Despite Colton and Melody’s objections, Karen threatened them with her life and held them down by their feet to buy time for Master Sullivan.

Master Sullivan sighed. “Seeing that you’re in a bind… I’ll help you. Sable!”

His disciple in the back responded and immediately set up the ritual.

Karen was more than grateful. Finally, her grandson had a chance to survive.

Master Sullivan worked quickly, as if to intimidate everyone. A flame ignited with a wave of his arm, leaving many in awe.

He took out a brass bell and a ritual blade, then circled Ivan while uttering incantations.

“Evil, be gone. Demon, be gone. I call upon the great forces to cleanse the evil in the child!”

Bang! Bang!

Master Sullivan’s disciple beat the drum.

Pablo was speechless.

He remained composed, though. Pablo stopped rushing Lilly because the incense on the boy’s head was a timer, counting down to his death.

Lilly never took her eyes off Ivan.

The commotion had cost Ivan time, and now two-thirds of the incense had burned away.

Furious, Lilly yelled, “He’s a fraud!”

The tortoise mentioned an obstacle. So this was the obstacle.

Karen’s eyes widened in anger. “What does a child know? Shut up!”

Master Sullivan was a trained professional.

There was no way the girl could save her grandson if Master Sullivan couldn’t do anything.

Who did she think she was? How could someone her age compare to a wise practitioner?

Master Sullivan coldly said, “I would advise you not to speak blasphemy. The ritual is complete. The boy will regain consciousness in no more than five minutes.”

He placed his hands behind his back, trying to appear otherworldly.

Lilly commented, “Ivan won’t wake up. Whatever you did is pointless…”

Bettany wanted no part in it.

This was the Shaw family’s private affair. Lilly had done enough for them.

“Let’s go, Lilly. They can handle it themselves.”

The urgency of the situation brought tears to Lilly’s eyes.

A child’s world was full of innocence. It would take children a long time to grieve over the death of an animal, let alone a person.

Lilly looked at Melody and then at Colton.

Melody had nothing left to lose!

She picked Karen up from the ground and dragged her out.

Karen exclaimed, “How dare you! Is this how you treat your mother-in-law? As a daughter-in-law…”

Melody threw her out the door and angrily scolded, “As a daughter-in-law, I have had enough of you! I have control over my son! I will break your legs if you take another step closer!”

Karen was speechless.

She huffed and puffed as anger nearly consumed her.

The rage and hurt overwhelmed her.

That was her grandson in there too!

Karen only had her grandson’s best interests at heart. Was she wrong for doing what was best for him?

“Are you trying to get Ivan killed?” Karen cried.

Inside, Colton glared at Master Sullivan. “Either you leave, or I will make you.”

Master Sullivan made a disdainful face.

No one had ever shown him such disrespect since he reached the highest level of spiritualism. Oh, the audacity of the Shaws. Well, that would be the last time he would ever help the family.

“Hmph!” With his reputation at stake, Master Sullivan merely sneered without saying another word.

Karen desperately cried, “Are you trying to get Ivan killed? You’re killing my grandson…”

Colton indifferently said, “I trust Lilly can save Ivan.”

Master Sullivan was tempted to roll his eyes. The Shaws were foolish to have faith in a child.

Anthony looked at the time and remarked, “Your five minutes are up!”

Raising her eyebrow, Bettany snapped a biting comment, “Didn’t you say the boy would wake up in five minutes?”

Color drained from Master Sullivan’s face…

A cry was heard in the background,

Lilly had somehow picked up the ritual papers from the ground and set them on fire.

While it was not as impressive as Master Sullivan’s performance, she managed to ignite a green flame.

Once the fire was burning, Lilly threw Ivan’s shirt into the brazier and earnestly chanted, “Peas in the dark to bite… help myself see the kite…”

Master Sullivan furrowed his brow. See the kite?

Was it all just a game to the girl?

“Nonsense!” Keeping a serious expression, Master Sullivan scolded the girl.

His pet peeve was people like Lilly who played pretend and deceived others.

Sable, the resentful disciple behind Master Sullivan, couldn’t hold his tongue. “That’s right! The ritual is a joke to her! What the hell is that? I’ll eat sh*t upside down if she can revive Ivan. I’m talking about a massive turd!”

The shirt in the fire suddenly stood up on its own.

Master Sullivan froze while Sable’s statement came to an abrupt end…

As green sparks flashed in the brazier, Ivan’s shirt suddenly stood up straight, and his sleeves slowly lifted…

Dark clouds already obscured the sky as a gust of cold wind blew, causing Bettany to wrap her arms around herself.

The scene before them was incredibly chilling!

Only Lilly had a smile on her face as she waved at the shirt and said sweetly, “Return now!”

The shirt promptly fell back into the brazier and caught fire.

Ivan, lying on the ground, began to move his fingers ever so lightly.

Pablo let out a shocked cry and quickly took out his notebook, flipping through the pages.

I didn’t make a mistake! An incense on the head represents a countdown to their death. How did he
