“That’s good to hear,” Isabella said, breathing a sigh of relief. It seemed that the medicine had truly worked.

With a faint smile at the corners of his mouth, Andrew said, “The medicine for your condition has been developed. Grandpa, you’ll be just fine.”

“Really? So soon?” Damari asked, surprised. “Then I truly need to thank the medical staff. Which lab do they work for?”

Isabella stayed silent, so Andrew responded, “It’s my lab.”

Damari’s surprise deepened, but he soon realized that he wouldn’t have received such precious medicine if the lab weren’t Andrew’s. It became clear that Andrew had been dedicated to researching and developing medicines specifically for him all these years.

“You! Why didn’t you let me know what you’ve been doing?” Damari’s heart ached for Andrew. He realized that Andrew had been shouldering the burden of managing both the company and the lab while never revealing how difficult it was for him.

“Grandpa, you’ve done so much for me. This was the least I could do,” Andrew said, smiling as he looked at Damari. “As long as you’re okay.”

Isabella watched the grandfather and grandson, touched by their relationship. This was a rare moment when Andrew let down all his guards, wasn’t it? She quietly got up and left the ward, giving them their moment.

“Isabella?” a familiar voice called out. Glenn and Elaine arrived, and Elaine asked, “I heard Damari had another relapse. How is he?”

“The medicine was produced. Damari is doing fine now,” Isabella replied.

“Really? That’s wonderful news. God bless Damari,” Elaine said with excitement.

Isabella nodded in agreement. The crisis had finally passed. For the next few days, Isabella and Andrew visited Damari daily. Damari continued to improve, and half a month later, he was finally discharged from the hospital.

Damari expressed his gratitude to the Patton family for their visits and invited them for dinner at his home. During the dinner, Damari suddenly said, “Andrew and Isabella have been together for a while now. Glenn, do you think they could get married soon?”

At this, Isabella’s face flushed red. She glanced at Andrew.

Glenn stalled and replied, “It’s up to them. We have no objections.”

Andrew said, “It’s up to Isabella. I’m ready whenever she is.”

Elaine and Glenn looked at Andrew with increased satisfaction upon hearing this. But Isabella felt immense pressure. Did this mean everything rested on her?

Under everyone’s gaze, Isabella responded hesitantly, “I’m also ready at any time.”

“Really? How about by the end of the year?” Damari chuckled. “You could get engaged first before setting the wedding date!”

With a tender look in his eyes, Andrew gazed at Isabella. She nodded and replied, “Okay.”

“Haha! Andrew, you better treat Isabella well. If not, I’ll be the first to get angry,” Damari said. “This afternoon, you should spend time with Isabella. That’s the point of being young—enjoy each other’s company.”

“Sure,” Andrew replied.

During the meal, the butler approached Damari and said, “Isabella, I don’t have much to offer. Here’s something for you. Please sign it.”

When Isabella glanced at it, she was stunned. It was five percent of the shares of Klein Group. Given the Klein Group’s market value, five percent of its shares were worth tens of billions. Damari’s generosity was astounding.

“Damari, this is too much. I can’t accept it,” Isabella said, quickly handing back the contract.

“It’s no big deal. Since you two are together, the Klein Group will be yours eventually. I want to give it to anyone else,” Damari stated firmly.

Elaine and Glenn glanced at the contract and started to understand what was going on. Shares were crucial for a company, and it was clear that Damari didn’t see them as outsiders—he was actually giving the shares to Isabella.

“Damari, Isabella is still young. Don’t overwhelm her. You can give it to her after they’re married,” Glenn said kindly.

“What’s the difference, really? In my eyes, we’re family now. If you refuse, it means you don’t see me as your grandfather,” Damari said with a playful grin.

Andrew patted Isabella’s hand and added, “Since Grandpa has decided to give it to you, you should sign it.”

“No, it’s too much,” she insisted. She could accept money or other gifts, but shares carried too much significance.

“If you don’t sign it, I’ll be upset. And if I’m upset, I won’t be able to take my medicine,” Damari said, playing his trump card.

“Damari!” Isabella said, feeling anxious.

“Just sign it already. I’ve made up my mind to give them to you. Do you think they’re not good enough?” How could she think they were not good enough? Isabella felt helpless. Glenn could see that Damari was resolute about giving the shares to Isabella, so he gave her a nod of agreement.

Damari had already made his stance clear; it would be ungracious to refuse now. In the end, Isabella had no choice but to sign the document.

Damari was pleased, knowing that Isabella would be less inclined to part ways with Andrew. He was well aware of Isabella’s sense of responsibility. Now that she had the Klein Group’s shares, even if they had arguments in the future, it would be hard for them to separate.

He acknowledged that his actions were somewhat selfish, but he needed to make a solid plan for Andrew after his near-death experience.

Following dinner, Damari drove Andrew and Isabella out. The couple hadn’t shopped for a while, so they decided to visit the Prcas Mall. Such leisurely time was a rare treat for them, and Isabella savored the relaxed atmosphere of spending time together as a couple.

“These couple’s outfits look fantastic, don’t you think?” Isabella said as she admired the suits, clearly liking them.

“Wrap up all these clothes for me.” An imperious and commanding voice cut through, and the saleswoman rushed to pack the clothes without delay. Andrew made sure all the items Isabella had shown interest in would be packed up.

“Oh, Miss Fernandez, your generosity is unmatched!”

“Miss Fernandez, what’s your secret? You look even more radiant today.”

“I’m so jealous, Miss Fernandez! Is your new play about to be released?”

Isabella scanned the gathering crowd and spotted Tatiana among them. Today, Tatiana was a far cry from her previous despondency; she was vibrant, dressed in the latest fashion, and flaunting the key to her Porsche. She seemed to have regained her old carefree attitude from her best days and appeared even more arrogant than before.

Tatiana gave Isabella a dismissive look and said with a smirk, “Oh, you like this dress? Why don’t you kneel and beg, and I’ll let you have it?”

Such arrogance!

Andrew stood next to Isabella. Someone recognized him and hesitated to even take a deep breath.

Isabella raised an eyebrow and inquired, “Seems like you’re enjoying life lately?”

With a smug smile, Tatiana replied, “Disappointed? Did you think I’d be ruined without Howard? Sorry to disappoint, but I’m actually doing better than ever.”

“Congratulations,” Isabella replied calmly. “Who have you charmed this time?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.” Tatiana’s pride was palpable, her tone sharper than ever. “Isabella, if you apologize now, I might just forgive your past mistakes!”

Isabella felt like she didn’t recognize Tatiana at all. Even if Tatiana was with Hector, she shouldn’t have acted like this, right? After all, Hector was only the vice president of the Patton Group.

Isabella pondered this change.

Seeing Isabella remain silent, Tatiana assumed she was intimidated and grew even bolder, saying, “Isabella, don’t you believe me? I’m telling you, everything you have will vanish like smoke within a few months!” After making her statement, Tatiana strutted away with her entourage of bodyguards in tow. Her departure sparked lively chatter among the onlookers.

“What is Tatiana seeing these days? She’s completely changed! Did you see what she was wearing? Such finery is beyond the reach of ordinary wealthy ladies.”

“It looks like Tatiana has really landed on her feet. I think I’ll keep my distance from now on.”

“Tatiana is so bold now. How can she speak to Isabella like that? Who’s backing her?”

Not just Isabella, but Andrew was intrigued. She couldn’t help but speculate—had Tatiana moved on from Hector to someone more influential?

Once Isabella and Andrew entered a caf?, she immediately contacted one of her subordinates. “I’ve kept tabs on Tatiana lately. She’s still with Hector,” her subordinate said.

Narrowing her eyes, Isabella responded, “Alright, keep me posted on any developments.”

“Tatiana’s become too full of herself. It seems Hector’s influence extends beyond the Patton Group to other sectors as well,” Andrew said.

“I agree.” Isabella pulled out a pair of earphones, handing one to Andrew. He inserted it into his ear, and Isabella played a recording.

“Ah, Mr. Lyons, hello.” It was Tatiana’s voice. “What? Tatiana? Why are you working here?” It was Hector.

“I had no other option…” Tatiana’s voice broke with sobs. They conversed for an extended period. Moved by sympathy, Hector offered Tatiana a sum of money. Initially hesitant, Tatiana ultimately accepted after Hector persisted.

A new scenario unfolded.
