Jared couldn’t help but think that Jada was only making things worse for herself.

“Of course Isabella is here. Without her, today’s assessment simply couldn’t move forward!” Jared declared with authority.

“What do you mean by that?” Jada demanded.

“She’s our chief examiner!” Jared replied, his voice unwavering.

Just then, Isabella strolled over. Her beauty was striking, and her demeanor frosty. In that moment, everyone couldn’t help but think of one word: “Rose.”

“Could Isabella actually be Rose?” a man asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

Isabella, her tone as icy as ever, responded with calm authority, “That’s correct. I am your chief examiner, Rose. Now, I hear there have been some doubts about today’s assessment?”

Jada felt the world tilt beneath her. Her vision wavered. Isabella wasn’t just Rosemarie; she was also Rose… How could she be so amazing?

“No, I refuse to believe it! It’s impossible! Jared and Isabella are close—they must be lying to us, right?” Jada shouted, her composure unraveling.

All her life, she had been praised for her achievements, but after meeting Isabella, her confidence had shattered numerous times. Everything she took pride in seemed insignificant in comparison.

Jared shot her a look, as if she were a fool.

Meanwhile, Isabella pulled out the Qiviut Organization’s badge, gleaming brightly in the light. It was impossible to fake. Besides, the idea that Jared would help Isabella pose as Rose was absurd to anyone watching.

Jada clenched her teeth in frustration. “Fine, even if you are Rose, there’s no way Gabriela came first in this assessment.” She was unwilling to accept that all her hard work could be outdone by Gabriela.

“You’re free to raise your doubts,” Isabella said, “but according to the organization’s rules, if there’s no foul play, you’ll have to kneel and apologize publicly. If there’s foul play, I will resign.”

Jada hesitated for a moment, but quickly nodded. She was sure of herself—she hadn’t made many mistakes in the exam.

Isabella, unfazed, called for both their test papers and the correct answers to be posted on the wall for everyone to see. Jada examined every question with intense scrutiny, unwilling to overlook a single one. She had made two mistakes.

Even so, she thought her performance was impressive. Could Gabriela really have answered everything perfectly?

Jada then turned her attention to Gabriela’s test paper. Shock washed over her as she realized Gabriela hadn’t made a single mistake. Her face turned ashen.

As the room collectively absorbed the results, murmurs filled the air.

“Gabriela’s incredible!”

“Not one mistake? That’s impressive.”

“Jada did well, but why was she so confident, thinking she’d come first?”

Slowly, the crowd began to distance themselves from Jada. She stood frozen, feeling the weight of mocking stares, her eyes hollow.

Gabriela’s voice cut through the tension. “Jada, you slandered our examiner. Apologize!”

Gabriela’s gaze was sharp with conviction—Rose was her idol, and she wouldn’t tolerate anyone tarnishing her name.

Jada’s eyes flickered toward Isabella.

Without warning, she lunged at her.

No one had anticipated the attack, and even fewer noticed where Jada had pulled the knife from, but she thrust it toward Isabella with alarming force.

Jared’s face went pale.

Jada had lost her mind!

What a fool!

Jada’s mind was a whirlwind, consumed by the singular thought of killing Isabella. Isabella had ceased to be human to her.

Just as the knife was about to strike, Isabella swiftly dodged.

Jada was quick to adjust, immediately launching another attack. But it was as if Isabella had seen it coming. With a sudden movement, she grabbed Jada’s wrist and brought her down in one swift motion.

Jada felt like her entire body was shattering from the pain, utterly broken inside. She had been defeated in a single move, unable to even stand. Isabella, calm as ever, turned to Jared and said, “Handle it.”

Jared nodded without a word, and soon enough, Jada was handed over to the police.

Afterward, Isabella met up with Susan.

She had been wondering how to get a sample of Jada’s hair, but Jada had practically handed her the opportunity.

Susan had also managed to collect some of Esteban’s hair from home and passed it to Isabella.

Isabella sent both samples to the hospital for testing. The results would take a few days to come back.

Jada’s arrest sent shockwaves through the city. Her reputation was in tatters.

“Jada attempted murder? How terrifying.”

“Jada seems like a lunatic, my goodness… She always seemed so composed. Was that just a front?”

“Jada acted so arrogantly, convinced of her superiority and bragging endlessly. It was foolish of her to flaunt her opportunity to undergo the Qiviut Organization’s assessment. With all the secrets of the Qiviut Organization, I doubt any member would willingly expose their identities.”

“Honestly, Jada has no sense; she’s downright reckless.”

Isabella, however, found herself with no respite in sight. With her engagement to Andrew fast approaching, she was caught up in a whirlwind of venue arrangements.

Yet, amidst the chaos, she felt happy.

Susan would pop up from time to time to lend a hand. Their lives seemed to have settled back into a comforting rhythm of peace and warmth.

That was, until an unexpected upheaval struck the Riggs family.

That day, Susan had promised to join Isabella, but she didn’t show up. Isabella was busy decorating the engagement venue alongside her family when Elaine glanced at her phone and suddenly exclaimed, “Mara has attempted suicide!”

Instantly, all eyes were on her.

Elaine continued, “Esteban wants to divorce Mara, but she refuses to let go, so she tried to take her own life. They’re trying to revive her right now. A lot of people online think Esteban cheated, but those fools have no idea what really happened!”

Netizens often rallied behind the one who appeared weaker. After decades of standing by each other through life’s trials, Esteban now sought a divorce from Mara. Wasn’t that downright cruel?

Among women in the same age group as Mara, the comments surged with intensity and indignation. Esteban’s actions had enraged countless middle-aged couples. With Mara’s tragic suicide attempt, the tide of sympathy grew stronger, casting her in an even more heartbreaking light.

She had made a remarkably strategic move.

If Esteban pressed for the divorce, his company would undoubtedly face a significant blow.

“Mara’s satisfaction won’t hold up for much longer,” Isabella remarked with calm confidence.

Elaine, intrigued, responded, “But given the current circumstances, if Esteban pushes for the divorce, netizens will surely come down hard on him. Unless Mara truly did something unforgivable.”

“Indeed, she did something very wrong,” Isabella replied with a knowing smile.

Elaine was momentarily taken aback, her gaze fixed on Isabella’s confident demeanor. She muttered, “It must be something like an affair, right?”

“Even more serious than an affair,” Isabella answered.

Elaine struggled to fathom what it could possibly be.

Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she stared at Isabella in shock. Isabella simply smiled and nodded in affirmation. Elaine couldn’t help but pat her chest, her mind reeling at the thought of what Mara had done.

After a whirlwind of a day, the engagement venue was finally ready.

Andrew had promised to come in the evening but sent a message saying he was caught up with work at the office. Isabella chose not to press him, allowing him to handle his business without adding pressure.
