Just then, the wailing of police sirens sliced through the chaos, causing the crowd to scatter. Tatiana stood there, dazed and disoriented, her hat and mask ripped away, leaving her face bare for all to see. The people around her cast glances filled with disgust, treating her like a pariah at every turn.

Tatiana dared not venture outside again and hurried back to the safety of her home. After a long, soothing shower, she finally managed to calm her frazzled nerves. Just then, the doorbell rang.

She opened the door to find a package waiting on her doorstep. As she brought the package inside, she remembered the luxury skincare products she had ordered, which lifted her spirits momentarily.

But when she opened the box, horror struck—inside lay a dead rat, blood oozing from its lifeless body. She screamed in sheer terror, collapsing onto the floor in a heap of shock.

In tears, Tatiana dialed Hector’s number, recounting the grim ordeal she had just endured. Hector said reassuringly, “Don’t be afraid. Just stay at a hotel for now. Once the storm passes, no one will think about this anymore.”

“Okay,” she sobbed in agreement.

As she ended the call, a notification on her phone caught her eye. “Global Entertainment Responds.”

Global Entertainment’s post read, “We are deeply outraged by Tatiana’s actions. While we acknowledge our oversight in this matter, we have swiftly implemented appropriate disciplinary measures internally. We appreciate the vigilant netizens for supervising our actions. Rest assured, we are committed to improving continuously and learning from our mistakes!”

The comments on Global Entertainment’s tweet were a swirling mix of reactions. After all, Global Entertainment had long mastered the art of preserving its pristine image, while Tatiana’s reputation lay in tatters. Some people even went so far as to say that she was the one who had pulled Global Entertainment into the depths of disgrace.

“Global Entertainment seems rather pitiful, doesn’t it? Why not just cut ties with Tatiana altogether?”

Global Entertainment responded, “We have a contract in place. While Tatiana’s behavior was undeniably excessive, there isn’t sufficient evidence to prove her culpability. Her assistant has already confessed and compensated Kathy. Given these circumstances, we cannot compel her to leave the company.”

The underlying message was clear: they wished for Tatiana to be gone as well, but without breaching the contract, they found themselves powerless to act. In an instant, Global Entertainment’s reputation soared in the eyes of the public, with the blame swiftly transferring almost entirely to Tatiana.

“Global Entertainment appears genuinely sincere. Malicious individuals like Tatiana would use such underhanded antics wherever they go!”

“I feel like this is all on Tatiana. Why would a huge company like Global Entertainment go after a minor artist for her sake?”

“Honestly, Global Entertainment is the victim here. Can’t Tatiana just leave on her own? It’s downright disgusting!”

“I’ll never watch anything with Tatiana in it again. I hope she disappears from the entertainment scene soon!”

Tatiana’s fingers shook as she scrolled through the comments. This wasn’t supposed to happen—it was Hector’s idea. She had taken on all the blame to protect the company, yet now they were turning on her, letting the storm of hatred fall squarely on her shoulders. Was all of this Hector’s doing?

Tatiana was deeply troubled, but when she took a step back to consider the bigger picture, it made sense. Her reputation was already in tatters, and if Global Entertainment also got into trouble, the damage would only worsen. No matter—so long as she kept Hector close, everything would be fine.

She was determined to rise to power, and once she did, who would even care about her past in the entertainment world?

Since Edge Entertainment’s name had been cleared, the media storm against them vanished, causing their stock prices to rebound sharply. As for Global Entertainment, despite their attempts to clarify things, they still lost some public support. This blow would leave a lasting mark on Hector’s memory.

Isabella’s lips curved into a subtle smile.

She wrapped up her work early that day, and the next morning, she headed to a hotel with Susan for the competition. The place buzzed with perfumers from across the country. A crowd gathered, waiting for the elevator doors to open. As Isabella and Susan stepped in, someone suddenly bumped into them hard.

Had Isabella not reacted quickly, Susan would have been thrown against the wall. Isabella turned, her gaze landing on two bodyguards flanking a young woman draped in luxury.

The woman, with sunglasses shielding her eyes, had golden hair tumbling down to her waist and was adorned in the latest high-end fashion. Her figure was as graceful as it was commanding. She crossed her arms, radiating an air of cold arrogance.

“Hey, that’s crossing the line! We were all waiting here. What makes you think you can just cut in?” Isabella’s voice held a touch of anger.

The woman cast a brief glance her way but said nothing, as if Isabella wasn’t worth the effort of a response.

Isabella stood there, furious, ready to say something more when Susan gently tugged at her sleeve.

As the elevator doors slowly closed, Susan whispered, “Let it go, Isabella. She’s a member of the royal family in Aswil. We really don’t want to pick a fight with someone like her.”

Another nearby contestant, who had overheard, nodded and added, “Yeah, she’s got serious connections. Did you notice those two bodyguards with her? They’re ex-mercenaries. You don’t want to cross someone like her, or the consequences would be dire.”

Everyone bristled at the princess’s arrogant demeanor, but her noble status made opposing her impossible for most, leaving them with no choice but to step aside.

The royal family in Aswil? Did being royalty really give her the right to trample over others? Isabella’s displeasure simmered beneath the surface, but since Susan didn’t want to escalate things, she held her tongue. After all, Susan was the one competing, not her.

They reached the hall, listened to the competition rules, and soon the qualifying round began. Each contestant, along with their assistant, would step into a private room to craft a fragrance that aligned with the given theme, using only the materials provided. They had three hours.

Isabella, serving as Susan’s assistant, would go with her to the designated room. The rooms had been randomly assigned, and Susan’s room, by chance, was at the far end, offering a stunning view through the window.

Just as they were about to step inside, two burly bodyguards blocked their path.

A haughty voice called out from behind, “I want this room. You can take the one next door.”

Even the typically good-natured Susan felt a flicker of annoyance. “The rooms are assigned by the competition organizers. What you’re doing is completely against the rules!”

“Rules can change,” the woman said, her voice dripping with arrogance. She shot a dismissive glance at Susan before striding confidently toward the room.

With a swift flick of Isabella’s hand, the woman suddenly stumbled forward. Luckily, the bodyguards were quick to catch her, yet she still appeared somewhat flustered.

Looking down, she discovered a marble that had mysteriously appeared on the floor, even though the floor had been spotless just moments ago. Glaring at Isabella and Susan, the woman pointed a finger at Susan and asked, “Did you do this to me?” Her gesture dripped with disdain and contempt.

“Smack!”

Isabella swiftly slapped the woman’s hand away and firmly led Susan into the room. As the door clicked shut, the woman was engulfed in a wave of humiliation.

From childhood, she had always been spoiled and had everything handed to her on a silver platter, never having been treated so rudely before. Grinding her teeth in frustration, she whispered something to one of her bodyguards, who nodded in response before leaving. The other bodyguard and the woman strode into her room. As soon as they entered the rooms, the competition timers sprang to life.

“Take a break; I can handle this on my own,” Susan said to Isabella.

Susan smiled warmly at Isabella, aware that these spices posed a challenge for most to identify. “It’s okay. I’ll help you pick out the spices you need.”

Isabella selected more than a dozen spices from the extensive collection, arranging them thoughtfully before Susan, who stared in astonishment. “Wow, you can make perfume too? Most people can’t even discern which spices to use!”

“I know a little,” Isabella replied. As a doctor, she possessed some knowledge in this realm. She chose not to involve herself further, settling into a nearby chair, ready to spring into action if Susan needed her. Halfway through, a waiter knocked softly and entered, delivering a pitcher of water and an array of snacks.

Susan, wholly absorbed in her task, felt the tug of thirst and reached for a glass. However, Isabella, sensing something was off, swiftly grasped her hand.

At the same moment, Susan noticed a faint, unsettling scent wafting from the water. “There might be something in this water,” Susan remarked, her expression shifting to one of concern.

Isabella said with calm certainty, “If I’m not mistaken, this water is likely laced with a sedative. Take a sip, and you’ll fall asleep. If I’m right, it was probably sent by the princess in the next room.”

The princess, steeped in her royal pride, would undoubtedly find it hard to stomach the disrespect shown to her. Yet, with such devious machinations, did she truly deserve the title of princess?

“This woman is simply outrageous!” Susan exclaimed, unable to restrain herself any longer. With determination, she approached the array of spices, selecting a handful before skillfully blending them together.

A mere fifteen minutes later, she deftly wrapped the concocted powder in paper, rolling it tightly before heading to the window and blowing it toward the neighboring room.

Isabella offered an approving thumbs up. “Impressive! You managed to whip up a sedative fragrance in such a short time!”

Susan replied, “I didn’t want to cause her trouble, but she pushed too far. We need to show her what we’re capable of, or she’ll keep causing us problems.”

Isabella couldn’t help but admire her greatly—this was the fierce Susan she had always known.

Meanwhile, in the next room, the princess was utterly engrossed in making her perfume, exuding confidence in her skills and unwavering determination to win the competition. A bodyguard leaned in to whisper something in her ear, and a satisfied smile spread across her face.

However, before long, a yawn escaped her lips as she felt an unsettling wave of drowsiness wash over her. Though she had ensured a restful night’s sleep for the competition, an inexplicable fatigue now tugged at her senses. She pinched herself, trying to stave off the creeping lethargy, but the weight of sleep was overwhelming, her eyelids growing heavier with each passing moment.

“Princess, what’s the matter?”

“Something feels off! Someone has drugged me!” she gritted her teeth.

“But no one came in here. How could you have been drugged?” the bodyguard replied.

The woman was equally baffled, and then a thought struck her like lightning. “It must be those two women!”

Her mind was clouded, fighting against the overwhelming urge to succumb to sleep, but she struggled to concentrate on her task.

Three hours later, the competition drew to a close, with the doors of the contestants’ rooms sliding open automatically. The judges stood waiting at the thresholds, ready to collect everyone’s perfumes.

The princess thrust her work into a judge’s hands before striding over to Susan with an air of fury.

With her arms crossed and an imperious glare, she barked, “Get her!”
