To Howard, Milly was beyond forgiveness.

“Do you love Nalani?” Isabella continued.

After a moment of contemplation, Howard said, “She’s a good match and has been kind. I think it’s worth a shot. I’m at an age where settling down and getting married would make our parents happy.”

“Nonsense. You’re still young, Howard. You should marry for love. Anything else will only worry our parents,” Isabella said.

“I have my reasons. Nalani is a good person,” Howard insisted. Unable to change his mind, Isabella ended the call with a heavy sigh.

Howard put his phone away and looked out the window. The tree outside stood quiet in the night, enveloped in shadows. Nalani gazed at Howard with admiration and walked over to hold his arm. “Mr. Patton, it’s late. We should call it a day.”

Howard gently pulled his arm away and said, “Alright, let’s go.”

The night was far from ordinary.

Isabella wasn’t the only one feeling uneasy.

Tatiana left the hospital and went straight to Hector’s place. Hector didn’t get off work until very late.

When she saw him, Tatiana greeted him, saying, “Darling…”

“Slap!”

Tatiana found herself on the floor, her hand on her cheek, looking up in disbelief. Hector’s face was expressionless, as if someone else had struck her.

She gazed at Hector, stunned. In her memories, Hector had always been kind and polite, never once losing his cool.

Was it really Hector who had just hit her?

“‘Darling?” Tatiana asked softly.

Hector extended his hand to help her up, softly touched her cheek, and said, “I’m sorry. Are you alright?” Tatiana smelled alcohol on his breath.

He was drunk…

That explained it. Some people just lose control when they drink…

Feeling aggrieved, Tatiana embraced him tightly. “You frightened me. Why have you been drinking? Is it because of the rumors online?”

“Yes, Tatiana,” Hector answered quietly, yet his voice was steady.

“It’s okay. You’re smart enough to handle this,” Tatiana reassured him, despite her own precarious situation. After all, she had declared that if Global Entertainment was behind Kathy’s ordeal, she would have to kneel and apologize.

“Will you help me?” Hector asked, his eyes locked on hers.

Tatiana replied, “Tell me, how can I be of assistance?”

As Hector laid out the details, worry deepened on Tatiana’s face. “But if I admit to that, won’t I be blamed? Will my film still be released?”

“As long as I’m here, you have nothing to worry about. If you don’t step up, everyone will blame Global Entertainment,” Hector said, his gaze never leaving Tatiana. “Tatiana, without Global Entertainment, you have no future.”

Tatiana was aware of this yet remained fearful.

“Consider it carefully, Tatiana. I’m at a pivotal moment in my career. If Global Entertainment falls, my plans will fall through,” Hector said as he stroked her cheek, his tone chilling like a devil’s whisper.

Tatiana remained still, the wind howling outside the window. The following day brought gloomy weather.

Isabella awoke to the howling wind, a stark sign of winter’s onset with a sharp drop in temperature.

Just a few days prior, Andrew had given her a down jacket. Isabella disliked bulky clothing, yet today, she had no choice but to wear it.

When Isabella went downstairs, she found Andrew sitting on the sofa, looking relaxed. The smell of fresh breakfast filled the air, and her eyes quickly darted to the table, where some dishes were neatly laid out. Clearly, he had just bought them.

“Good morning. You’ve just woken up?” Andrew greeted her with a smile.

He had timed everything perfectly, bringing breakfast just as Isabella woke up. It was evident he knew her routine well.

“Good morning,” Isabella replied warmly, making her way to the sofa and sitting beside him, feeling comforted by his attentive care. She lightly touched her head and said softly, “Do you have any flaws?”

“Huh?”

“You are perfect,” Isabella mused. “You excel at work and are so good at taking care of others.”

Andrew looked at her with amusement, his eyes lingering on her adorable expression. A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “It’s all thanks to you.”

“Me? Why me?”

Andrew looked into her eyes and smiled softly. “Because you make me realize I am capable of taking care of someone.” There was deep meaning in his words, and his eyes were filled with affection and tenderness.

Isabella’s heart fluttered at his gaze, and a wave of shyness washed over her. She quickly picked up a pie and took a bite to hide her flushed face.

“Hmm… It’s delicious!” Isabella’s eyes immediately lit up.

Andrew smiled, leaning in and gently wiping the sauce from the corner of her mouth with his thumb. “Slow down. The pie is still hot. You might burn your mouth.”

After breakfast, Andrew offered to drive Isabella to her company. While he focused on driving, she leaned back in her seat, pulled out her phone, and searched for updates about Kathy.

She breathed a sigh of relief when the latest update confirmed that Kathy was now under police protection and safe.

Kathy had bravely exposed the corruption behind Global Entertainment, a shocking revelation that quickly went viral. The netizens were infuriated, flooding social media with demands for an explanation from the company.

Tatiana had said that if Global Entertainment had indeed been involved in Kathy’s disappearance, she would kneel and apologize. Everyone was now berating Tatiana for not keeping her word.

“What about the kneeling? We are all waiting for it.”

“This is so disappointing! Tatiana has started filming again, so I thought she would behave herself this time. But she never does. Does she even respect the fans who have been supporting her for so many years?”

“That’s right! She is really disappointing!”

“Tatiana, where are you? When are you going to kneel and apologize?”

“Ha-ha! Tatiana and Global Entertainment are in cahoots. No wonder she was so resolute before. She believed Kathy could never show up again.”

“Guys, look closely at this incident. Don’t you find it terrifying? Global Entertainment has been very vicious in its every move, trying to pin all the blame on Edge Entertainment. If Kathy really died with no evidence, we might still be suspecting Edge Entertainment.”

“Global Entertainment’s ability to control public opinion is truly amazing. I’m impressed!”

Almost the entire online world was criticizing Global Entertainment and Tatiana. The backlash was overwhelming. After reading through the comments, Isabella was curious about how Hector would handle this situation.

“Would you like to go to my grandpa’s place for dinner tomorrow?” Andrew suddenly asked.

Isabella subconsciously replied, “I can’t. Susan is joining a competition, and I need to be there for her.”

“Alright,” Andrew replied softly, not pressing further.

However, Isabella noticed the slight disappointment on his face. She quickly offered, “How about the day after tomorrow?”

“Okay, let’s do that.”

Andrew ruffled Isabella’s long hair playfully, a gesture he had grown fond of over time.

Isabella was relieved to see him back to his usual self.

Isabella had just wrapped up her morning meeting at the company when she unexpectedly received a call from Jada.

“Isabella, what gift are you planning to bring tomorrow?” Jada asked.

Isabella was confused for a moment. Tomorrow? Did Jada mean bringing a gift to Klein Manor? Was Jada going there tomorrow, too?
