his mother muttered as she looked at that photo of the twins.
“And you put her in the hospital, son!”
his father frowned deeply at him.
“I’m aware of all I did. I’m also currently trying to make a bridge to amend my behaviour. Marilyn is still… I’d say annoyed with me. Although she had been angry with me until about a week or so ago. She yelled at me in our last meeting, and she also had a full security detail around her as well in that meeting.”
He sighed a little
“there is no trust and… she has a right to feel that way,”
he stated, because she did have.
“The divorce son? You never told anyone about that. Why not?”
his mother asked him directly.
“You’re not going to like hearing this mother,”
he stated honestly.
“Marrin and I had a contract marriage only and well…”
“Wh…what?”
his mother gasped and was up out of her chair and on her feet.
“No… I saw the two of you.”
She shook her head.
“Yes, often, I fell in love with her, and I wanted a real marriage,”
he raised a hand to he Please calm down, the divorce was only done to get rid of the contract marriage, so we could, in fact, get married properly, only.”
He sighed now.
“I managed to screw that up, the way I wanted to do it. A grand gesture that showed her I loved her. I had a full month long vacation planned for her and I in Italy, only I never told her I was going to divorce her to really marry her. So, unfortunately, everything backfired and she left and changed her name. Thinking everything was actually over and we were done. She never got on the plane to Italy.”
“Well, thank the good lord for that, Calvin.”
His mother muttered,
“Or you’d have killed her.”
“I’m well aware of that fact and I thought at the time I had,”
he muttered.
“It was very hard to live with, I still… he shook his head, didn’t like thinking about that time in his life. He’d never actually forgotten how it felt to lose her.
“Does she know yet?”
his sister asked.

“She understands who she used to be, but doesn’t recall as far as I’m aware. That’s the hardest thing for me. She recalls nothing of our life together, but I recall it all. She only knows me as I have interacted with her as Marilyn Riddley.”
“That is not going to help you at all,”
his father sighed.
“The boys, they look just like you.”
“I know.”
He nodded and couldn’t help but smile.
“How, if it was only a contract marriage, did they come about?”
his sister asked curiously.
“We shared a marital bed several times a week. We were adults with needs. I found her more than attractive and so s*x was agreed upon as part of the contract.”
His mother was staring at him now, looked to be fully horrified by his words, then she was just up and stalking towards him.
“Stop, mother. It was initiated by Marrin, our first time in a bed. I didn’t seduce her into it.”
“You took vows and consummated them, that son is a real marriage.”
She snapped at him.
“Not a contract marriage.”
“Technically, we just signed a contract and had a judge sign off on a marriage certificate. There were no vows. It was all done with a full view to getting a divorce. Everything was laid out for Marrin. She understood before signing the papers, and she had three weeks to back out of the contract as well.
“What you saw between her and I, was real. We did get along, the laughing and joking around, even the business talk. We were well suited to each other. That is how I fell in love with her. She also never spent any of my money. Even though she had full access to it. Didn’t want me for my money, didn’t even care about having it at all. She liked me for me as I did her.”
Calvin
It was a lot for everyone to take in, not only was Marilyn, Marrin. She’d willingly changed her name, and they had twin sons together.
“Have you met the boys?”
