They were all too eager.

Lilly said that finding the soul fragments was important, but they always wanted to remind her of the past, hoping it would trigger her memories…

Jean silently apologized, “I’m sorry, but I really don’t have any recollection.”

Edward quickly interjected, “You don’t need to apologize. Jean, you never have to say sorry.”

Gilbert added, “It’s late. Go and rest.”

Jean wanted to say that ghosts don’t need rest, but in the end, she remained silent, nodded, and floated away.

Edward stared intently at the camera until Jean disappeared from view.

“Oh… if only I could see Jean in person,” he sighed.

Gilbert put away the camera and asked, “Why? Do you want to see the spirit?”

Edward mumbled, “Is it even possible? That kid Josh can see them, right? Speaking of which, it’s strange. Why can’t we see ghosts, but Josh can see them often…”

Not to mention Lilly, their extraordinary little girl.

However, Josh had never seen a ghost before Lilly arrived.

Could it be that children’s third eye was not completely closed, making them different from adults?

…

Josh tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep, his mind consumed by thoughts of capturing ghosts.

Now, Lilly, Father, and Uncle were all focused on Aunt Jean, but he was more concerned about his sister, Lilly.

He had to catch ghosts and fill the jar with them as soon as possible, or else… he might lose his younger sister too.

“Let’s suppose x represents evil ghosts, y represents ordinary grieving ghosts, and z represents severe ghosts…”

His sister’s master mentioned that more and more ghosts were gathering around Aunt Jean.

Suddenly, an idea struck him – could he design a ghost-catching net to capture a hundred ys at once?!

Evil ghosts and severe ghosts were uncommon, but there were many ordinary grieving ghosts!

Didn’t this mean that the KPI could be achieved in one go?

“Brilliant!” Josh immediately stood up and turned on the light.

Since Pablo mentioned that even ghosts couldn’t enter, Josh was completely unprepared, thinking that there would be no ghosts with Master around…

Inside and outside Crawford’s Manor, ghosts roamed faintly.

A black cat arched its back, meowed, and quickly leaped onto the roof of the Crawford family’s main building, as if startled.

Suddenly, it seemed to collide with something, and it tumbled and fought.

Unbeknownst to the black cat, Pablo had set up a soul-absorbing streamer in a hidden spot on the roof, and it was accidentally swept away by the cat’s tail.

The black cat let out a strange scream and had another skirmish before fleeing in fear from the edge of the roof, disappearing into the flower garden.

In the dead of night, under the lamplight, Josh wrote fervently. As the wind blew past him, a female ghost in a red dress suddenly appeared behind him, standing faintly in the background…

Josh sensed something unusual. When he glanced up, he caught sight of the reflection of the glass door on the bookcase. To his astonishment, there was a red-clad female ghost resting on his shoulder!

“…”

“Ahhh wooo–“

In the dead of night, a piercing scream shattered the silence.

Josh sprinted for his life, desperate to find Lilly without delay.

To his surprise, when he opened the door, he was confronted with a corridor on the second floor teeming with ‘people’. At first glance, there were at least twenty or thirty of them!

Upon hearing Josh open the door, they all turned their heads and fixed their gaze on him.

In the late-night corridor, a group of ‘people’ stood silently outside the door, not uttering a word.

Anyone would be terrified!

Josh’s scalp tingled, his eyes locked in place, as he feigned sleepwalking and tremulously made his way towards Lilly’s room.

“Don’t see me… don’t see me…” Josh silently pleaded in his heart.

However, the red-clad female ghost slithered off his shoulder like a snake, her face now directly facing Josh’s, her white eyes piercing into him.

“Hey hey… kid, can you see me?” the red-clad female ghost whispered into Josh’s ear.

Josh strained his eyes to cross, continuing to move forward with stiffness.

The red-clad female ghost chuckled, “Are you pretending to sleepwalk… You were doing your homework just now, you weren’t asleep!”

As she spoke, her face suddenly split in two, her eyes becoming incredibly terrifying, “Come down and keep me company!!!”

Josh was overcome with fear, unable to control himself any longer. He ran wildly, shouting as he went, “Wuuu, sister… help me, sister!”

He passed through the figures of those ‘people’, and the ghosts emitted eerie noises from their throats, battling with the zombies from the apocalypse.

Josh ran desperately, even though Lilly’s room was right in front of him, he couldn’t escape no matter how hard he tried.

Upon hearing the commotion, Blake was the first to emerge, followed by Anthony.

In the silent corridor, Josh ran back and forth, yelling, his appearance was very peculiar, and he couldn’t run beyond that distance no matter what.

Blake focused on Josh’s feet, lowered his voice, and said, “Possessed?”

Anthony frowned, “It’s possible.”

The two exchanged glances, and the first thing that came to mind was Lilly.

But…

The little girl was sound asleep now.

There were still three or four hours until dawn, could Josh hold on for that long?

(Josh: Dad, I ‘thank’ you for that!)

At that moment, Edward, who had been awakened, also opened the door. He saw Josh crying and pacing in the corridor, and was taken aback.

“Josh, what are you doing?”

Edward’s voice was quite loud.

Josh was startled and trembled violently.

Suddenly, Josh fixed his gaze and smiled.

A droplet of saliva dripped from his mouth, like that of a foolish child.

“Hey…hey!”

“Abaa abaa abaa!”

Anthony, “…”
