FUCK!
Now it looks bad!
“Woah! When was that?” Andy asked, shocked.
“When I was coming home from Savannah.” I replied, my attention still glued to the TV.
“Sources say that they have been together for a while, that she is his childhood sweetheart and she is the reason why he never committed to any girl he has gone on dates with. She is the younger sister of his best friend, Kyle Thompson, and I think it’s pretty clear that he looks loved up with her. Super hot couple! She better prepare for the wrath of his female fans and ex-flings.”
The blonde-haired anchor informed the viewers, oblivious to the fact that I was one of them. Ahhhhh! He owes me big time! My phone buzzed in my pocket, but I didn’t take my eyes off the screen as I answered it.
“Hello?”
“So you moved on to Knox? I fucking knew there was something going on between you two when we were going out! Alex, you made me feel bad for cheating on you when you guys were going behind my back the whole time I was with you!”
I regretted picking up the phone without checking the caller ID. Who did he think he was? This little bitch couldn’t talk to me like that!
“Drew, there is nothing and there never was anything going on between me and Knox! Fucking hell, this is all gossip! You know I didn’t like him like that, ever! You should feel fucking bad for cheating on me because you did, I never cheated on you EVER so don’t you dare play that card! I gave you my heart, you son of a bitch! You’re the one who ripped it to shreds! To be honest, I don’t owe you any kind of explanation! People are going from photos that are being taken out of context!” I was getting worked up, my words tumbling out faster and faster.
“You two look pretty cozy to me, Al-“
“Fuck off, Drew, don’t call me again! Go back to your whores and leave me alone!” I hung up, not wanting to hear another word from his awful mouth.
I was about to put my phone down when it rang again. This time, it was my mom. Shit!
“Hi, Mom!”
“Alex, sweetheart! I have Delilah and Knox on the phone too! We’re so delighted you finally made it official between you two!”
Hah! Good one, Mom!
“Woah, woah, woah! Hold your horses there, Mother Dearest. The whole thing has been blown out of context. I can assure you Knox and I are NOT together! Knox, help me out here?!”
“Aww, honey, you don’t need to hide it from us! We both knew you two would become a thing.” Delilah chimed in.
“Mom! She’s telling the truth, we’re not a ‘thing’ as you like to call it. The photos are being blown out of proportion.”
Knox jumps in to defend me, thank God! Wait a minute, they thought we were an item?
“Hold on! So you two aren’t dating? But, in the photos, you look like you’re in lo-“
“Don’t say it, Mom! No, we’re not dating, the photos look bad, I know, but we’re not. Look, I need to go help Andy with dinner. I’ll call you tomorrow. I need to process all of this before talking to anyone about it. Just give me the night and then I’ll talk to you about it.”
“Then why did you kiss her so many times, Knox?” Delilah asked in the open call.
“Mom, I don’t know, I just did, alright! Let’s move on!” he cried out in frustration at her demand for an explanation.
“If you guys are dating it’s okay to tell us, you know? But if you need anything, sweetie, just call. I love you! Tell Andy I say hi, and I saw her and Kyle in the photos too. They look loved up too!”
“Mom, drop it! Love you too, bye Delilah! Knox!”
“Bye Alex!”
“Love you, baby doll!” Ugh!
“Knox! Stop stirring the pot! Bye!” I could hear him chuckling in the background as I ended yet another annoying call!
Why is he so inconsistent, one minute he’s scolding his own mother about asking him why he kissed me, and the next minute he’s stirring shit up?
Why did he kiss me?
It worries me that my own mother thought we were together. I guess it looks really bad then. Releasing a heavy sigh, I remind myself that I know the truth and so does Knox and our families, that’s all that matters!
I don’t care about everyone else.
My phone is buzzing nonstop, but with messages from people, even my own family. I’ll deal with this tomorrow, I can’t be bothered right now.
I sighed and sat down on the sofa opposite the TV. I put my head on my open palms that were resting on my knees.
This escalated quickly.
What is happening? Images of me are all over the screen. Is that what I actually look like? The image of us at the football game, me realizing I was on the big screen and smiling down at him.
He had a red tint on his cheeks smiling up at me. Another one of him sitting on the fence talking to me after the game and we were smiling at each other.
God, this is not looking very good for me right now. I don’t want to be known for this, I didn’t ask for any of this!
The picture of him kissing my cheek came up on the screen with ‘KNOX’S NEW GIRL?’ written in bold writing across the screen.
Comments from fans on Twitter were coming up on the screen, some of them were nice, others, not so much. The photo of us staring into each other’s eyes is the one that is left on the screen for a while.
I listen back to the show, “Look at the way he looks at her, there’s definitely something there between them. He’s not the type to just go for anyone, so she must mean a lot to him.
I believe he really loves her and that she’s not just a new fling. They’ve known each other since they were young kids, it only makes sense. It’s like he’s been waiting for her.”
Well, you believe wrong there… Stacey. If that is your real name!
They’re reading so much into this.
I know it looks bad, but it’s not like that!
At all!
