Filed to story: A Little Princess's Journey from Darkness to Light Novel
A few adults crowded over, attempting to pull Lilly away.
Blake had just emerged from the mud. Seeing this, he growled, “How dare you touch my daughter!”
The fierceness in his voice frightened a few people, causing them to withdraw their hands.
He surveyed his surroundings. “No one fell into the water. I checked.”
Everyone else took in his appearance, his clothes soaked. They fell silent.
The man hurriedly asked, “Did you go down there?”
Blake nodded. “I went. No one drowned.”
Everyone found this incredibly strange, and confusion filled the air.
Yes, Blake had promised Lilly that he wouldn’t go into the water before going to the banyan tree, and Lilly had given him an amulet as well.
He had lied. He hadn’t gone into the water and was planning to pull her ashore before she got too far away. However, he realized that something was very wrong and immediately returned.
So, he lied. He didn’t go into the water but was going to call for the bots to come instead of having ordinary people jump in.
But then, a middle-aged woman pushed through the crowd with a bewildered expression as she shouted, “That’s my daughter, that’s my daughter…”
She ran towards the river, screaming, and jumped in without hesitation, continuing to cry out, “Jane, Jane!”
“Jane, Mommy’s here! Jane…”
“Come back!” Blake called out coldly.
But the woman paid him no attention, swimming further into the river.
All of this happened suddenly, and no one knew where the woman had come from.
Yet she had jumped into the river, and the water level reached her chest before she was knocked over and began to struggle.
“Ahh… help…” she instinctively shouted.
Everyone didn’t know what to do. “She can’t swim! What was she thinking, my God!”
The man was about to jump in again when Blake stopped him with a raised hand as he spoke on the phone. “I’ll get the boats to come over.”
The livestreamers started yelling,
“The poor lady is going to drown!”
“The boats are too far away, they won’t make it in time!”
The man looked over and wanted to jump again. Blake firmly blocked him, preventing him from entering the water.
Seeing Blake repeatedly stop him, the man finally lost his temper and shouted, “There’s a life at stake here! What the hell are you doing?”
The crowd began to panic as well. “Yes, yes, he can swim! Let him go!”
“Come on, hurry up! She’s not going to make it!”
“What’s happening here? Both the kid and the man are being a nuisance. Are they so indifferent because it’s not happening to them?”
Blake saw that the man wasn’t listening to him and knocked him down with a flying kick, saying to Lilly, “Darling, hold him down!”
Lilly immediately climbed onto the man’s back and sat on him.
The man: …
He struggled for a moment and realized he couldn’t get up.
Blake glared at the crowd. “I said, no one is going into the water!”
The crowd couldn’t retaliate and grew increasingly anxious, resorting to hurling insults and abuse.
Blake paid them no mind. He made a few calls and received a positive response.
The nearest boat came rushing over.
Blake estimated the distance. The boat should arrive in two minutes.
A person can be saved within four to six minutes after drowning and can be rescued within one to two minutes after they have drowned.
Even if the woman had stopped struggling, she would be saved if she received help within two minutes.
In other words, as long as the boat arrived in two minutes, she would be fine. She would just cough up some water and be completely fine.
The sun was setting, its rays shining on the woman in the water. Blake suddenly thought of one risk: the vengeful spirit might drag the woman underwater –
But Blake didn’t really care if that happened.
Call him cold-hearted or heartless, but a life was just a life. Why drag other innocent people down because these individuals refused to listen?
The crowd began to curse at Blake. Even the livestreamers joined in with anger.
“This man is completely heartless! He has a child too! No wonder his daughter is just as evil as he is. It truly runs in the family!”
“Does this man have a heart? How can he be so cold-hearted?”
“He’s making it seem like there might be danger in the water, but there’s a life at stake here! Are we really going to witness a life end before our eyes and do nothing?”
“What a phony! He thinks he’s doing good, but he’s clearly just trying to gain popularity!”
Harvard was the only livestreamer who remained silent, but excitement flickered in his gaze.
He quickly pulled out two phones as soon as he heard someone shout, “Someone has fallen into the water!” and now he had three different angles capturing Lilly, Blake, and the woman.
All of these shots were going to be amazing content!
Harvard knew very well that this was going to make him popular in search results. No one was going to cover this event as thoroughly as he would.
He planned to edit several videos in a row and upload them every half an hour! Yes, this was definitely going to make him go viral – Harvard was confident that he would become a sensation!
Just then, someone exclaimed in shock.
“Look over there!”
As the sun set over the river, all that could be seen was a blond female body floating. She was wearing a gray and white miniskirt.
It was evident that she was dead, as she floated lifelessly…
Just as everyone stood in shock and horror, a terrifying sight unfolded.
The lifeless body raised her hand, pulling the woman down to the depths of the ocean!
“Argh…”
Cries and screams echoed along the riverbank.
As the sun set, a cool breeze swept through the garden, causing everyone to shiver with fear.
“What just happened?”
“Did I lose my mind?”
“Forget about that! Save her, save her!”
However, no one dared to go near the water anymore. The sight had been too terrifying. If that blonde girl had truly been a corpse, she would have dragged someone underwater. Who would dare to venture down there?
