“Liam.”

He greeted him back.

“It’s official now, I see. No more arguing or denying it. What did Marilyn have to say about it?”

he asked. He needed to know her thoughts before deciding on a course of action. There were still four months on that restraining order.

“Nothing. I just received the results is all. She didn’t call or attach a message. She might need a minute to come to terms with this Wil. Considering their last encounter and all.”

Liam sighed.

Wil didn’t think he was wrong either.

“Do you know if she has watched the videos I complied for her?”

Wil asked.

“I have no idea; she’s not contacted me once since our last meeting to ask anything or state that she watched them. It is, of course, possible, she did do the DNA test right away, so I’d hazard a guess at it being a yes, but don’t quote me on that,”

Liam stated simply.

Wil thought about it, and he also agreed with Liam’s thoughts on the matter.

“Liam, I think it’s time to set up a new meeting and discuss if she has watched them. How she felt about what she saw, and how this is actually going to go from now on. Maybe it’s also time to bring the boys in and let them know who their father is.”

“She may not be ready for all of that. Those results only came in yesterday afternoon. You can see the date on it. I’d be willing to bet leaving the twins out of it for now is her priority, because they do know who assaulted her, From my understanding, they heard who it was from the talk within the hospital itself. So…”

Liam trailed off.

“1 understand,”

Wil murmured, and he did. He didn’t like that the boys knew who it was, but that was out of his hands and couldn’t be undone.

“I want to see her, a meeting with her about this, even if without the boys,”

Wil stated.

“I won’t push that for now.”

“Good, I don’t think it would be wise, could see her just up and leave. She has the means to, you yourself know this. So gently is the way, how Wil if she’s still trying to deal with all this and refuses,”

Liam asked.

Wil sighed heavily this time, he couldn’t keep it in because it was entirely possible that was going to be her stance. He didn’t want to play the bad guy but was going to have to, and he knew it.

“I will have to follow through, if she doesn’t want to do this my way. Calvin.”

he left it unsaid.

Twill call her, let’s just figure out a time that suits your schedule and mine. Marilyn works from home, so fitting us in is easy for her. But she might well think you’ll bring Calvin to that meeting, seeing as the boys are his, I don’t see her turning up without me because she was expecting him to be there the last time, so this news… Liam stated

“She’ll be expecting you to tell him and him insisting on being there… You’ll also be coming to her again, she can’t fly gets claustrophobic I believe.”

“Mm that she does, stems from childhood trauma from my understanding. If she doesn’t recall, Calvin could actually explain that to her. She told him once, It’s not nice to hear though.”

Wil nodded as he opened his schedule.

“I’ve got my planner open, let’s figure out a time.”

They spent many minutes trying to fit each other into their own schedules, discussing it as they tried. Marilyn had already informed Liam there would be no meetings on weekends. It was her only request and was to do with her being a single mum, and it was easier to do this on a weekday when the boys were in school.

It was going to have to wait three and a half weeks before they could marry up their schedules for both of them to fit in a trip to Virginia. When it was all organised, Wil stated

“I’d like Marilyn to consider bringing a proper clear photo of the twins for me, so I can put it in my file for when we’re all ready to…”

he stopped talking as his office door opened, and he watched Calvin walk into his office like he always did.

“Wil I have a…”

Cal stated as he looked at Wil on the phone.

“Oh, sorry, I’ll wait.”

He stated realising he was interrupting.

“Is that Calvin, Wil?”

Liam asked, obviously having heard him or realised why he’d just stopped talking mid??entence.

“Yes, and to answer you, when we’re all ready.”

He stated as he closed out the email and his schedule Tll see you in three weeks.”

Wil told Liam.

“I’m trusting you to keep a tight lid on this Wil. If not, I’ll take it as a breach of our verbal agreement from the previous meeting,”

Liam stated and clicked the line closed.

Wil put the phone down and sighed as he looked at Calvin,

“Sometimes I wish you’d have my secretary announce you.”

he half muttered to his friend, who he knew was used to just strolling into his office anytime he liked. Hell, any office in this building seeing as it was his building and his company.
