Instantly, her two bodyguards sprang into action, restraining Susan, whose expression darkened. “What are you doing?”

“You drugged me, didn’t you?” Jessica Wilson shot back, her voice laced with indignation. “You Lorpondians are quite crafty. Take her away!”

The uproar naturally attracted the attention of the other contestants. Witnessing Jessica’s blatant bullying of Susan, they cast sympathetic glances in her direction, yet felt utterly powerless. After all, Jessica was a princess of Aswil.

Jada stepped out of her room, arching an eyebrow at the unfolding scene. She felt thrilled. She had been contemplating how to eliminate Susan from the equation, and Susan had foolishly provoked Princess Jessica! This princess was notorious for her vengeful and ruthless nature!

But why on earth was Isabella still sticking around with Susan? “I advise you not to do this,” Isabella said.

“And who are you?” Jessica shot her a dismissive glance, gesturing for the bodyguards to escort Susan away.

Isabella pressed on, “Do you know who she is? She’s Jada’s older sister. Surely you’ve heard of Jada Riggs, the acclaimed perfumer from Lorpond! If you dare treat my friend this way, Jada won’t take it lightly!”

Jessica’s brow furrowed in irritation. Before coming here, she had done her homework on the potential winners, and Jada’s name had been on the list. She turned to face the crowd, her gaze locking onto Jada. “Are you Jada Riggs?” she asked icily. “I intend to take your sister away. What are you going to do about it?”

The eyes of the onlookers were fixed on Jada. A cold sweat broke out on her brow as Jada found herself in a difficult position. Everyone was well aware of her relationship with Susan; if she stood idly by, she would undoubtedly be branded as cold and heartless.

But this was Princess Jessica! Jada had no desire to provoke this tyrannical woman. What in the world was Isabella thinking? Didn’t she want to stop being Susan’s friend? Why was she suddenly stepping up for Susan now?

“Susan, I just heard Princess Jessica claim you drugged her. This is a competition; how could you stoop so low?” Jada wore her customary expression of feigned softness and helplessness. “I know you want to win, but you can’t resort to such underhanded tactics. She’s just an innocent contestant!”

Jada’s words implied that Susan wasn’t truly a victim. If it hadn’t been Jessica’s room next to hers, someone else would have fallen for the trick. So, Susan didn’t deserve everyone’s sympathy.

“Jada, what are you talking about? Susan didn’t drug her. Jessica is lying because we didn’t give her our room,” Isabella said anxiously.

The other contestants had witnessed the scene of them fighting over the room and began voicing their opinions.

“Yes, I saw it. It was Jessica who tried to take Susan’s room.”

“Everyone has their own designated rooms. I don’t understand why Jessica still tried to grab someone else’s room…”

The people around could only speak in whispers, aware of the tension hanging thick in the air.

Jada found herself caught in a difficult situation again. She was torn between helping and not getting involved.

At this moment, Jessica said coldly, “I wanted the room, and I asked for it openly. But what did you do? You drugged me secretly. Isn’t that vile? I almost couldn’t finish the competition.”

This time, Isabella stepped forward, holding a glass of water she had brought out from Susan’s room. “Is this the drug you’re talking about? Someone delivered this water to us, and something seems off about it.”

The other contestants moved closer to take a better look. As perfumers, they were naturally very sensitive to scents. One of the contestants sniffed the water in the glass and murmured, “Indeed, this water smells a bit strange.”

The smell was so subtle that one might not notice it without paying close attention. The rest of the contestants leaned in with curiosity in their eyes, immediately suspecting that something had been added to the water.

Everyone realized how shockingly underhanded Jessica’s actions were. They knew Jessica’s personality, but they never expected her to go this far. How dare she bribe a waiter to deliver drugged water to someone!

Anyone who drank it would definitely fall asleep and wouldn’t be able to finish the competition.

Everyone who joined this competition loved perfumery. Before, none of them dared to offend Jessica, thinking about her status and the influence she wielded in the industry. But now, they could no longer contain their anger.

“This is really too much,” whispered someone.

“Where are the competition organizers? Why don’t they intervene?”

The crowd continued to discuss quietly, their voices a mix of curiosity, anger, and determination.

Jessica could hear them vaguely, and her face darkened with anger. How dare they openly criticize her! She turned to Isabella, pointing a finger at her nose and shouting, “How dare you frame me! Take her away, too!”

One bodyguard immediately stepped forward and grabbed Isabella.

Jessica held her head high. Her bodyguards were ex-mercenaries, and she was confident they could handle two women effortlessly. Now, she wanted to show everyone how powerful she was.

She snorted coldly and turned around to leave. But suddenly, a loud bang rang out in her ears.

She was so startled that she quickly turned around, only to see one of her bodyguards being knocked to the floor and another being kicked away by Isabella. Even the crowd gasped, their eyes widening in shock.

Susan raised her hand, scattering powder into the air. Suddenly, the bodyguards felt a wave of weakness wash over them, unable to get up.

Susan and Isabella exchanged determined glances and tacitly walked toward Jessica.

Jessica’s face turned pale, and her confidence began to crumble. She thought this place was very safe, so she had brought only two bodyguards. She didn’t expect Isabella and Susan to take them down so easily.

“You… What do you want to do? How dare you bully me like this! These are the bodyguards of a royal family. Since you dared to attack them, you’ve offended the royal family in Aswil!” Jessica shouted with feigned bravado.

“Oh, really? Why do I feel your royal family isn’t as formidable as you claim?” Isabella said, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she chuckled.

Susan added, “Don’t you realize that saying such things will only make people think you are losers?”

This was the first time Jessica was humiliated like this. Her face darkened even more as she glared at Isabella with blazing eyes. “You’re crazy! Do you think you can afford the consequences of offending me?”

“Jessica, the little princess. You know your situation well, right? Just because people don’t know the royal family of Aswil well, you think you can flaunt your status here. You are just an illegitimate child, a disgraced princess. How can you shamelessly cling to this title?” Isabella sneered.

Jessica’s face turned ashen when she heard this. How did Isabella know?

Everyone was also surprised by such a revelation. They knew Jessica was a princess, but they didn’t expect her to be an illegitimate daughter. No wonder Jessica had never returned to her country. Instead, she had stayed in Lorpond for a long time. It turned out that her own country didn’t welcome her at all.

Jessica knew her status very well, but she still bossed them around. This made the crowd even angrier. They could no longer hide their disdain. Murmurs rippled through the place again.

“No wonder Jessica lacks refinement. It turns out she is an illegitimate child.”

“Illegitimate children are always shunned in the royal family.”

“She still dares to act so arrogantly here. How ridiculous!”

They openly expressed their contempt, thinking they no longer needed to pretend to be respectful to Jessica.

Jessica was so angry that she clenched her fists tightly. Those insulting words from the crowd infuriated her. “I am a princess in Aswil. How dare you commoners judge me! Since you dared to knock down my bodyguards, kneel and apologize.”

Susan raised her hand again. She sprinkled powder on Jessica’s face, making Jessica feel so weak that she slowly sat on the floor.

Jessica asked through clenched teeth, “What did you do to me?”

“Asking us to kneel and apologize? Humph! You should be the one to apologize to us,” Susan said expressionlessly. “You know very well how many perfumers you have bullied since you came to Lorpond. So, you owe everyone an apology. Also, promise never to bully anyone again. Otherwise, I won’t give you the antidote. You will stay squatting here forever.”

“You…” Jessica clenched her fists tightly. She was furious, but her body felt so heavy that she didn’t even have the energy to react.

The scene unfolding left the surrounding perfumers utterly shocked. The perfumes crafted by them could be calming and even have hypnotic effects. However, their perfumes could never make people entirely powerless. This was something only a master perfumer could do.

Susan’s talent was definitely not ordinary. With this realization, everyone couldn’t help but look at Susan with admiration.

Jessica’s heart felt heavy with frustration. But her mood instantly lightened when she saw a familiar figure approaching. “Mr. Patton, you’re here.”

As soon as Dane and the event organizers arrived, the crowd greeted them politely in unison, their voices filled with respect. Dane nodded at them in response. Then, he turned to Jessica and asked, “What is going on here?”

Jessica immediately put on an exaggeratedly miserable expression. “They bullied me, and this woman drugged me.”

Dane’s gaze shifted to Susan, who pursed her lips and recounted what had just happened while handing the drugged glass of water to him.

Actually, she wondered why Dane had suddenly appeared with the organizers.

Dane took the glass from Susan with an unreadable expression and sniffed at it. Then, he passed it to one of the organizers and said, “It seems the competition rules need a bit more rigor.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Patton. We’ll have someone investigate this matter immediately. We will never tolerate such behavior.”

Suddenly, Jessica said, “Mr. Patton, I really don’t know anything about this. I didn’t drug anyone. But they really bullied me, completely disregarding the diplomatic relations between our countries.”

Dane asked Susan, “Do you know who Jessica is?” His tone was stern.

Susan met his gaze with unwavering confidence and replied softly, “Yes, I know who she is. She is the princess of Aswil.”
