(Alexander)

It took everything in me not to go after Scarlett and stop her from entering the room.

The fact that she spoke to me the way that she did told me that things were going to grow complicated, especially considering the fact that she knew that she was an Alpha blood.

I hated to admit it, but I knew that her finding out about it now was not going to do us any good. The woman was going to think that she was allowed to cross certain limits, and that was not going to be something that I was going to allow. But first, I needed to start with the prick who thought that he could speak to my wife.

I walked out of the nursery and down toward the dining room where I heard his heartbeat and caught his scent. His pack was already piling the dining room, and I knew that one wrong word could end up costing me more than I could afford.

“I take it that your wife chose not to go out?” He asked, silently letting me know that he heard our argument. I had to fight back the growl that almost escaped my c*hest and I shook my head. “She needs to rest as she is still going through a jetlag.” I said, and he shook his head before smirking, understanding that the two of us just got into an argument. The man knew for fact that I didn’t want to argue with my wife, and that fact alone came as annoying to me, especially after all the pressure that we were in.

“I see.” He said, looking down at the table. “The least she could do is get something to eat. The two of you haven’t eaten anything since you arrived, and the woman is most probably nourishing your daughter. Therefore, she would need to eat to be strong enough to do so.”

I had to ignore the clench that formed in my c*hest as I knew that he was right in this one. The two of us barely went to sleep when we arrived. Scarlett didn’t even bother drinking water and was more interested in the bed as she wanted to rest.

“I can get her something to eat when she is hungry, you needn’t worry, Alpha.” I said, keeping a threatening tone as I glared at the man, fighting the urge to punch him in the face. The man knew that I didn’t like it that he was talking about my wife, but he knew to drag this as much as possible, though I didn’t understand what he was benefitting from this, I knew that I didn’t like it.

“Suit yourself; however, our kitchen, dining room, and maids are always around under her service if she needs them to be. All she has to do is ask,” he said, making my c*hest burn with a jealousy that I never remembered feeling. The fact that it wasn’t something that she lived through when she was with me was something that I couldn’t let go of.

At the pack, it was her serving, and when she gave birth, I was making her regret the day she thought of approaching the pack’s grounds again. Therefore, I knew that things were too rocky for her to think of accepting or considering when it came to me being around her. The woman was going to need her space, and I knew that I was going to be f*orced to give it to her. Otherwise, the two of us were going to have to deal with things that we would never be able to handle.

“Thank you for your offer, Alpha,” I said, turning to the door. There was no point in me staying here, plus, I had a few things to tend to, and knowing that Scarlett wouldn’t want to look at me, I knew not to pressure her into speaking to me. “I will be out for a while.”

I walked toward the front door, raising an eyebrow when I saw two maids standing by it. Both women opened the door for me without bothering to ask a question, neither one of them even looked up at me. They simply waited until I was out of the house before closing the door.

I walked out of the house only to frown when the door opened behind me and the scent of Vladimir filled my nostrils.

The ground was covered with the winter snow, and I couldn’t help but feel like goosebumps rose over my b*ody as I knew that my wolf was malfed and would need me to eat for him to regain his power and strength. Otherwise, I knew that it would be a matter of time before he weakened enough not to be able to fight, and that wasn’t something that I wanted to reach.

“What do you want, Vladimir?” I asked, not bothering to turn to face the man. He walked toward me and shook his head in question, crossing his arms over his c*hest as he clearly debated about whatever he had to say.

“You came to MY house, seeking for MY help, and yet, you’re asking me what I want?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at me. “You have caused nothing but problems since morning, and I want to know why.”

“You stay the f*uck away from my wife, and the two of us won’t have any problems.” I said, and the man’s eyes widened in surprise.

He froze for a second before bursting out in laughter, as if I just made the funniest of all jokes, but I was serious, I was dead f*ucking serious.

I didn’t want him around my wife, and that was something that I was determined to prove. “You are acting this way because you are f*ucking jealous?” He asked, his tone mocking as I glared at him. “And I can assume that your wife has refused…”

“Do not interfere…”

“Get a f*ucking life, Alexander.” He said, stopping me. “As for what I am to interfere in, who I am to speak to, look out, or serve; as long as it is in MY home, you can rot in hell for all I care with whatever anger and jealousy that you are feeling.”

“You,”

“I am going inside, and I do suggest that when you come back from wherever it is that you were going, that you tone the f*ucking attitude down.” He said. “The two of us are yet to negotiate our deals, and yet, here you are, acting like a dimwit who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.”

He didn’t bother waiting for me to respond before he turned toward the door and entered the house. The door was opened by the maids upon his arrival, he didn’t need to knock on the door for them to open it to begin with.

“We will see who the dimwit is, Vladimir.” I said, glaring at the snow. “For now, I am going to find a proper way to deal with my wife elswhere…”
