(Alexander)

I kept my arm wrapped around my beauty as she lay on my c*hest, taking deep and slow breaths as she slept.

This was the first night of us being intimate since we got married, and I couldn’t help the smile that was on my face after it.

The fact that she was willing to let me t*ouch her after everything that we’ve been through meant more to me than I could admit. Mostly because I knew that I have hurt her more than anything, and the fact that I knew that she was patient and was true to her word of sticking with methrough it all made me smile.

“I give you my word, Scarlett, I am going to prove my love to you. One way or the other, I will make sure that everyone knows how much I f*ucking love you.” I whispered, k*issing her temple before pulling away. I knew that I needed to check on Nasia. I haven’t seen her properly since I have come here, and that was something that I was completely against. If anything, I knew that even Scarlett didn’t like not being around her.

I slowly got up from bed and walked toward her nursery where her nurses watched over her. “She is a beautiful little one.”

“With parents like hers, it is impossible for her not to be. The Luna is a calm woman, and needless to say, she seems to be taking good care of her mate and daughter. It is just sad that he doesn’t cherish her as much as she cherishes him.” The other nurse said, making me frown. The fact hat they heard our argument wasn’t something that I liked. But I knew that they were right.

“We shouldn’t be interfering. The last thing that we need is to get in trouble.” Her friend said, stopping her.

“We are not interfering, but the two of us know for fact that the poor woman deserves a lot better. The man left her alone throughout the whole day and we were practically begging her to eat. And rather than letting her anger out, at least, toward the man, she was telling her daughter how great he would be to her as a father and how much he loved her. The least that she could do was vent.” She said, her voice above a whisper.

“Whatever the situation is, it is up to the Luna, we are not to point out what we think is right or wrong. She knows what she wants and can fend for herself if she wants to I doubt that she would need us to do it for her; therefore, Evergreen, unless you want the two of us to get in trouble, I do suggest that you drop the topic.” She said, glaring at the woman before getting up from the chair that she was sitting on. She walked toward my daughter’s crib, and that was when I decided to knock on the door.

The nurses were obviously human, otherwise, they would have noticed my presence long ago. However, I was sure not to comment about what I heard.

Both women looked down at their feet as they watched me walk inside, and I smiled, leaning in to carry my child, pretending that I didn’t hearthem. To say the least, I was thankful for their words after what I heard from Carter today. The man was not only a prick who was begging for his life to be taken, but was also daring enough to think that he could challenge me over my wife. The fact that he forgot his limit was something, maybe he just chose to throw it aside, knowing that I wasn’t his Alpha anymore. But that too wasn’t something that I was bothered with. He could manage himself if he wanted to.

What bothered me was the way he looked at my wife as if she was the worst person alive. The fact that he made her feel as insecure as she was angered me and was something that I couldn’t accept. She didn’t say a word, and has tried to stand strong for my sake yesterday. But I wasn’t blind, I knew her well enough to know that his words have hurt her.

“Has she been fed? Or does she need to drink her milk?” I asked, looking at the women over my shoulder as I held my little princess in my arms. She cooed at my scent, and I turned to look at the two women who looked at me as if they were seeing a ghost. I couldn’t blame them, in their minds, they were in more trouble than they could afford. And that was something that I couldn’t blame them for. Any other Alpha would have indeed caused them trouble, but not me, I didn’t have time for that to begin with. And the fact that they were telling the truth has excused them a lot more than I could think of describing.

“Yes, Alpha. She has been fed and was changed before she fell asleep.” The nurse said, and I nodded.

“You two can go and rest for the night. I will take my daughter to my and my wife’s room.” I said, and the two women frowned in confusion. “I’m sorry, but Alpha, don’t you need her things? Her crib…?”

“If I need them, I can manage coming here and getting them myself. You can go and rest, my wife and I would tend to our daughter if she needs anything.” I said, looking at my little jewel as if she was my most important thing in the world. If anything, it was true. My little angel was the best thing that I could have gotten in this world. And the fact that it was Scarlett who gave me to her was something that I couldn’t help but feel thankful for.

My mind went back to Delilah, the woman that I thought loved me only to feel my c*hest bum with fire before shaking my head.

She, just like everyone else, was going to pay for what we have gone through; however, at this point, I knew to be patient. Carter’s words still played in my head, and I couldn’t help but wonder where things were going to take us. If anything, my parents were in on this too. And that was something that didn’t slip my mind.

“We will see you in the morning. You can assure Alpha Vladimir that it was me who wanted our little one sleeping by our side. It is something that would make my wife smile, and it is what I am aiming for.” I said, calmly letting them know that I heard what they said before walking out of the room toward my and Scarlett’s. “Alex? Is Nasia…?”

“She is fine, baby girl.” I said, stopping Scarlett who frowned in confusion when she saw me bringing our daughter into the room. “But I figured that it has been a long while since we were a real family. And you know, it is something that I want us to go back to, what do you think?”
