Could it be Ailyn?

The possibility was troubling, but Isabella knew better than to jump to conclusions. She decided to stay quiet for now, observing from the shadows until she could confirm her hunch.

Her brow furrowed slightly. The meeting Andrew and she had come for was scheduled for an hour later. So why had Ailyn arrived early?

Isabella’s thoughts were interrupted as Ailyn’s gaze swept the hallway and landed on her.

Recognition flared instantly in Ailyn’s eyes, followed by a faint but unmistakable frown.

Ailyn’s lips tightened as she recalled their previous encounters, each one more infuriating than the last. To make matters worse, she couldn’t ignore that Isabella was Andrew’s fianc?e.

She had been mistakenly taken from her family as a child, only to be reclaimed years later. However, her return had brought ruin to her parents’ adopted daughter and chaos to the lives of many other women who had crossed paths with her.

After learning about Isabella’s past, Ailyn couldn’t help but think of her as a bringer of bad luck.

The feeling was deep-rooted, and she despised everything about Isabella.

The last thing Ailyn expected was to encounter her here again. If Isabella was present, Andrew would likely be nearby as well.

But what about Dr. Mia?

Ailyn and her elders had arrived an hour early to show their respect for Dr. Mia, yet the unexpected early arrival of Isabella and Andrew unsettled her. What could they possibly want?

She mulled over various scenarios.

The most likely explanation was that Isabella had insisted on accompanying Andrew to meet Dr. Mia, perhaps to establish a connection with her.

Given their strained relationship, Ailyn feared that if Isabella spoke ill of her to Dr. Mia, it could easily jeopardize her invitation and tarnish Dr. Mia’s perception of her.

Ailyn’s heart grew heavy with a sense of impending crisis.

Ailyn was certain that Isabella was capable of such behavior; she simply didn’t see her fitting into the upper echelons of society.

Fortunately, she had arrived early today.

The location for the meeting, arranged by Andrew’s secretary, was vague—somewhere in the club. Given that Andrew’s private room was off-limits to all but a select few, the secretary hadn’t pinpointed an exact spot.

With both Andrew and anyone in charge absent, Ailyn spotted Isabella outside a VIP room on the second floor and deduced that must be their meeting point.

Yet Isabella was just standing there, not entering. Was it possible that Dr. Mia had found her disagreeable and kicked her out?

The more Ailyn pondered, the more convinced she became. She marched toward Isabella with her elders behind, her gaze haughty, planning to bypass Isabella without any acknowledgment.

Caught off guard, Isabella wondered about Ailyn’s intentions.

“Miss Vettel, hold on. Are you here to see Mr. Klein today?”

Ailyn, annoyed by Isabella’s obstruction, said, “You’re aware of that, so why block my way?”

The elders accompanying Ailyn seemed unconcerned about the tension between Ailyn and Isabella. They addressed Isabella in a gentler manner.

“Miss Patton, we’ve come to meet Mr. Klein. Is he here yet?”

Isabella affirmed with a nod and was about to suggest they wait, but she caught Ailyn attempting to open the door.

Reacting swiftly, Isabella interjected, “What are you doing? This isn’t the right room.”

Ailyn laughed off Isabella’s warning, clearly unconvinced. She assumed Isabella was merely playing a game of delay, employing a tactic Ailyn herself was known for, which made her think Isabella was foolish to use that on her.

Ailyn pushed against the door forcefully, while Isabella clung firmly to the doorknob, not yielding.

The elders with Ailyn gave Isabella disapproving looks. They wondered why she was obstructing their entry if Dr. Mia was indeed inside.

“Miss Patton, we should not keep Mr. Klein and Dr. Mia waiting. Please, let us through.”

Isabella realized they had misunderstood, but she couldn’t just disclose her identity in such a crowded venue. She said, “This really isn’t the right room. The person you’re here to meet isn’t behind this door.”

Despite her polite explanation, the elders were skeptical, evidently thinking Isabella had a hidden agenda and ignoring her attempts to redirect them.

Outnumbered and facing their critical stares, Isabella felt overwhelmed by their persistence.

Struggling to convince the stubborn group, Isabella finally relented in frustration, stepping aside.

If Ailyn was determined to enter, Isabella thought, she would just let her face the consequences. She knew the club valued privacy, and it was usual for VIP room doors to be locked. Isabella watched, anticipating Ailyn’s embarrassment when she found the door locked.

Yet, to her shock, Ailyn swung the door open effortlessly. Isabella inhaled sharply in surprise, unprepared for the door to be unlocked.

Inside was Quentin Robinson, an adoptive member of the Robinson family from Ansport, known for his volatile nature and feared in the northern parts of the city.

He was sipping his drink alone, and Ailyn’s unexpected entrance fueled his fury. Scowling, he seized a glass and threw it towards her. “Watch out, Miss Vettel!”

Nathan was quick to act, intercepting the glass deftly.

However, the contents still splashed onto Ailyn.

Ailyn stood there, dumbfounded.

She struggled to grasp why such an incident would happen in a room reserved for their meeting with Dr. Mia. Events escalated rapidly. Quentin, already irritable, saw red when his intended target was spared by another’s intervention. He swore and lunged at Ailyn.

Nathan stepped in, shielding her, and a fight erupted instantly.

The altercation intensified quickly, drawing in the elders, who tried to calm the situation but ended up embroiled in the melee. Meanwhile, Isabella found herself trapped in the hallway, blocked by the unfolding chaos. Noise filled the area recklessly.

Just then, Andrew and the manager reappeared, walking into the disarray.

“Sweetheart, are you okay?”

Andrew’s immediate concern was for Isabella’s well-being.

Isabella replied, “I’m fine, but they might not be.”

Briefly, Isabella relayed the cause of the altercation, ending with a shrug. “I tried to tell them this wasn’t the right room, but no one would listen.”

Andrew’s expression turned cold as he directed the staff to separate Quentin and Nathan.

While Quentin was still eager to fight, the presence of several people restraining him cooled his temper momentarily. Then, catching Andrew’s stern look, he calmed down further.

He was aware of the gravity of causing trouble in a club owned by the Klein Group.

Gradually coming to his senses, Quentin straightened his attire and cleaned the blood from his lip, trying to defend his actions. “Mr. Klein, I assure you, I’m not at fault. I was quietly drinking when these individuals stormed in. I had to defend myself.”

Andrew surveyed the scene—Quentin claiming self-defense, Nathan visibly battered, and Ailyn, her appearance marred by spilled wine.

Despite Quentin’s weak justification, he had been the one intruded upon.

Before Quentin could think through his next move, Andrew explained the situation. “They were my guests, though they mistakenly entered the wrong room.”

Quentin’s confusion deepened, wrinkles forming on his brow as he tried to discern Andrew’s stance. Yet Andrew continued evenly, “My apologies for the interruption, Mr. Robinson. To make amends, the Klein Group will take care of the issues you’ve faced with those materials. Should you require a different room, just let our staff know.”

Quentin was momentarily taken aback.

He had been troubled by the issues with those materials today, and here was Andrew, not only dismissing the chaos he had caused but also offering solutions.

Suspicion flickered across Quentin’s face as he reassessed Andrew and then glanced at Ailyn and Nathan.

Had Andrew not clarified that they were his invited guests, Quentin might have assumed he had inadvertently assisted Andrew by teaching his enemies a lesson.

The way these top-tier elites handled things was indeed beyond his comprehension, yet he wasn’t one to spurn an unexpected favor. Smiling gratefully, he said, “Mr. Klein, your generosity is unparalleled. Thank you. The room is fine; it just needs a bit of tidying.”
