His breath caught. The second his palm touched her, he felt it—the tiny, active movement of their baby.

Isabella’s gaze was warm, steady. “Honey, whether it’s a boy or a girl, this is our baby. We should both welcome them with open hearts. As for what you just said… you’re right.” She paused, her tone turning soft with regret. “Lately, I have been so…”

Focused on the baby, I haven’t paid enough attention to you. I’m sorry, love.” Her sincerity struck Andrew like a wave.

“But don’t overthink it. Yes, our baby is important to me, but you are even more important. If something bothers you, tell me instead of keeping it bottled up. I’d rather know and fix it than have you silently hurting.”

Andrew stared at her, momentarily stunned.

He watched her lips move, taking in each word, but more than that, he felt them.

Isabella took his hand in both of hers. “You’re the person I chose to spend my life with. No one will ever matter to me the way you do. We’re husband and wife first—before anything else, even before being parents. You are my home. Do you understand? So don’t ever think I’ll forget about you just because we have a baby. That won’t happen, I promise.”

Then, without hesitation, she leaned in and kissed him.

The moment their lips met, something inside Andrew eased. The tension that had been weighing him down dissolved, replaced by warmth, by certainty.

When they finally pulled apart, his eyes were clear, his heart light. He wanted to make up for his earlier mistake.

“Babe, I was wrong. I’m sorry. I’ll buy a whole set of things for a boy too—“

Before he could reach for his phone, Isabella stopped him with a quick hand on his wrist. “Don’t rush. The important thing is that we worked through this. We don’t even know the baby’s gender yet. Everything I designed works for either one. Let’s wait until the baby’s born, then you can go on a shopping spree.”

Andrew chuckled, nodding. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

With the tension gone, Isabella felt even closer to him.

Sitting on the sofa, she watched as he resumed unpacking.

His head was slightly bowed, his sharp profile catching the light, and his long, slender fingers moved with quiet precision. There was something undeniably captivating about the way he focused, drawing Isabella’s gaze and holding it.

Andrew was the man she had entrusted her heart and her future to. No one, nothing, would ever come before him.

Later that evening, when it was time for her to rest, Andrew helped her wash up and made sure she was comfortable in bed.

With her belly growing bigger, simple tasks were becoming harder. Even sleeping felt uncomfortable, her body weighed down and restless. She was already enduring quite a lot for the baby.

However, the care team mentioned that once Isabella gave birth, she would need several months of recovery and conditioning. On top of that, she’d have to care for the baby, making the workload even more demanding than it was now.

Andrew thought about that, his heart aching for her.

As Isabella’s husband and the father of their child, Andrew knew he had to do something.

He stood by the bed, an idea sparking in his mind—why not take Isabella out for some fun before their baby arrived?

With a swift nod, he began to plan. Considering Isabella’s condition, anything physically demanding was off-limits, and traveling too far was simply impractical. A simple outing nearby would be ideal.

One quiet weekend morning, Isabella was caught off guard when she saw Andrew packing rather than preparing for work.

“Honey, aren’t you going to work today?” She approached him, planting a kiss on his cheek, her expression filled with curiosity.

Andrew smiled, his tone warm. “I finished up everything. My only task today is to take you out for some relaxation.”

“Relaxation?” Isabella’s voice held a note of pleasant surprise. Since becoming pregnant, she’d hardly had the chance to step out, so the thought of an outing with Andrew sparked a glimmer of excitement in her.

Andrew placed the last of the items in the trunk and walked to her, offering his hand.

“Everything’s packed. Let’s go, my love. Let me help you into the car.”

Isabella couldn’t resist the allure of Andrew’s charming smile.

“Thank you, sweetheart.”

She placed her hand in his, allowing him to guide her into the car.

As the car hummed to life and they passed familiar streets, Isabella’s curiosity was piqued. A sudden realization hit her, and she guessed where Andrew was taking her.

Alice Park, the romantic place Andrew had created just for the two of them.

Though the park was Isabella’s personal property, it was typically open to a select few visitors. When she and Andrew arrived, the park was neither overcrowded nor empty—it was just right.

Isabella was dressed in a soft, pale-yellow dress, her effortless beauty shining. Her shoulder-length hair was gathered neatly in a cream-colored tie, adding to her radiant, effortless charm. To anyone who didn’t know her, it was hard to believe she was in the final stages of pregnancy—she looked nothing short of glowing.

The window was half-open, and the sunlight, along with a light breeze, flowed in, bringing a sense of calm to both Isabella and the baby.

Andrew had planned a picnic, and as they drove slowly, they searched for the perfect spot.

“How about this lawn? It’s close to the water, and it’s clean.” After driving slowly for about ten minutes, Isabella glanced around the surroundings and shared her suggestion.

“Sounds perfect.”

Andrew nodded in agreement. He parked the car, then carefully retrieved a chair for Isabella to sit on while he began unloading the items from the trunk, organizing them neatly.

He was the heir to one of Ansport’s most distinguished families, a man who could steer the Klein Group to the top of the country’s business world. Yet, here he was, cooking every day and painstakingly preparing a picnic to ensure Isabella had the perfect experience.

Overcome with admiration, Isabella couldn’t help but marvel at the perfection that was Andrew. She quickly snapped a photo of him and eagerly posted it on social media.

Her caption read, “The world’s best husband, captured in one perfect moment.”

As soon as she posted it, messages flooded in. Susan and Elaine both expressed how sweet they thought Andrew and Isabella were together, each in their own way.

Andrew’s phone buzzed, and he glanced at it, expecting something work-related. Instead, it was Waylon and Dane. Dane asked, “Out with Isabella?”

Waylon followed with, “Bro, what did you do? Share your secrets.” Waylon also sent a screenshot. Curiosity piqued, Andrew opened it and saw Isabella’s post.

As he read Isabella’s caption, his eyes grew a touch more intense. He slowly raised his gaze from the screen, looking at her.

“Isabella.”

Andrew approached Isabella, each step deliberate.

Isabella glanced up from her phone, her eyes meeting his with a curious tilt of her head. “What is it, honey?”

Andrew gripped his phone tightly, a slight tilt of his head betraying his cool facade as he said, “I saw your post.”

Though Isabella had shared their love online before, this was different—more open, more affectionate. Andrew noticed the shift, sensing that she had become…

She had become more expressive since her pregnancy. While he was touched by her affection, a lingering concern bubbled beneath the surface.

Isabella gave a small nod, her voice light. “Yeah, I just posted a picture of you. Honey, do you not want me to post it?”

“It’s not that.” Andrew shook his head firmly.

Isabella frowned in confusion. “Then why did you…”

Andrew sighed deeply. “Isabella, I… I don’t think I’m the best husband. I still have so many flaws.”

Isabella was taken aback. She hadn’t expected him to say something like this.

She paused, not immediately countering his self-criticism, but allowing his words to hang in the air before she asked softly, “Then what flaws do you think you have?”

Andrew took a breath, the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him. “I’m not fun. I’m not the charming gentleman people expect. My reputation isn’t exactly stellar, and I’m not good at getting close to people…”

He listed them off one by one, his mind swirling with all the judgments others had cast upon him over the years. Isabella, moved by his vulnerability, reached out and pressed a finger gently to his lips. The cool touch of her fingertip quieted him, and he fell silent, feeling the soft comfort of her touch.

Isabella gazed at him, her voice steady and full of love. “Honey, I love you and accept everything about you. What you deem flaws makes you whole. To me, every part of you is the best.”
