He joined them on the sofa and, seeing Elaine’s emotions, offered gentle reassurance.

“Isabella is marrying Andrew right here in the city. You can see them whenever you want.”

Then, turning to Isabella, he added, “My darling daughter, from now on, you and Andrew will have a home of your own. Don’t worry about a thing—just embrace your happiness. Dad, Mom, and your brothers and sisters-in-law… we’ll always be here for you.”

“That’s right, Isabella! Just be beautiful and be the happiest bride!”

Isabella glanced around at the people who meant the most to her.

Seeing them all there, sharing this moment, made her heart warm.

She was truly lucky to have them.

“Thank you. I will!”

Meanwhile, in Mila, Waylon nearly leaped to his feet when he heard Isabella say over the phone that she and Andrew were getting married at the end of the year.

“Isabella, you’re getting married while I’m not even around?!” Isabella winced at his loud reaction, pulling the phone slightly away from her ear. Amused but exasperated, she sighed.

“Waylon, I just accepted Andrew’s proposal. The wedding is at the end of the year, when you’ll be back. I’m not running off to get married tomorrow.”

Waylon wasn’t satisfied. After a brief pause, he let out a dramatic sigh.

“But in my eyes, agreeing to his proposal is no different from marrying him already. Oh, my dear sister, you’re really leaving me behind. I thought you were calling to check on me, but instead, you’re telling me you’re getting married…”

Isabella pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head at his theatrics.

“Waylon, get a grip, or I’m hanging up on you.” At that, Waylon chuckled, his act dropping.

“Alright, alright, my dear Isabella. I’ll stop messing with you now.” His voice softened as he added, “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely be there for your and Andrew’s wedding. I would have to worry about you if you were marrying anyone else, but since it’s Andrew… I know you’ll be in good hands. I’ll be back at the end of the month!”

Hanging up the phone, Waylon strode over to his assistant, his first words firm and to the point.

“Help me modify my schedule. We’re heading back to Lorpond at the end of the month.”

The assistant froze for a second, blinking in surprise. Was this really the Waylon—the workaholic who practically lived for his job? He was actually cutting a work trip short?

Still, he did his job without hesitation.

“Understood. I’ll get everything arranged right away.”

Waylon had spent the better part of his time abroad drowning in work. He had made acquaintances, sure, but Jenny was the only one he truly considered a close friend.

So, when he told her over dinner that he was heading back to Lorpond and this was a farewell meal, she nearly dropped her fork.

“Wait—what? You never mentioned this before.”

Waylon lifted his glass, the faintest smirk playing on his lips.

“My sister’s getting married at the end of the year. It’s a big deal for the family, so I have to go back. And honestly, I’ve been in Mila for a while now. Feels like time for a change.”

He lowered his gaze slightly, letting his eyelashes veil the emotions rising within him. It wasn’t just about family. Someone else had been on his mind.

After all this time, he couldn’t help but wonder—how was she doing? Jenny, oblivious to his moment of introspection, brightened with excitement.

“Oh, you mean Isabella? The sister you always talk about?” Waylon gave a small nod.

Jenny leaned forward, eyes gleaming with curiosity.

“You know, I’ve always been dying to meet her. I’ve seen pictures—she’s gorgeous—but that’s not the same. I want to see her in person.” Then, without missing a beat, she threw in a request he should’ve seen coming.

“Waylon, take me with you to Lorpond!”

Waylon blinked, momentarily caught off guard. Jenny’s impulsiveness never failed to surprise him.

“I’m going back for something important. What about your work?”

Jenny waved off his concern.

“It’s just a few days. Besides, you’re rich. There’s no way you’d make me pay my way to visit your home and live worse than I do now, right?”

Waylon had to laugh at that. Jenny had been a huge help to him when he first arrived in Mila, and there was no way he’d let her struggle over something like this.

“How could I? Do you really think I’d let that happen? If you come with me, I’ll cover everything. Just don’t do anything illegal or immoral in my name.” Waylon’s tone was unwavering.

Jenny grinned in satisfaction.

“Now that’s more like it. I mean, isn’t this way better than working? I’ll just call it a vacation!”

Waylon sighed, but he didn’t argue. He’d once told Isabella that if he ever had the chance, he’d introduce his new friend to her. This was as good a time as any to make good on that promise.

“Alright,” he said.

“Get ready, then. We’ll leave together when the time comes.”

“No problem.”

Of course, as Andrew’s sister by blood, Evie had to attend the wedding too.

Time flew by, and soon the long-awaited day arrived.

On the eve of the wedding, the entire wedding team was hard at work, finalizing every last detail for the bride-to-be.

Isabella’s room at the Patton Manor had been transformed into something out of a dream—romantic, elegant, and perfect for the occasion.

That evening, a soft knock sounded at her door. Elaine stood there.

“Mom.”

Isabella welcomed her in, and Elaine smiled, her gaze brimming with warmth.

“My precious daughter is getting married tomorrow. Tradition says that tonight, a mother should stay by her daughter’s side.”

She guided Isabella to the vanity, pulling out a silver comb adorned with delicate red patterns. Carefully, she ran it through Isabella’s long, cascading hair.

“When I married your father, your grandmother did this for me too.” That night, Elaine and Isabella talked for hours, their conversation soft and filled with love. Elaine’s every word carried warmth, blessings, and the deep affection of a mother sending her daughter into a new chapter of life.

In the morning, the styling team and wedding planners arrived, signaling that it was time for Isabella to prepare for her big moment. Elaine stood quietly at the doorway, watching her daughter with a gaze full of unspoken emotion.

When Isabella was fully styled, she met her mother’s eyes. She lifted the hem of her gown and hurried over, wrapping Elaine in a tight hug.

“Mom, I love you.”

Elaine held her close, patting her back with a reassuring smile.

“I love you too. It’ll be a while before Andrew comes to pick you up. Eat something first, so you don’t go hungry later.”

As Isabella got ready, her bridesmaids—Milly, Maxine, and Evie—also began preparing.

Isabella had spared no effort in ensuring they had stunning dresses and top-tier styling teams so they could all shine together on this special day.

On Andrew’s side, his groomsmen—Zahir, Norton, and Malachi—were equally polished, dressed sharply in suits and ties, exuding confidence and charm.

But Waylon? This time, he wasn’t standing beside Andrew. Instead, when the wedding procession arrived at the Patton Manor, he joined Dane and Howard in blocking the gates, partaking in games meant to challenge the groom.

On his way to the Patton Manor, Andrew had been handing out wedding candies and cigarettes. Some bold passersby even recognized the grand spectacle as the wedding of the Klein family’s heir, the wealthiest man in Ansport, and eagerly stopped the procession, hoping to share in the good fortune.

As Andrew approached the Patton Manor, his heart had already vaulted over the iron gates, racing ahead to where Isabella waited. Every step brought him closer to his destiny.
