Adeline never liked to dwell on the past, but now she knew she would sever ties with both Hailey and Tracy forever. Still, thinking of their betrayal twisted her heart in pain.

“Adeline…”

Victor hadn’t expected her to suddenly break down.

Her tears fell like pearls into his palm, each one cutting into him like a knife. The man who was always composed and steady found himself at a loss, fumbling.

“Don’t cry, you…”

Victor, buried in research most of his life, had little experience with women. Comforting one was completely foreign to him. Yet her tears unsettled him so much he struggled to piece together words that might soothe her.

…

“You…”

But she stopped crying as suddenly as she had started.

Her mind was a blur, but she vaguely remembered calling Lily for help earlier. In her fog, she thought Lily must have been the one who saved her.

And the man before her…

She reached out, confusion clouding her face, her hand pressing against Victor’s chest.

“Lily… where’s your 34D? Why can’t I find your 34D?” she murmured.

Victor didn’t catch whose name she said, but the rest hit him clearly.

Thirty-four… D?

What nonsense was this?

He was a man. How could he have a 34D?!

In his moment of stunned disbelief, she had already undone the top button of his shirt.

Victor’s mind roared like thunder.

He had only once shared intimacy with a woman-back then, it had been his choice. Never had he imagined a day when a woman would take the initiative, her fingers slipping his shirt buttons open.

And somehow, her drunken heat seemed to seep into him. When her pale hand brushed against his skin, he felt an uncanny resemblance to that night’s woman.

Insanity. That woman had been Marilyn. How could it possibly be Adeline, a girl he had only met a handful of times?

Things with Marilyn were still unresolved. He couldn’t allow himself to get tangled up another woman. with

By the time she reached the third button, he snapped out of it and stopped her. “Adeline, you’re drunk. I don’t have any 34D!”

But she was lost in a fog, oblivious to his words.

She and Lily had always been close, partners who knew each other’s rhythm perfectly. They had even changed costumes together once.

That time in the dressing room, she had been stunned by Lily’s flawless figure. Even as a woman herself, she had been dazzled. She had never asked for Lily’s exact size, but she knew just by looking.

Adeline adored Lily from the bottom of her heart. And now, in her muddled state, she felt grief as if Lily’s soft, perfect curves had suddenly been replaced with a flat plane. eyes

Her reddened as she whimpered, her searching hands growing frantic. “Lily, you weren’t like this before… Why can’t I find your 34 anymore? What do I do?”

This time, Victor clearly heard the name.

She had mistaken him for his sister-in-law. Mistaken him… for a woman.

A strange, unexplainable rejection rose in him. He didn’t want her to see him that way. voice dropped, sharp and cold. “I’m not Lily.”

His

“Adeline, take your hands off me.”

But she didn’t.

In fact, she clawed at his chest again, muttering, “What do I do? I still can’t find it…”

Her hand slid lower, down to his abs. “Lily, why are you so hard now? You used to be so soft, like dough. How did you turn into a wall?”

Victor’s face darkened as heat surged through him. He hadn’t expected her careless touches to torment him this much.

He seized her hand and pushed it aside, his tone stern. “I’ll say it again. I’m not Lily. We’re not close. Don’t lean on me. Stay away.”

“Tell me your address. I’ll take you home.”

Adeline looked up at him, eyes dazed and glassy. Her thoughts were tangled, unable to focus. It was as if she were lost in fog, unable to see or hear clearly.

But she could feel his coldness, his rejection.

Her heart clenched. Her own mother had sold her for money, her friend-whom she had once supported-had betrayed her. And now, even the Lily she cherished most was pushing her away.

Her eyes brimmed red, silent tears gathering. She looked at him with all the fragility of a lost child, burdened with fear, hurt, and confusion.

Victor stiffened. Had he been too harsh?

Her hand still lingered on him, restless, wandering to places that made him ache. He wanted to shove her away, to restore the cold, safe distance between them.

But faced with her teary, unfocused gaze, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

All he could do was force his voice into detached warning. “Adeline, you’ve mistaken me for someone else. You shouldn’t be touching me.”

It was pointless to ask her for her address in this state. She wouldn’t be able to give it. Better to take her to a hotel, have the staff brew her a sobering remedy. Once she was awake, she could decide whether to stay or return home. That way, he could fulfill Lily’s request without further entanglement.

“Lily, don’t be afraid,” Adeline whispered, her voice hoarse.

She convinced herself that Lily’s coldness was only because her curves were gone, that it had broken her spirit. Thinking of Lily’s beautiful body, now vanished, her chest ached.

Sniffling, she vowed softly, “Don’t worry. I’ll never abandon you. No matter what.”

Never abandon him….

Victor knew she wasn’t speaking to him, yet seeing the sincerity in her misty eyes made his heart pound violently.

Adeline’s presence had always carried an untouchable coolness. The first time he saw her, she had reminded him of an ice goddess carved from snow.

But now, with her tears softening that frosty aura, she looked heartbreakingly fragile and tender-so much so that he felt an unfamiliar urge to protect her.

Victor’s heart pounded wildly, his breath uneven, when her voice trembled against him. “I… I can go with you for surgery. Medicine is so advanced now-you’ll definitely go back from flat to a 34D!”

Surgery?

His shirt hung open. Instinctively, his gaze dropped to his chest.

Like his elder brother, his frame was lean, but his muscle lines were sharp, his pecs and abs defined. For a man, that was plenty. Why on earth would he need surgery to become a 34D?

When she hugged him tighter and pressed her cheek against his bare chest, his whole body locked up like stone.

His hand hovered midair, trembling. For a fleeting moment, he wanted to wrap her in his arms and hold her close.

But reason clawed at him-distance, restraint.

He forced his hand behind his back, his voice low and strained. “Adeline, I’m Victor. We barely know each other. You shouldn’t be touching me like this.”

Adeline had secretly liked Victor for many years.

That name, hidden deep in her heart, still reached her through the haze of alcohol. Even in her muddled state, she heard it clearly.

The fog in her vision seemed to part. She lifted her face and finally saw his features clearly.

It really was him-the senior she had admired from afar.

She and her senior had always been like parallel lines, destined never to meet. How could she possibly be nestled against him like this?
