They each kiss Sam, my mom, and my forehead, and then Lauren walks in with Knox.

Jesus Christ.

He strides in with an air of confidence, his charcoal grey tuxedo accented with a light blue silk handkerchief in his pocket. Holy mother of God.

He looks so handsome, his bright blue eyes meet mine and I can’t help but check him out, my heart racing.

Feeling his gaze roam over me in my robe, I swallow hard, averting my eyes back to my brothers. I lick my dry lips and turn around to grab a bottle of water from the minibar.

“Hey man!” Kyle greets him from behind me. I don’t want to turn around to look at him. He looks too good in his tuxedo. Damn him! “You look good!” Kyle compliments him.

“Thanks, man! You’re looking sharp yourself. Finally found a suit that fits?” His voice is laced with playful mockery.

“Well, you know, I’ve been hitting the gym a lot lately. Must be all the muscle I’m building,” Kyle retorts, his voice brimming with pride. I can almost see him puffing out his chest.

As I turn around, my theory is confirmed, but Knox’s gaze is fixed on me.

Look away!

I manage to shift my attention towards my mom and Delilah, who are engrossed in a conversation about something I can’t quite catch. The room’s atmosphere grows heavier after Kyle’s next words.

“Lauren, I’d say it’s good to see you, but I’d be lying-” I choke on my water, gasping for breath.

Lauren’s face contorts in confusion, clearly taken aback by my brother’s blunt remark,

“Don’t play dumb. If you ever call my sister a slut again, you’ll regret it. Clear?” Knox’s lip curls in a snarl.

“Not my fault she can’t keep her legs closed around strippers,” she retorts, resting a hand on her hip and inspecting her nails with feigned indifference.

“That’s the last time you say that about her! Do you hear me?” The words don’t come from Kyle. They come from him.

“Fine, whatever,” she rolls her eyes at his outburst, sauntering around the room with an air of nonchalance.

I sink back into my chair, watching as they finish their argument.

Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I open my eyes to see Andy standing beside me, showing me a picture she took earlier. She’s uploading it onto my Instagram.

The first person to like it is none other than him. I glance up to see him staring at his phone, then looking up at me in shock.

His jaw clenches and he reaches for a glass of whiskey, downing it in one gulp.

“Looks like he can’t deny how hot you look,” Andy teases, handing my phone back to me. I study the picture more closely.

I’m sitting in a chair beside the window, the natural light illuminating my skin. The robe is hanging off my right shoulder, revealing my grey-purple bra strap.

“I don’t care what he thinks,” I mumble to her.

Once I’m finished, I head into the room where all the dresses are hanging. It’s just the bridesmaids left, along with Sam, my mom, and Eric.

Eric is walking Sam down the aisle. I put on my dress and the rest of the bridesmaids leave to go to the church where everyone else is, along with my mom. Lena and I stay behind to ride with Sam and Eric.

Sam’s stunning mermaid gown is a custom-made Vera Wang. It has thick straps on either side and a low back, adorned with intricate beading and embroidery. The dress flares out at the bottom, creating a slight train. It accentuates her figure perfectly, highlighting her slim waist and toned hips. Her bust is prominent, but not overdone.

She looks absolutely beautiful.

We help her into the car first to ensure her dress remains pristine. We have a seamstress on standby, just in case. Lena and I climb into the vintage Rolls Royce six-seater car with Eric’s assistance.

As we drive away from the hotel and towards the church, we share smiles and reminisce about our childhood.

“I can’t wait to be married. I’m so excited!” Sam claps her hands together, her face glowing with anticipation. We can’t help but share in her joy.

I lean over to take her hand and whisper, “Sam, you look so beautiful. Tyson is going to fall even more in love with you when he sees you!” I give her hand a tight squeeze before letting go.

“You look like an angel, Aunt Sam!” Lena beams at her.

“You both look so beautiful too! I can’t wait to be doing this for your wedding, Alex!” I freeze and clear my throat. I wish everyone would stop saying that to me. It’s not going to happen.

“Yeah… That’s never going to happen, Sam,” I laugh, patting her hand.

“Never say never,” she winks at me. I roll my eyes and look at Lena, who is sitting there with a smile on her face.

“You all look so beautiful, girls. Ready to take on the world! My girls are all grown up!” Eric kisses each of our cheeks and we return the gesture. That man is one of the best things to have ever happened to me.

He has been there for us through everything and still took us in, treating us as his own. We will forever be grateful for his presence in our lives.

“Thank you, Eric. You have no idea how grateful we all are to have you in our lives. You mean the world to us. You took all five of us in when you didn’t have to. The love you show my mom every day is so inspiring, and it’s because of you that I can’t wait for marriage,” Sam chokes out, fanning her eyes to prevent her makeup from running.

We see Eric start to tear up as well, and we smile at him, each taking one of his hands in ours.

Once we reach the church, we see the bridesmaids gathered outside with Noah, Adam, and Eden. We step out first, and Eric once again helps my sister out.

We all walk into the church, and I hold onto Adam’s little hand, getting him and Noah ready as the ring bearers. Lena is prepping Eden as the flower girl.

The church doors open, and we all line up as instructed by Miranda.

“Places, everyone!” She whispers, and the music begins to play. She sends Eden down the aisle, who gets halfway before she starts waving at everyone.

Seeing Jane telling her to keep walking, making everyone laugh, cases the tension. Sam is now fussing with her dress.

Miranda sends the two ring bearers out, not before they both blow me a kiss goodbye, which I return. They look so adorable in their little suits. Next, it’s the bridesmaids’ turn.

“Alright, here we go, ladies!” Miranda announces. Sandra leads us off. Sandra is married to one of the Giants football players, Dan Orna. She and Sam have become close since she started dating Tyson.
