Chapter 174 – The Omega Destiny

Raven’s lip trembles, and a tear rolls down her face, followed by another. I bet money she has been holding onto a small amount of hope that her parents didn’t know what happened to her. I wrap my arms around her and pull her into me hard.

A loud sob cuts the silence as Raven breaks down. Considering everything she has endured, it is surprising her breakdown has taken this long. Also, it’s surprising she hasn’t returned to her old pack and burnt the whole thing to the ground. Now, I know she was working up the courage to get the answers she wanted.

Unfortunately, she got them.

I stand and pick Fireball up from the chair and sit her down on the bed. I climb in and pull her against me and allow her to use me as her personal Kleenex until she cries herself to sleep.

“I know where you’re going,” Thane calls out from behind me as I start to open the front door.

“Do you know why I am going?” I respond, opening the door to make it apparent that he will not stop me.

“I do.”

“Then you understand.”

“Cut the feed to the armory.” I nod before heading out the door.

Never Go to Bed Angry, Stay Awake and pilot Your Revenge

“And do not get caught, but if you do, make sure you can kill Stevens as well. I’ll cover for you if in wakes up.

I take Thane’s SUV to the armory to load up on toys just in case, and then drive as fast as I can toward Pack Stevens. Thanks to our previous recon together of her old pack, I know that their border patrol is thin along the river because it is a natural border. A dangerous border when the water is raging and the current is unbearable.

Lucky for me, it is winter.

I douse myself from head to toe with scent blocker, and my pack too, before quietly taking the river up the border, and from there, I use my nose to find Fireball’s scent. She lived at home a lot longer than she lived in the pack house, so I just need to follow a trace scent of hers.

I will follow any scent of hers that I need to and kill any shifter at the end of the scent just for breathing it in.

It’s mine.

I may be huge, but I’m quiet as I pull down my mask and proceed to pick the lock on Raven’s childhood home. Without her scent, I would still find it. Her father has a damn sign on the house announcing to the world that it is the residence of the beta.

What a tool.

I spent the hours driving, contemplating taking one or both, and what to do about them. Daylight is fast approaching, so I decide to take her father and let her mother feel the pain of her mate missing for a while.

There are multiple ways to torture somebody.

I notice there are no pictures of Raven anywhere as I quietly climb the stairs. Actually, I don’t think we have taken any together.

I smell a photoshoot.

No, I’m putting a photobooth in our warehouse.

I pull the syringe from my pack and wait silently in the hall before going to the door I hear two heartbeats in.

Cyrus

A little pinch to Mrs. Shitbags neck will keep her asleep for awhile. Mr. Shitbag however will not be getting off that easy. I bend down close to his sleeping form and whisper, “Boo. Roger’s eyes fly open, and I sock him in the face, knocking him out cold. I take the time to remove the antipsychotic from my pack before injecting the medication into his neck.

I have a long ass way to haul him back and drive him back, but he is built long and lean which will make carrying his dead weight easier. Not that it would really matter.

I’m a big, beautiful bastard.

I throw my pack on my back and grab hold of his arm and sling him over my shoulder. I stood at their front door for a while, listening. I did not go through all this trouble to get caught. I also cannot hold off an entire pack on my own.

I can see the sun on the horizon and know that I am running out of time. So running is what I will do.

I ran this stupid asshole all the way to the river, stopping periodically to throw him down and descent the both of us. I’m tired, covered in mud and cranky as shit as I lug him down the frozen river bank and decide to drag him across the ice for awhile as I listen to the forest come alive.

One and a half hours and a mind-link check in with Thane later, I dump his ass in the backseat of the SUV and drive like hell home. I did stop to punch him in the face again and get my Luna a pickle..

Thane probably didn’t teach her the five-second rule.

The drive is long, but the red glow of the sunrise reminds me of who I am doing this for.

Fireball.

I pull into the packhouse parking lot and drag shitbag out of the backseat, hauling him over before going down to the dungeon. I shake my head ‘no’ at the few wolves that. want to find out who I am hauling over my shoulder or why they can’t get in on the action.

The dungeon is cold and smells of piss and blood. I’m immune to its effects at this point, but if I were to wake up here and see the bloody walls and take in all the smells, I would be very concerned for my well-being and probably shit myself at the same time.

I’m hopeful it has the same effect on Raven’s father.

I throw him down on the chair and shackle his arms and legs to the chain. In the floor. The choffts are short enough to restrict his movement. I throw myself down in my metal chair to play the waiting game. Too much antipsychotic, he dies. Not enough, he will be able to mind-link.

The studies on preventing mind-links are reliable, and I can always tell when they realize they cannot.

It is one of my favorite things to see.

The absolute look of terror.

I use this time waiting to go back and forth with myself on whether to tell Raven about my overnight scavenger hunt.

Does my girl want her own revenge?

Can she face her father and feel the years of pain caused by his mistreatment of her without breaking down?

Will she approve sparing her mother so she may live in fear and paranoia for some time before meeting her similar demise?

Regardless of what conclusions I come up with, I am still avenging my mate, and she will get over it.

I will let her sit on my face. That usually fixes everything.

Fireball’s scent has not changed at all since her heat, which means she is not carrying my pup. You probably have to want them to some degree before being blessed with one, I would assume. Raven not carrying my pup means she will go into heat again and again until she does become pregnant.

I have no idea how often that is. I believe there was probably something about it in whatever class we had to take about our hormones as teenage pups, but I was too busy using my hormones to pay attention.

“Where are you?” Raven mind-links, sounding groggy

“Taking care of some business, Fireball.”

“That is what Thane said.” She growls.

“Well, he is the Alpha; he would know.” I listen to her father’s slow and steady heartbeat. Nope, not waking up yet.

“You’re hiding something. I can feel it in the bond.” Fireball presses.

“Naughty she-wolves shouldn’t ruin their surprises.”

“You do feel extra happy through the bond, which is concerning.”

“Because I’m talking to you. Where did Sir Snoutington sleep last night?”
