Tatiana’s anger flared. In a fit of rage, she threw the shopping bags she had been holding onto the floor. “If that’s what you think, why did you have me buy these things for you? Do you have no shame at all?” Her voice shook with fury. “This is too much, even for you!”

Elaine, who rarely raised her voice, snapped, “How dare you talk to me like that? You left my son! And now you are trying to win me over? You’re nothing but a pathetic fool!” Her words were venomous, cutting deeper than Tatiana had anticipated.

Elaine stepped closer, her eyes burning with disdain. “If you keep forcing yourself into my family’s life, I swear I will never show you mercy.” With that, Elaine turned and walked away, leaving Tatiana standing in shock, the chill of rejection settling over her like ice.

Days passed, and soon the day of the skincare product launch arrived. Many beauty brands released their fall collections during this period. Among them, Natural Beauty, in partnership with the Riggs Group, and Migge Skincare, also cooperating with the Riggs Group, were the most talked about, as both were set to unveil their new lines on the same day. In the days leading up to the launch, Migge Skincare had dominated the advertising scene.

Jada, determined to win the competition, had strategically given her new products to influential friends, many of whom came from wealthy families with significant followings. Their posts about the products quickly gained traction, boosting Migge Skincare’s visibility further.

On top of that, Jada had poured a substantial budget into the marketing campaign. Her investment paid off, drawing enormous attention to Migge Skincare. By the time the launch day arrived, the curiosity surrounding their products had reached a fever pitch.

As expected, Migge Skincare’s new products flew off the shelves, selling out almost immediately. In stark contrast, Susan and Natural Beauty took a more understated approach. They opted for publicity, keeping their campaign low-key. While their products were also selling steadily, their sales numbers were dwarfed by the explosive success of Migge Skincare.

Within the office, Jada’s status skyrocketed. Everyone used to whisper behind her back that she was a bit manipulative, but lately, no one seemed to care. After all, what did it matter if she was a little scheming? She was undeniably capable. And more importantly, she was Esteban’s favored daughter, the one most likely to inherit the Riggs Group. Siding with her now seemed like the best bet.

“Jada, your new products have flown off the shelves!”

“Jada, you’re brilliant!”

“Well, what do you expect? She studied abroad. It’s no surprise she’s so extraordinary. Here, Jada, I bought you your favorite coffee!”

Many colleagues showered Jada with gifts, compliments, and admiration. With her impeccable manners, Jada accepted each gesture with a gracious smile. Her polished charm and poised demeanor made it easy for people to forget—or perhaps ignore—her ambition that had, in the past, left them uneasy.

“Jada’s a sweetheart! I don’t think she’s arrogant at all. Whatever happened before, I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding.”

“Did you hear that Susan used to bully Jada? No wonder there is tension between them.”

“I guess that explains why Jada treated her like that!”

The office atmosphere shifted. Jada, with her newfound support, was the golden child, while Susan was slowly being edged out—an outsider in her own father’s company. Conversations grew colder around Susan, her presence barely acknowledged, as if she were a shadow that no one cared to notice.

But Susan? She couldn’t have cared less.

“Susan, would you like some?” Jada’s voice was sugar-coated as she placed a pile of snacks she had received onto Susan’s desk. “I’ve gotten so much, I can’t possibly eat it all. Please, help yourself! And don’t feel too down about your little setback. You know what they say—failure is the stepping stone to success.”

Susan’s eyes flickered up, locking onto Jada, and she let out a cold, sarcastic smirk. “Failure? What makes you think I failed?”

Jada’s smile never faltered, though the sharpness in her gaze hinted at something more. “Well, your sales barely scratched the surface—what, a few tens of thousands? Meanwhile, Migge Skincare pulled off two hundred thousand on launch day alone. We’ve sold out and are scrambling to replenish stock.”

With a delicate smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes, Jada added, “I understand that Migge Skincare didn’t perform well before, but thanks to me, they’ve been revived.”

A colleague sitting nearby, eager to join the conversation, chimed in. “Oh, absolutely, Jada! Everyone’s talking about how amazing our company looks now, all thanks to you. Honestly, I didn’t get why you chose to work with Migge Skincare at first, but I see—you love a challenge! The way people are praising us now, it’s only a matter of time before you’re promoted.”

Jada responded with practiced modesty, tilting her head. “Oh, the promotion doesn’t matter. My only concern is bringing success to the company.”

Susan watched Jada’s gentle facade with disdain, her every word dripping with hypocrisy. She didn’t want to engage, but Jada, ever the performer, wasn’t finished. “I’ll leave these snacks here for you, Susan,” Jada said sweetly. “Don’t stress too much about the sales. Even though your numbers are… well, a little low, Dad won’t be too upset with you.”

The implication hung in the air, a reminder of failure, someone who couldn’t measure up.

Susan’s eyes narrowed, her tone sharp as a blade. “You’re proud of those sales? They’re built on nothing but hype. Have you even covered the costs of all that over-the-top publicity?”

Jada didn’t miss a beat, her smile unwavering. “Oh, it wasn’t costly at all. My friends did most of the advertising. You could’ve done the same… unless, of course, Isabella’s grip is giving you the cold shoulder?”

That landed like a punch to the gut. Susan clenched her fists, her flushing with anger. She bit back a retort. Jada’s sharp eyes caught the reaction, confirming her suspicion that Susan had fallen out with Isabella.

Satisfied, Jada smiled and walked away, victory in her step.

With an air of confidence, she collected a selection of skincare products given by Josie. She admired them for a moment before heading off toward the Klein Group. As she approached Andrew’s office door, about to knock, she froze. From inside, she heard a voice—soft, too gentle to be Andrew’s usual commanding tone.

Andrew was always distant. Even when he was with Damari, his demeanor was more polite than tender. However, his tenderness was so profound that it could overflow at any moment, carrying a hint of coquettishness.

“Okay, can’t you spare me just a few more minutes? Please, just five minutes?”

Jada peeked through the door and saw Andrew on the phone. Who could he be calling? Was it Isabella?

Jada suddenly felt a wave of bitterness wash over her. Despite all the years she had spent with Andrew, she had never heard him speak with such warmth.

“Andrew?” Jada pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing her, he finished his call and hung up. This gesture comforted Jada somewhat. At least Andrew still made time for her, choosing to end his call with Isabella upon seeing her.

“What’s the matter?” Andrew’s expression remained as cold as ever. He sat there, his handsome features and distinguished demeanor unchanged.

“I brought a new set of skincare products for you to check out. They smell really nice,” Jada said, setting the skincare products down on the table.

Andrew glanced at the products. They were from Migge Skincare.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Jada said, “I might seem a bit modest for you, but they smell really good. Using products that smell nice can make you feel better.”

Just then, Andrew’s assistant entered.

He placed a set of high-end skincare products on the table and said, “Mr. Klein, here are the new products from KG for this season.”

Jada was well acquainted with KG. While studying abroad, she had known it as a top-tier brand. A set of their products would easily run over one hundred thousand dollars, and just a bottle of toner alone could cost more than ten thousand dollars. It was an elite brand, and she had always held it in high regard.

But now, this brand had sent gifts to Andrew.

Seeing her own brand beside the high-end one, Jada felt it was inadequate in comparison. Andrew typically used such high-end brands. How could he possibly appreciate Migge Skincare?

Jada smiled and said, “It looks like you already have these. I’ll take these back then. Migge Skincare really isn’t a good fit for you.”

Andrew nodded in agreement.

Jada chatted with him briefly and left once she noticed Andrew was occupied.

Glancing at the KG skincare products, Andrew instructed, “Give them to Isabella.”

“What about you, Mr. Klein?”

Andrew retrieved a set of skincare products from his drawer, marked with the Natural Beauty logo, and said, “I have my own.”

The assistant realized that Andrew was likely flaunting his affection. He rejected Migge Skincare products but privately bought Natural Beauty’s. Wasn’t this for Isabella?

“Mr. Klein, Miss Patton’s products are certainly top-notch, but you always use KG. It might not be ideal to switch to a new brand all of a sudden,” the assistant whispered.

“You can try them,” Andrew said. “Go to the personnel department to collect them.”

The assistant was taken aback. “What?”

“Everyone gets a set of these products; it’s part of the employee benefits!”

The assistant was left speechless. It was an excessively dramatic gesture of affection. Nevertheless, the assistant eagerly went to collect the products since they were free. Upon opening the cream, he was greeted by a refreshing scent that, though subtle, instantly had a calming effect.

The office buzzed with conversations about it.

“The scent is unique. I feel rejuvenated and focused.”

“I purchased Migge Skincare products before discovering the Natural Beauty gift from our company. I regret buying them now.”

“How is Migge Skincare’s? I’ve heard they’re quite popular.”

“Oh, they do smell nice. But when I tried the Natural Beauty products, I realized they were just average. Although Migge Skincare products are pricier, their scent doesn’t match that of Natural Beauty products.”

Everyone was enthusiastic and agreed that Natural Beauty products were excellent.

Holding the gift box, the assistant felt very pleased. He was relieved he hadn’t bought Migge Skincare products; it would have been a waste of money.

A few days later, he was amazed to discover that not only was the fragrance of Natural Beauty products wonderful, but their effects were impressive too. The assistant couldn’t resist sharing his experience online.
