“You’re an asshole.”

She grated out.

“Yes, I am, always was. That’s why no one saw Marrin and I behind closed doors,”

he told her.

“I hope you like prison.”

He shot over his shoulder and left the room as two police officers stepped over, He nodded to them and walked away. She was in for a world of pain, and only he could release her from it, and it wasn’t likely to happen.

Marilyn

She sat a little nervously at the table laid out with all her books in front of her. Finally, she’d completed the Born Light and Dark saga, a tale of how the Moon Goddess had tragically lost her soulmate and the only way to have his soul reborn was through the trial and tribulation of three women, the first to be born between a light realm fairy and a dark realm fairy, but then stolen by a witch to try and bring the Sun Gods soul back into being each woman then being the descent of that first fairy, a penance to be paid for the fairy’s killing the Sun God’s beast in the very beginning.

??????

Marilyn had finally been convinced by her editor and publishing house to do a book signing; not something she’d ever done before. But the entire saga was now considered a bestseller and was being sold in box sets, as well as individual copies.

She had a loyal fan following, and she’d been pressed for book signings to help promote the series. It wasn’t really her thing. She had two rambunctious seven??ear??lds to wrangle on a daily basis. And she couldn’t just leave them with anyone. The one thing she’d learned about herself since waking up in the hospital, was that she was alone in this world, no one popped by for a visit, no one called her, she had no friends or family, from what she could tell. It was just her and her two boys, Callum and Vincent.

So, if she was on a book tour, then the boys had to go with her as well, and that much travel with two seven??ear??lds she didn’t know if it was a good idea. She also had panic attacks at times. Being in confined spaces freaked her out completely. She’d learned that the hard way. They had wanted her to travel by plane across the country. But she didn’t see herself being able to do that.

But they’d pushed hard, and she’d relented with a few conditions on her end, travel had to be by car, she couldn’t go by plane. And she was only doing six signings, not the twelve they wanted, because she had to take the twins with her, and she also wasn’t doing them back??o??ack. So, there would be no driving endlessly from one place to another. The twins wouldn’t handle being in the car all day, every day.

Her terms had been accepted and six states within a two or three??ay driving rang m her home in Virginia had been sorted out just one signing in each place, one a week for six weeks over the course of half the summer. Now it was here the first one and she could see many people out there lined up. She could also see several reporters as well, but she wasn’t there to do an interview. All of those were done online via Lisa.

She had never really wanted the limelight, and she knew it, even from all the emails that she had that had gone back and forth between her and her agent, the publishing house, before she’d lost her memories. She was happy to answer a list of questions if sent to her but didn’t want to sit before a camera and just talk about herself or her writing process. She’d honestly just rather be in her writing studio writing, then out doing interviews.

The boys were currently at the hotel she was staying in, with a nanny provided by the hotel itself, and she’d picked all the hotels on this book tour, to make sure they all had a child??inding service with impeccable staff. Her boys were all she had as family, and she loved them, probably spoiled them a bit too much and that’s why they were a handful, but they were easily pulled into line, or for her anyway.

She sat and smiled as the doors were opened to the bookstore and the people were lined up to meet her. She smiled at each one and signed the book they had in their hand or the one they were buying before leaving the store.

It was nice to hear that many loved her writing and couldn’t wait for her next book to come out. She’d chuckled and said it would be a little while. She’d spent two hours sitting there signing books and was glad to see the line dwindle down and finally disperse.

Stood up and stretched herself out, was about to turn and walk away when woman stepped to the desk and stared at her. Marilyn smiled at her.

“Hi.”

“Hi?”

it kind of sounded more like a question to her.

“Do you know who I am?”

she asked tentatively.

“Hmm, I don’t think so. Have we met before?”

she asked in return.

“Well, yes and no. I don’t know…”

she kind of looked confused.

“Marrin?”

“Marylin Riddley,”

she stated. She could see a book in her hand.

“Would you like me to sign that?”

Marilyn asked.

The lady looked at the book,

“You already did, years ago. For a friend of mine. Would you again.”

Marilyn raised an eyebrow but was now curious, she’d signed a book years ago? she didn’t recall that at all Sure.”

She nodded.

“Who was your friend?”

“Marrin Reeves.”

She stated, as she handed the book over.

Marylin frowned. She was certain this woman had just asked her if she was Marrin. She shook it off and opened the book, read the written words and recognised her own handwriting. She smiled,

“I did sign this.”

She nodded.

“Though I don’t recall when or who for.”

She shook her head.

“Sorry.”

She picked up her pen and then looked at her.

“Are you married yet?”
