As they left, Jada sighed and said, “Take good care of him if you marry Andrew.” Those who didn’t know her might actually believe that Jada was a Klein.

“So, how have you been lately?” Isabella asked with indifference.

“I’m still working on the fragrance formulation, and it’s almost finished. The new products we’ve collaborated on with the Reed family are about to hit the market. I hear Susan’s also nearly ready on her end,” Jada said softly, glancing at Isabella. “Isabella, what’s your plan? Susan’s putting in a lot of effort, but she’s still an amateur. I’m worried she might tarnish your company’s reputation.”

Isabella responded with a look of disdain, “I certainly won’t allow her to affect our reputation.”

“It appears she plans to submit her samples to Natural Beauty tomorrow,” Jada replied with a satisfied look.

“Is that so? I see,” Isabella said softly.

Jada gazed up at the night sky, which was beautifully clear, her eyes reflecting her delight. After a moment, she turned and headed back to the Riggs family’s home.

Mara rushed up and asked, “How’s everything going in the hospital?”

“Not too bad. I had a nice chat with Damari,” Jada replied with a smile.

“Aren’t you ashamed?” A voice laced with sarcasm came from behind.

When Susan returned and overheard their conversation, she felt repulsed. “Andrew’s with Isabella, yet you still try to cling to him. How shameless can you be? Do you really want to be a side chick that badly?”

Jada’s face flushed with embarrassment. Mara retorted, “Susan, how can you speak like that? She’s your sister!”

“Since she’s my sister, I need to correct her behavior,” Susan said, looking down at Jada since she was a bit taller. “I suggest you forget about Andrew. You wouldn’t want everyone to find out you’re trying to steal someone else’s boyfriend, would you?”

Jada’s anger made her chest rise and fall sharply. Then a thought struck her, and she sneered. “Susan, does Isabella still hang out with you? She doesn’t even care about you, yet you defend her. How pathetic. It looks like you haven’t learned from past experiences.”

Jada’s eyes brimmed with genuine disdain. She had always held Susan in contempt.

“This has nothing to do with others,” Susan said with a sneer. “I’m disciplining my younger sister because I don’t want you to bring shame to the Riggs family. That’s all there is to it.”

“Am I bringing shame to the Riggs family, or are you just jealous?” Jada asked. With a hint of sarcasm, she continued, “You’ll never find a guy like Andrew. Your only option is to marry someone useful for the family. What’s waiting for you is just a fat and unattractive fianc?!”

Susan gave a sneer and headed upstairs.

Watching her retreating figure, Jada asked, “Mom, how is the search for Susan’s fianc? going?”

“Since the attempt, your father has been unhappy about it. Even though he hasn’t voiced it, I can tell he’s upset. But recently, I’ve found another promising candidate—a member of the Lewis family. Though they’re not as affluent as they once were, he would still be a good match for Susan.”

“A Lewis?” Jada frowned. “Isn’t that too good for Susan?” She wished for Susan to endure constant suffering and never find happiness again.

Mara shook her head and leaned in to whisper something in Jada’s ear. As the words sank in, Jada’s face lit up with a smile. “Mom, you’re the best!”

The next day arrived with a cloudy sky. Despite the overcast weather, everyone managed to get up on time for breakfast.

Mara glanced at Susan and seemingly remarked casually, “Susan, last time it was my fault for not understanding that man’s situation clearly. This time, it’s different…”

Susan gave a mocking smirk. “Have you found someone new already?”

“Actually, Mrs. Lewis approached me this time. She mentioned how much she likes you. With all the effort you’ve put in since joining the company, it’s only natural people are starting to notice,” Mara explained. She carefully observed Esteban as she spoke, feeling a sense of relief when he showed no reaction. It seemed that the incident from last time had finally blown over, and now she was allowed to find another fianc? for Susan.

Mara grew more assertive and said, “You’re aware of the Lewis family, right? Their family was once quite powerful. While they may not hold the same influence now, they still have some clout.”

Mara turned to Esteban and added, “Darling, the elder Mr. Lewis is actually a friend of your father’s. There is no reason for Esteban to oppose such a beneficial match.”

Esteban merely glanced at Susan without offering any response. Both Mara and Jada shared a quiet chuckle, interpreting Esteban’s silence as a sign of agreement. It appeared that he didn’t care much about Susan.

Susan retorted with a sneer, “If he’s so great, why not introduce him to your own daughter instead of me, who has no blood relation to you?”

“Susan, Jada has just started working at the company and is currently focused on her career. What do you mean by blood relation? We are family now. Your well-being is important to us all,” Mara replied gently.

“I also want to be focused on my career,” Susan responded.

Jada silently chastised her but spoke to her with a gentle tone, “Susan, Mom is only doing this because she wants what’s best for you. You need to find a good husband while you’re still young; otherwise, you might miss out on the best options.”

“Then why don’t you get married?” Susan asked sarcastically as she looked at Jada.

Susan was proving to be incredibly difficult! Jada’s expression darkened. She found the situation irritating.

“It’s not that you don’t want to get married, but rather that you aim to be Andrew’s side chick?” Susan’s comment shocked everyone. Esteban’s expression grew stern. He was known for being strict with his children. If he ever discovered what Jada was contemplating, he would never let it slide.

Mara quickly interjected, “Susan, you’ve misunderstood your sister. Her focus is on working hard in the company and supporting your father. How can you think of her like that?”

“Oh, isn’t that true? She believes only Andrew is worthy of her, but she doesn’t see that he could do better. Besides, I already have a boyfriend,” Susan said, wiping her mouth nonchalantly.

She had a boyfriend?

Mara had meticulously devised this plan, only for it to crumble into failure. She couldn’t accept this.

“Susan, as a member of the Riggs family, you shouldn’t be fooled by untrustworthy and disreputable people out there.”

“Are you saying Dane is one of those untrustworthy and disreputable people?” Susan questioned, raising an eyebrow. Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit her, and she nearly threw up.

But Mara and Jada didn’t notice, as they were too stunned by the mention of Dane. Dane, the heir to the Patton Group? The Patton family and the Klein family were well matched in power. One dominated Ansport, while the other held sway over Gemond.

“Susan, is this for real? You’re joking, right?” Mara asked, her expression turning awkward. Compared to Dane, the Lewis family was insignificant.

“She’s not joking,” Esteban finally said, his voice cold. “Don’t bother finding a fianc? for her in the future.”

Mara’s breath caught, and she suddenly felt faint. Jada, too, lost her appetite for the once delicious breakfast.

Susan’s boyfriend was Dane?

Jada could hardly believe it, but knowing that Isabella was once close friends with Susan, it wasn’t entirely impossible that she’d won Dane’s heart. That shameless woman! She actually managed it. How revolting!

Jada knew she had to conceal her disgust. Forcing a smile, she said, “That’s wonderful news, Susan. Dane, as the Patton Group’s future head, is exactly the kind of person worthy of you.”

Susan smirked. “So why don’t you go ahead and marry into the Lewis family yourself?”

Jada’s smile faltered. “Susan, don’t joke like that. It’s fine for your mother to set up such a marriage for you, but…”

The tension between them was about to escalate into a full-blown argument.

“That’s enough. Let’s finish our meal,” Esteban’s words silenced the room, prompting everyone to quietly focus on their food.

Esteban gave Mara a quick look and reminded her, “Don’t forget what I told you.”

Mara bit her lip and murmured, “I won’t.”

After breakfast, Susan left for work.

As luck would have it, Dane arrived to pick her up. Watching Susan step into that sleek black Ferrari filled Jada with envy. She hadn’t even gotten close to Andrew yet, but Susan was already with Dane… How was that?

The woman Jada had looked down on since childhood had now risen to a position of importance. Jada couldn’t help but feel frustrated.

But today, Susan was in for some public embarrassment at the company, which was something Jada looked forward to. Holding onto this anticipation, Jada headed to work. Later that afternoon, Susan returned from her business negotiation.

Everyone was eager to know if Natural Beauty had agreed to use her perfume, but no one was more curious than Jada.

“‘Well, everything IS going smoothly.”

“Wow, that is fantastic!” Everyone was thrilled. Jada clenched her fists and immediately called Isabella to arrange a meeting.

Later that night, at a music-themed restaurant.

“‘Isabella?”

When Isabella arrived, she immediately noticed Jada sitting quietly, her eyes puffy and red, clearly from crying.
