Chapter 187 – A Little Princess’s Journey from Darkness to Light Novel

Why was it so difficult for them to comprehend things that even children understood?

Lilly became engulfed in a state of confusion…

The harem spirit looked at Roxie and said, “Your mother deserved what happened to her. However, you deserve a second chance at life. Do you want that?”

Roxie chuckled suddenly and shook her head. “No, I want to be with my mother.”

“She’s still my mother, no matter how evil she was…”

Roxie had also killed many people and deserved to die, just like her mother.

Especially that poor girl Jane… Roxie felt even more guilty for using her to lure people into the water in the past two days.

Roxie flew towards the jar of souls and disappeared in a poof.

The jar lay silent on the ground, and a ray of light shone across it, making its bright red color even more eye-catching.

Lilly picked it up and wiped it gently. She

touched her bracelet, and the jar instantly attached itself.

Blake walked over and lifted her up. “What’s wrong, Lilly?”

This was the first time Lilly had successfully captured a spirit, even though it was just a resentful spirit… she should have felt good about it.

Instead, she felt strangely empty.

Confused, she frowned and told the story of the mother and daughter spirits.

The child asked, “The auntie spirit drowned herself, and Roxie drowned while trying to save her. Why did the auntie spirit blame others?”

“Jane was innocent and around the same age as Roxie. Why didn’t the auntie spirit just let her go?”

“Also, Jane’s mom spent the past two days looking for Jane in a panic… but she said hurtful things to Jane before she drowned. Why?”

Jane only mentioned that she was at the river, but her mother said such hurtful things. She told her daughter to die and jump if she dared…

“Jane is dead, and it’s all because her mother didn’t care about her! Why did her mother have to blame the rescue team?”

Lilly didn’t understand any of it.

Blake thought of the middle-aged woman who kept causing trouble in the water even though she couldn’t swim.

Even after Jane’s body was found, she refused to accept the truth, assaulting the rescue team members and accusing them of killing her daughter…

He carried Lilly to the dock, where the cool night breeze soothed their frustrations.

Then he said, “Roxie’s mother hated herself for causing her daughter’s death. She could have just washed the sheets with the washing machine, but she went to the river instead and unexpectedly killed both of them.”

“That middle-aged woman never thought that the words she said in anger would lead to her daughter’s actual death.”

“They both share the same kind of regret, with no way to change things. So, to feel better about themselves, they blamed others.”

It wasn’t just Roxie’s and Jane’s mothers. Many parents tend to blame others for the pain they inflict on their children.

Blake reached out and petted Lilly’s head. “Cheer up. You did great today.”

“Besides, something good came out of it. Roxie learned her lesson in the end, didn’t she? There’s always a silver lining.”

“You can’t always focus on the negative. Light should always be sought, no matter how small…”

Blake’s voice was warm and gentle, his gaze tender like never before. He was comforting Lilly in his own way.

Lilly lay on Blake’s shoulder, pondering his words before finally nodding. “Yes, that’s true!”

Daddy was right. There is always a positive side to things, you just have to find it!

By the time everyone got home, Lilly had fallen asleep from exhaustion.

Anthony was also tired. He instinctively opened his laptop to work, but ended up yawning and realizing he was tired too.

He was a little surprised. He had been going to bed earlier and earlier these days…

Anthony prepared for bed and lay down. He thought he would have trouble falling asleep, but he dozed off almost instantly.

Meanwhile, Jean’s night had just begun.

Lilly had given her the latest cellphone, which could connect to the internet.

Ever since she started following Lilly around and not being allowed out, she had become addicted to social media.

She would scroll for hours at night, getting restless the moment she put her phone down and picking it back up again. From watching videos to reading comments, she did it all.

Jean rolled around in bed, trying to hold in her laughter to avoid waking Lilly up. Eventually, she floated out of bed, planning to go somewhere else to continue using her phone. Maybe downstairs, or on the roof, or in the branches.

But as she raised her head, she saw Blake sitting on the sofa.

She immediately turned off her phone, not noticing the flash of Blake’s video on the screen for a second…

Earlier, Lilly had given everyone a manicure, and the tools were still on the first floor. Blake was in the middle of removing his nail polish with the remover…

Jean found it hilarious and burst into laughter, taking advantage of the fact that Blake couldn’t see or hear her before going outside to continue using her phone.

Blake was speechless.

She glanced at Drake’s camera on the sofa.

She didn’t know what to say.

It was a good thing the two of them didn’t plan to interact much.

Jean understood that she would have to be reborn, and her only wish was for Blake to be a good father to Lilly. That was already taken care of.

As for everything before?

Ha… she was already dead. What was the point of asking for so much?

As for Blake, he hadn’t thought much since finding out that Jean was living in Lilly’s jar of souls.

He had lost control then and didn’t remember much. He considered himself lucky that Lilly was born.

The incident from before was his fault, and all he could do now was take good care of Lilly and take care of the Crawfords for Jean.

Nothing else mattered.

This was good enough. There was no need for anything else.

Blake was about to put the camera away when he heard the sound of one of the videos Jean was watching.

“The Full Story: Finale – Internet Superstar Lilly Crawford Has No Reaction To Cold Dead Body. Is There More To The Little Girl Who Questioned The Internet In Tears?”

Blake froze!

Jean was furious too, as she had been scrolling. Unfortunately, all she could do was watch. She couldn’t leave comments like real people.

“You *sshole, you’re only doing this for attention!” She cursed loudly.

Blake’s gaze turned cold.

Crawford had gone all out to take care of hundreds of channels and profiles trying to insult Lilly or use her for views, only for someone else to do the same thing now?!

His eyes flickered with anger…
