“What if it’s an Ayla Jr.?” he asks, and I tilt my head up and think. Would our pup grow and shift into a white wolf? A black wolf? Look like me? Look like him? There are all sorts of things I haven’t thought about yet.
“I hope she has your dimples.” I hope all my pups do.
I stand up on my tip toes, but I’m still nowhere close to his lips. “Bend down giant.” I smile as he laughs against my lips.
“I’m getting distracted….I need to decide on a room color!” I pull away from him, remembering the real reason I came into this room in the first place.
“White.”
“I don’t know.”
I’m Going to Knit So Hard.
“Blue.”
“I don’t think I like it.”
“Brown.”
“No.”
“Yellow.”
“Ew, no.”
“Polka dots.”
“Probably not.”
“Stripes.”
“Maybe. I don’t know, probably not.”
“Black.”
“It’s not a dungeon.” I scoff.
“Orange.”
“Too blinding.”
“What does that even mean?” He questions, his eyes say he is growing tired of my indecisiveness. I am too.
“You know…too in my face.”
“Sure….so purple.”
“No…maybe.”
“Red.”
“Why would you even suggest that?” I question him.
“Ugh, I’m not going to answer that. So, green.”
“Potentially a shade of it…so maybe.”
“Okay, do we need any other maybe’s?” Thane asks and I’m sure I already know the answer he is hoping to hear.
“Yes, I plan on keeping him in the nest for a while, but he will eventually need to get out.”
“So, you are saying we have a ton of time.”
“Potentially. What are we going to do about heats and having a pup?”
“We can have Uncle Cyrus and Aunt Raven watch him.” He suggests, surprising me.
“Do you trust them with our pup?”
“I trust it will stay alive and fed.” I nod in agreement. I’m not sure how soon I will go into heat after having our pup, but we will need a plan. I think Cyrus and Raven would be the fun aunt and uncle, but I think our pup will pick up bad habits from the two of them regardless if it stays with them or not.
“Whatever you want to do to the room, I will do. Any color, any furniture but I don’t think we are going to figure it out today. Maybe a trip into the town to get some ideas. There are some furnishing stores, linen stores we can find something.”
Fm Going to Knit So Hard
“That is a good idea.” I could meet up with some of the people I met about the new heat whatever I’m going to call it.
“I think…” I stopped suddenly, turning to look at Thane. A groaning noise sounds from somewhere. The sound is deep and ominous.
“What the…” Thane walks over to the window, and I follow closely behind. For a second, everything appears normal until a loud crack rips through the air.
Suddenly the ground shakes violently. Extremely large boulders break from the mountain range in the distance. We watch on in confusion and horror as an avalanche of snow and rock follows the boulders plummeting to the ground. Each one that hits causing more shaking of the ground and plumes of snow to bellow into the air.
“What was that?” I ask as the shaking stops and the snow seems to mist around the range, hanging in the air.
“Cyrus just blew up a damn mountain, that’s what happened.” Thane sighs and shakes his head, growling in frustration.
“You mean that’s where horny hostel is! I can’t build with a mountain on top of it.” I pout. Truly, I’m on the verge of hormonal tears at this moment. I didn’t want this type of distraction.
“That’s where it is. I’m going to kill him.”
“Kill them. It’s two of them now.” I remind him that our friends are newly mated. I’m still excited about it.
“Oh yes, how could I forget. There are two of them now. Two unhinged shifters instead of one. What did we do to deserve this?” Thane pulls me to him sighing.
“How much trouble are they going to be in?” I ask, not sure how I feel about Raven being in trouble. She’s my friend and Cyrus is a lot.
“I don’t know how to punish him. I’m going to start by yelling and see where the day takes me.”
