Chapter 106 – A Little Princess’s Journey from Darkness to Light Novel

Lilly innocently said to Kevin, “Your family is quite peculiar. You invite guests to celebrate the old lady’s birthday, yet you ask them to sit at the door. It’s impolite.”

Anthony corrected her, “Not impolite, but uneducated.”

Lilly nodded. “Yes, uneducated. Mister, I believe it’s you who should be embarrassed, not me.”

Whispers circulated among the people nearby, and they agreed with Lilly’s statement.

The MacNeil family was overbearing and even stingy when it came to reminding the

guests about eating. Furthermore, they segregated the guests into different areas based on their status.

Everyone felt a bit angry. If it weren’t for Blake being the MacNeil family’s grandson, the guests wouldn’t have tolerated their behavior. So when Lilly voiced her opinion, they secretly felt a sense of satisfaction.

Kevin’s face darkened. He was about to say something when he noticed Melody standing behind Anthony and Lilly.

He immediately disregarded Anthony and Lilly and warmly greeted Melody, “Mrs. Shaw, welcome! Please come inside!”

Melody sneered. “The MacNeil family is so influential that they even ignore the Crawford family, the wealthiest family in Clodston. I dare not enter with you.”

She bent down to wipe Lilly’s mouth and said casually, “Wherever Lilly and Mr. Anthony sit, we will sit there.”

Melody was standing up for Lilly. Ivan also spoke coldly to Kevin, “Apologize to my friend!”

Ivan didn’t have many friends, but since Lilly had saved him, he considered her a friend. Naturally, he couldn’t stand by and watch someone bully his first friend.

Kevin’s expression froze. He hadn’t expected the Shaw family to hold the Crawford family in such high regard. He felt a bit embarrassed and blamed Anthony and Lilly for the awkward situation. They knew Melody was behind them, yet they remained silent, so he thought they were intentionally keeping quiet.

Kevin smiled and said to Melody, “It’s my fault. I apologize. Please come inside first! I will rearrange their seats.”

As he spoke, he deliberately stepped aside and pretended to accidentally bump into Lilly. Since Lilly was unprepared, she was knocked aside by Kevin.

“Ouch!” Lilly fell to the ground. Her wrist was hurt and had turned red.

Without saying a word, Anthony immediately kicked Kevin aside. Caught off guard, Kevin crashed into an antique shelf.

Bang! An antique vase fell and shattered into pieces.

Kevin’s face immediately turned pale. It was Jerome’s most cherished antique, and Jerome had repeatedly instructed Kevin to take care of it when guests were present.

Unexpectedly, Kevin had broken it. But he quickly shifted the blame onto Anthony.

Kevin glared at Anthony. “Mr. Anthony, why did you hit me for no reason?”

However, Anthony didn’t even look at Kevin. He immediately picked Lilly up and asked, “Are you alright?”

Lilly rubbed her wrists and then her bottom.

“Uncle Anthony, I’m fine,” Lilly replied.

The commotion inside attracted the attention of the others, and they hurried out.

When Jerome saw the broken antique on the ground, his heart ached. He suppressed his anger and asked, “What happened?”

Kevin quickly responded, “Sir, Mr. Anthony hit me because he was dissatisfied with…”

Anthony sneered. “Dissatisfied?”

Did I say anything just now? I kicked him without uttering a word.

Lilly furrowed her brows and looked at Kevin. “You’re lying. You secretly bumped into me first, so Uncle Anthony hit you!”

He hit me and falsely accused Uncle Anthony. I won’t let him bully us!

Lilly glared angrily at Kevin.

Kevin defended himself, “Don’t make up stories! How could I secretly bump into you? I would never bully children!”

Giuliana leaned on her walking cane. Before finding out the truth, she reprimanded Lilly with a stern expression, “Hmph! I didn’t expect you to slander others at such a young age. How were you raised by your parents?”

She glared at Lilly. So she’s that Lilly? What a rude and unruly child! I won’t allow her into the MacNeil family!

Jerome also scolded angrily, “It’s the parents’ fault for raising such an ill-mannered child! The children of wealthy families are often the most useless. Mr. Anthony, you should discipline your child!”

Anthony was infuriated. “You have no right to lecture me!”

The MacNeil family was an upstart without power or background. They were merely a group of people tarnishing Erick’s reputation.

Melody’s expression turned gloomy, and she sarcastically remarked, “The MacNeil family is truly grand! We are the guests, yet you all target a child. Is this how you treat your guests?”

Giuliana looked at Melody, and her complexion improved slightly.

“Mrs. Shaw, you should understand the situation before speaking. After all, Mr. Shaw and my grandson are both members of the military department,” Giuliana said, raising her head.

Melody sneered. Giuliana even dared to teach her a lesson. Perhaps Giuliana believed she was more powerful since Blake was the supreme leader and Colton was subordinate.

“Let’s go.” Melody held Ivan’s hand and prepared to leave.

Whispers spread among the onlookers.

“Alas, why did the MacNeil family behave like this?”

“They don’t take the Crawford family seriously and even want to overpower the Shaw family. I’ve never seen such arrogance.”

“I suspect they’re fools.”

“Shh… They have the right to be arrogant! It’s all because of that God of Battle…”

Giuliana was upset. She considered herself the grandmother of the God of Battle. Yet, Melody and Anthony had embarrassed her and even wanted to leave before she could drive them away.

Giuliana coldly looked at Lilly and decided to establish her authority through Lilly. She sternly said, “You slandered Kevin just now!

Apologize to Kevin!”

Melody stopped and retorted, “No apologies are necessary!”

Lilly imitated Melody and refuted Giuliana, “No apologies are necessary!”

Anthony held Lilly’s hand and left without saying a word.

Giuliana was so angry that she almost fainted. She yelled, “Stop! Do you think you can come and go freely? You caused trouble here, so you have to pay for it!”

Giuliana pointed at Lilly. “Kevin, bring her over here! She’s so uneducated! Today, I will teach her a lesson!”

Kevin sneered. He believed Anthony and Melody were overestimating themselves and dared to confront him. He signaled several people to stop Anthony and Melody.

Then, Kevin stepped forward and was about to grab Lilly.

Suddenly, the large iron gate of the MacNeil family slammed shut with a loud noise. A black SUV rudely drove in and stopped in front of everyone.

“Oh, it’s quite lively here!” A man dressed in black stepped out of the car.

Blake hadn’t had a chance to change his attire, so he was still dressed in a black uniform, complete with body armor. His face was concealed by a black mask.

Removing the mask and gloves, he sneered and asked, “Who is willing to teach my daughter a lesson?”

The sudden turn of events left everyone frightened. No one had anticipated a black SUV crashing into the birthday banquet, leaving them unable to react.

Blake’s gaze fell upon a figure in the crowd.

Lilly, dressed in a white dress with two small braids, caught his eye. With her big eyes and cute appearance, she looked adorable.

From a distance, Lilly glared angrily at the person blocking her way. She was on guard, resembling a little beast ready to pounce on someone.
