Isabella looked at Andrew with curiosity and asked, “You’ve been working from home lately. Aren’t you heading to the office?”

“It’s the same to work from home.” Andrew held her close, his gaze tender as he admired her radiant face. “Spending every day with you gives my life its true meaning.”

Isabella blushed and said, “You… if others saw this, they’d think I’m seducing you and keeping you from your work.”

“You are the seductress!” Andrew teased as his lips brushed against Isabella’s. A wave of warmth and numbness washed over her, causing her body to stiffen reflexively, and her eyelashes to flutter. She gazed at the handsome face before her and slowly closed her eyes. Andrew’s kiss was warm and gentle, gradually melting her resolve. Her breathing quickened.

She felt as if her entire body was being slowly heated, softening under his warmth. Then she felt a cool touch at her waist—it was Andrew’s hand. His slender fingers stroked her soft skin, moving upward gradually.

Isabella’s eyelashes fluttered more intensely as she clung tighter to his shirt. The coolness of his hand contrasted starkly with the heat of her skin, intensifying her sensations.

Suddenly, she felt both warmth and firmness pressing against her. She snapped her eyes open, her face flushing deeper. Gazing into Andrew’s deep, dark eyes, Isabella felt as if she could be drawn into them at any moment. Realizing what was about to happen, she slowly shut her eyes again. Their heartbeats accelerated.

Andrew’s hand moved to Isabella’s chest. Her body quavered involuntarily. She placed her hand on his chest, pushing slightly, but then hesitated.

Isabella braced herself mentally for the next step when Andrew suddenly said, “I need to go to the bathroom,” and stood up, leaving the room.

Isabella watched his retreating figure in disbelief. She had just prepared herself for the moment, and he had left just like that?

A moment later, the sound of water running in the bathroom reached her ears, and she sighed helplessly.

Half an hour later, Andrew reappeared, dressed in black casual clothes that made him look effortlessly cool and attractive. He sat down beside her, but Isabella just pursed her lips and turned to her phone.

“Honey, what’s wrong?”

Andrew leaned closer, noticing her displeasure, and kissed her cheek, saying, “Honey, tell me.”

Some men had a way of being irresistibly charming when acting affectionate, especially someone like Andrew.

Isabella disliked leaving matters unresolved, so she took a deep breath and asked, “Why did you…” Before she could finish, Isabella cut herself off. It made her seem too eager.

However, Andrew grasped what she meant. He wrapped his arms around her and said, “I think we should save this time together for wedding night.”

Isabella hadn’t expected him to think that way. She looked at Andrew, visibly touched, and whispered, “But won’t you be uncomfortable?”

“It doesn’t matter,” Andrew said as he kissed her forehead. “I love you.”

Isabella felt her heart warm with love. She embraced him softly. He was the finest man she had ever met.

Later that evening, they headed to the restaurant Norton had chosen. The whole restaurant was reserved for them, leaving the vast hall empty except for their group.

Wesley and Jada were already there when Isabella and Andrew arrived. Jada’s eyes showed a flicker of admiration as she looked at Andrew, dressed casually yet handsomely in black. Her expression turned painful when she saw Isabella.

Wesley noticed Jada’s emotional shift and felt compassion for her. He couldn’t fathom why Andrew wasn’t drawn to Jada, given her kindness.

Wesley said with a touch of animosity to Isabella, “Jada has started her own business, and her perfume is selling well. She’s really a remarkable businesswoman. By the way, Isabella, aren’t you planning to start your own business? I heard that Edge Entertainment is being heavily targeted by Global Entertainment. How long can you last?”

“Don’t worry. As long as you’re still around, we should manage just fine,” Isabella replied with a smile.

Wesley’s expression darkened. He felt mocked! Noticing Andrew’s icy gaze, he felt a shiver, but he managed to say, “Andrew, regardless of what you say, in my eyes, only Jada is truly suited for you. She is beautiful and kind-hearted!” The mood suddenly grew tense!

Jada quickly interjected, “Wesley, that’s enough!”

Andrew’s expression turned even sterner. Isabella gently touched the back of his hand and said deliberately to Wesley, “Does Andrew really need your help choosing whom to love?”

“I want what’s best for Andrew. You’re not helping him in any way,” Wesley retorted loudly.

Andrew said coldly, “Even if Isabella were just an ordinary person, I would still love her. Wesley, if you continue like this, I don’t want to see you anymore!”

Wesley was shaken and fell silent, yet he felt deeply wronged.

Just then, Norton arrived. Noticing the tense mood, he grasped his girlfriend’s hand, sat down, and tried to lighten the mood, saying, “What’s going on here? Was there a disagreement? I finally bring my girlfriend here to meet everyone, and you’re arguing? Please, let’s all calm down!”

Wesley drew in a long breath and said, “We weren’t arguing. Howard, is she your girlfriend? Why is she still wearing that hat and mask indoors?” Wesley glanced at the woman, puzzled.

The woman removed her hat and mask, revealing a stunningly radiant face. Isabella nearly choked on her water in surprise. Was that Maxine? Or was she seeing things? With a bright smile, Maxine introduced herself, “Hi, everyone, I’m Maxine.”

What a bitch! Jada swore internally but still managed to keep a smile on her face. “Wow, Norton, you’re a lucky guy! She’s much prettier than your past girlfriends,” she said with a grin.

Maxine glanced at Norton, recalling how he had told her she was his first love.

Norton quickly waved his hands. “Jada, quit joking around. I never had a girlfriend before.”

“Oops, my mistake,” Jada said, covering her mouth. “Just kidding! Ha-ha, go ahead, Maxine, pick something.” Maxine gave a nod in agreement.

Wesley muttered under his breath, “Yeah, Norton had a thing for Jada back then and never had a girlfriend.”

“Wesley, what are you blabbing about?” Norton said, clearly irritated.

“Oh, come on, everyone knows it. We’re all friends. Maxine won’t mind, right? We’re just chatting,” Wesley shrugged.

This was the first time Norton really wanted to punch Wesley.

“Wesley…” Jada sighed. She turned to Maxine, faking concern. “Maxine, we’ve known each other since we were kids. We joke like this all the time. You don’t mind, do you?”

“Not at all,” Maxine replied with a smile as she intertwined her fingers with Norton’s, making him grin like a fool.

Wesley was amazed. He’d never seen this side of Norton before. But Maxine really did resemble Jada. Could it be true that Norton saw Maxine as a stand-in for Jada, as Jada had mentioned?

Wesley quietly kept watching the situation unfold. After Norton and Maxine joined the conversation, the atmosphere gradually became more lively, and Jada kept reminiscing about their childhood days.

Wesley chuckled. “Norton was so worried about Jada back then. She only had a fever, but he skipped school to take care of her.”

Jada smiled and said, “I was pretty weak back then, so Norton worried about me.”

“How come Norton never fussed over me? He was always hanging around you back in those days,” Wesley said.

Norton scratched his head, feeling awkward. “It was mostly because my mom told me to look out for Jada. You know, she’s one of a kind in our group.”

“Wait, so your mom really liked Jada a lot, huh?” Wesley said with a grin. “I think she wanted Jada to be her daughter-in-law. Honestly, I’m just too young for her.”

Norton sensed that something was off with the conversation, though he couldn’t quite pinpoint it. He stayed quiet and simply passed some food to Maxine. Isabella quickly caught on to their thoughts and smirked inwardly. She figured Jada had always treated everyone like her backup option, and now, with Norton in a relationship, she was stirring the pot.

Feigning innocence, Isabella spoke up, “You’re not that young, Wesley. Relationships with older women are all the rage these days, aren’t they? I’m totally on board with it! You and Jada grew up together—you know her better than anyone else. When it comes to being with her, you’re way ahead of the game.”

Wesley was taken aback. He’d always felt too young to be a match for Jada, but Isabella’s words sparked a different feeling in him.

Jada quickly jumped in, saying, “We’re just friends. I see Wesley more like a little brother.”

Isabella tilted her head in confusion. “Oh? And what about Norton then?”

“Norton? He’s more like a big brother to me,” Jada replied softly, giving Norton a look so tender it would have melted any man’s heart.

“I get it now,” Isabella continued. “Wesley, you really should stop teasing Norton about liking Jada. His girlfriend is sitting right here, after all. Maybe it’s because you like Jada that you think everyone else does too. Work on yourself, and who knows, maybe you and Jada would make a perfect pair.” She smiled sweetly.

There was a brief glimmer of cunning in Isabella’s eyes. Noticing this, Andrew chuckled and said in a deep voice, “Exactly. Wesley, don’t let the one you truly like slip away. I’ve got your back.”

Suddenly, the whole conversation seemed to turn into a plan to match Wesley and Jada together.

Jada was uncomfortable with how this situation was unfolding. She had always prided herself on being graceful and above it all. Aside from Andrew, she couldn’t imagine being romantically linked with anyone since no one else measured up to him.

Wesley was a good guy, no doubt about it. He came from the Lambert family, but he was just too young. Plus, with his older brother in line, he might never even take over the family business.

But Isabella’s words hit differently for Wesley.

Wesley really did like Jada. She stood out from all the other women to him—kind, generous, smart, and most importantly, she knew how to race.

He’d always believed his feelings for Jada were more like those for a big sister, but after hearing Isabella’s words, he found himself feeling dazed and uncertain.
