He technically wasn’t here, or bothering her. He was just setting out to upgrade the boy’s school. She wondered what made him think about doing that. Or was he trying to interact with the boys in a roundabout way? That showed them he wasn’t a bad person, that he was not only wealthy, but charitable as well, she supposed.
She saw them both really look at Calvin Reeves and then two sets of hazel??reen eyes were looking right at her.
“That is the man from Houston,”
she told them simply.
“The one the nurses were talking about, said you looked like his missing wife,”
Callum said, and then turned back to the picture on the screen to really look at him.
“He’s got black hair and green eyes,”
Callum murmured,
“just like we do.”
Again he looked up at her and so did
Vincent.
“I know what he looks like.”
she nodded slowly. There was no more being able to deny it.
“Are you curious about him? Think he could be your father?”
she asked them calmly.
She watched them both turn and look at the picture and then each other.
“He’s from Texas, where your old house was.”
“Yes.”
She nodded.
“His wife’s name is Marrin.”
She told them,
“She went missing right around the time I lost my memories too.”
Marilyn watched as they both stared up at her a little wide??yed. She had their full and undivided attention now.
“I don’t know what to feel about everything boys. Where that man is concerned.. but his lawyer had me run a DNA test on you two against that man”
she sighed and reached out to touch their faces; she could see they wanted to know.
“Calvin Reeves, I just found out a few days ago, is your father. I apparently am or was Marrin Reeves. We’re divorced and have been for 8 years. Apparently, right before the accident happened, his lawyer showed me the divorce papers.
She watched them go from being attentive, back to looking at his picture, a man who was their father but had divorced her.
“Did he know about us? Did you know about us before the divorce?”
Vincent asked her after some time. His voice was small, and she knew he was thinking, that if his father didn’t want them, he didn’t Want to know about it. honestly don’t recall that. I hope not,”
she murmured, and she didn’t want that to be the case. Though Wil had not mentioned anything about it,
“I don’t think he would have given you up if he knew. The man..”
she shook her head now, how did she explain all she’d heard to them, but also conflicted with her own thoughts on him.
“Has been searching for Marrin for a long time. He thought I was her… and I guess he was right. That’s why he came at me, he was trying to make me admit that I was his ex??ife Marrin. Only I couldn’t do that.”
she shook her head.
“Give him what he wanted, because I don’t recall that at all.”
she sighed softly.
“So..”
Callum frowned up at her.
“You are his ex??ife?”
“Yes, apparently so,”
she told them truthfully. There was nothing more she could do. They were going to have to know who he was and what he’d done to her as well.
“You got hurt.”
Vincent stared up at her.
“So did Lisa.”
“I’m aware, there is also a restraining order against him where I am concerned. He can’t come near me at all,”
she closed out of the internet and picked up the booklet from the school.
“I can only guess he’s found out the truth and not only that, but knows about the two of you and that is why your school is suddenly, out of the blue getting this donation from him.
“It’s likely his way of trying to interact with you two, from a distance, seeing as he can’t come here in person until the middle of December. I don’t know what to do with the knowledge boys to be honest. He’s your father. I understand that, but I have not had a single nice interaction with him since meeting him.”
