“How goes your recovery, cast free I see.”
he nodded and motioned for her to follow him.
“Yes, they came off last week. I can finally type properly and no more pirate jokes from the boys with my use of one crutch.”
She chuckled softly.
They are rambunctious. I can hear that when I call you at times, he nodded.
They stepped into the elevator, and she asked
“Is he here?”
because a part of her didn’t believe that Calvin’s lawyer wouldn’t tell him everything he’d found out.
“William? Yes,”
Liam nodded.
“Calvin was not with him. That kind of surprised me a little too. He’s already set up in my room and wants to get the ball rolling. He flew in last night like I did.”
“I don’t understand why he needs to do this. Get the ball rolling, from what I read we’re divorced, right?”
she did want clarification of that.
“Yes, legally you are.”
Liam nodded as they rode the elevator to the third floor, then walked down the hall to his room and he ushered her inside. All the blinds in here were open, and going from the somewhat darker hallway to a bright sun??it room made her dizzy, and she snapped a hand out to the wall to steady herself and stopped walking. It was one of her triggers, something the neurosurgeon tested her on as well.
“Marilyn?”
Liam asked her curiously.
1 still get dizzy going from dark to light or inside to outside at times. Kind of triggers a vertigo??ike sensation.
“She told him,
“”It’ll pass, I just need to stand still for a minute to adjust to the change of lighting, letting it pass is all,”
He stood there with her and when she finally leaned off the wall, Liam placed a hand to the small of her back and guided her further into the room, and to a table where William was already sitting and waiting for them.
Williams’ eyes were on her, and he was frowning deeply, had seen her moment of dizziness she supposed.
“Side effects of her injuries from falling down the stairs,”
Liam informed William.
“She’s also still not allowed to drive her car, and has many restrictions on her, thanks to your client.”
“Td like a list of them,”
William stated,
“and the approximate recovery time, perhaps Marilyn, if you’re willing. I could talk to your neurosurgeon here and get a full run down of them,”
William asked.
“Why?”
she asked right back.
“Because it will all be covered by Calvin. He was genuine in his offer to pay for everything to do with your recovery, despite the way he went about it and regardless that you left town unexpectedly, or without Informing myself even.”
William shook his head a little.
“That was in the best interest of my client,”
Liam stated.
“The man is obsessed and out of control, and telling him I was removing her might have seen more violent behaviour come from him, towards my client.”
“He is, or was obsessive,”
William nodded,
“but now, it appears his thoughts on the matter are indeed correct, doesn’t it? Calvin saw Marrin in Marilyn’s mannerisms, the sound of her voice and even the perfume she wears is the same. Wil countered,
“My client was not actually wrong in the end.”
“That doesn’t mean he has the right to stalk, harass or harm my client. He was rude to her and appeared menacing from the very first moment she laid eyes on him.”
Liam stated simply, truthfully
“Mm, in the bookstore,”
William acknowledged.
“He had you sign that book, Marilyn, so he could look at your handwriting, something he also recognised, and for him was the clinching factor of who you were.”
“I don’t care to rehash everything he did to me,”
Marilyn told him, and she didn’t.
“I dropped all the charges, with an agreement that he’d leave me alone if I did so. He signed that agreement, I believe, so he has to abide by it and leave me alone.”,
