I kept my eyes on my husband, frowning in confusion as I processed his words.
Not only was he angry, but the fact that the whole pack was outside was something that scared me. Mostly because I didn’t even know how he found them.
Alexander didn’t bother looking at me as he kept his eyes on the gun that was in front of him, and Alpha Vladimir didn’t flinch.
“Take your daughter and leave.” Vladimir said, glaring at Alexander who let out an amused chuckle. It was then that I realized why Alpha Vladimir wanted to use the fact that he believed that Alex was weaker now to claim the pack. The man couldn’t fight Alexander, and that was something that he knew. “And if I decide not to?” Alexander asked, taking a step toward the Alpha. The gun’s muzzle brushed over his c*hest, and I had to fight back closing my eyes as I feared the outcome of what was going to happen. Alexander was playing a dangerous game, and it was one that I didn’t want to see considering the fact that it could risk our daughter’s safety. I didn’t know what game he was trying to play nor did I know what he was trying to prove but either way, I didn’t like it.
“Then you are going to pay in the worst of possible ways, and I will not start with you.” He said, looking at me over my husband’s shoulder. “If you think that your pack being outside would stop me from pressing this trigger, then you are very wrong, and believe me, I will not be shooting you.”
I knew that he was referring to me, knowing that it would be something that breaks Alexander. An Alpha only weakened when his mate was affected. And if I died, it was as if he killed Alexander, at least, his wolf.
“What are you going to gain out of what you are doing, Alpha Vladimir?” I asked, trying to test my waters. I knew that it was risky what I was doing, but I wanted to know what he had in mind. Maybe there was something that he knew, or maybe he was just enjoying the way he was taunting us. Either way, I was curious about it, and I was also trying to buy us some time. To say the least, maybe get the gun away from him.
“You haven’t been asked to speak to ask me such a question, little Luna. Or must I call you omega?” He asked, hitting me with the fact that he knew that I was demoted. Though I did carry an Alpha’s blood, it didn’t mean that I was one. If anything, I wasn’t, not by my heart even. The pain that I held and the weakness that I felt was one that I couldn’t describe no matter how h*ard I tried, but I knew not to say anything about it. If anything, I knew to stand strong regardless of how weak I felt.
“You can call me whatever it is that you want. It will not change who I am inside, who I am for my mate, and who I will be in the future.” I said, glaring at the man who raised an amused eyebrow. The funny part about all of this was the fact that I knew that he was not only enjoying this, but was impressed. He wouldn’t be getting closer to me if he wasn’t, it was something that I knew for fact, and that was something that I didn’t like much. But I knew better than to say anything about it. To say the least, the man was playing with dangerous fire, and the funniest part about this was, so were we. “Why are you doing this, Alpha Vladimir? What it is that you are trying to prove? Moreover, what it is that you are going to gain with everything that you’re trying to play with?” I asked, shaking my head at the man. “You chose your bargain, and we were more than willing to pay our part of the deal. But now it seems to me that you want more, and that is something that I don’t understand.”
“What is it that you don’t understand, little wolf?” He asked, giving me a cold smile. “Care to enlighten me with the facts? Or are you going to keep playing the game of riddles as if we were a bunch of eighteen year olds?”
“Not at all.” I said, standing in front of my husband. Alexander hissed, and I knew that his wolf grew nervous at the fact that the gun now faced me. But I had my own plans in this.
If the Alpha thought that I was going to let him put my husband in a tough situation, then he was very wrong. I knew what it was to lose my love once, the man was right in front of me for years, and yet, I was barely able to look at him let alone speak to him. The two of us have lost each other for years, and that is not something that I want. “You know for fact that we are going through a h*ard time, and yet, you are trying to find a way toward me. I chose to stop you, and yet, you chose to threaten my husband with a gun. The threat lies on you killing me to kill him;
therefore, I want to know what your problem is with me, and what I can do to fix it. You know, negotiations are always open in our world and in your mind, you seem to forget…”
“Why the f*uck would you think that I want anything to do with you?” He asked, stopping me.
“You don’t.” I said before slowly wrapping my hand around the muzzle of the gun and stanching it from him. I turned the gun before he could press the trigger before turning it to point it at him. His eyes widened in surprise and his pack members growled, but I didn’t care enough to put the gun down. “But why the f*uck do you want to break my husband?”
I glared at the man as I knew that the gun was loaded and ready before putting index finger over the trigger, threatening the man to shoot him. His pack members froze and he nodded at them to stay still, clearly knowing that I was not joking about this.
“You have thirty seconds to answer. Otherwise, you start losing a limb in each round…”
