your child and leave.
Otherwise, so help me God, you will regret needing my help to begin with.” He said, glaring daggers at me. I looked at Scarlett and nodded at her to go, knowing that leaving them alone was going to be dangerous.
My beauty chose to mess with the Pakhan, the Russian don, as her first task as my Luna, and though I was somewhat impressed by the fact that she wasn’t afraid of him, I couldn’t help but want to shake my head at her action, knowing that she could have gotten herself killed.
My wife’s heart raced as she entered the room before taking a deep breath. The mating bond growing stronger than ever as I felt her fear coursing through her veins, making me frown in confusion.
Scarlett walked back downstairs in a few seconds, frowning as if she had seen a ghost. Her heart raced against her ribcage and I couldn’t help the frown that formed on my face as I saw her shaking hands which were filled with blood, making my heart drop before her next words left her l*ips. “What have you done to my daughter?”
I frowned at her statement, and I couldn’t help but feel like my heart was about to pop out of my c*hest as I heard and processed her words. She was speaking to Vladimir, her tone more scared than it has ever been, but she still held her ground. “I swear, if a hair is harmed…”
“I do not f*ucking hurt kids, what are you talking about?” He asked, stopping her. Scarlett shook her head as she ran her fingers through her hair, making me clench my fists as I tried processing what was going on. “I suggest that you f*ucking speak…”
“My child is not here.” She said, stopping the Alpha. “Your nurses are f*ucking dead, and my daughter is not in her crib, Vladimir…”
