“It’s alright. I don’t have any other plans,” Waylon said, easing their worries.

As the group left, tears of gratitude welled up in their eyes. Waylon was even more wonderful than they had imagined. He watched them get into a taxi, waving them off with a warm smile.

Once they were gone, Isabella’s phone buzzed with messages from her colleagues, all expressing how deeply moved they were by the evening’s events.

“They really admire you,” Isabella told Waylon.

“I truly appreciate that,” he responded, his usual carefree attitude replaced with sincerity. He then playfully tried to put his arm around Andrew’s shoulder, but realizing Andrew was taller, quickly withdrew his arm. “Long time no see, buddy. Have you moved back to Ansport?” Waylon asked.

“Yeah,” Andrew replied.

Turning to Isabella, Waylon added, “And when Andrew’s not around, make sure to take good care of yourself.”

“Got it, Waylon,” she replied with a smile.

After some pleasant conversation, they all eventually headed home. Saying goodbye to Andrew tugged at Isabella’s heart, but she had other matters to attend to. She quickly sent the concert photo to Evie.

Meanwhile, Kian, feeling unsettled after Teresa’s snide comments at the concert, decided to visit Evie instead of staying with Teresa. Evie was in the practice room, working on her acting.

Surprised to see him, Evie smiled, “I thought we weren’t having dinner together.”

Kian’s heart warmed at her happiness, though he knew he wouldn’t marry her because she was just an ordinary girl. “How could I ever break a promise?” he grinned, conveniently forgetting the many times he had done just that.

“Darling, are you done with your practice?”

“In a bit. Just wait for me,” Evie said, focused on her discipline. Kian sat by the door, waiting. While practicing, Evie checked her phone and saw Isabella’s message. She opened the photo, and a chill ran down her spine as she took in what she saw.

After what felt like an eternity, Evie finally began to regain her composure. She had always believed Kian would never cheat on her, but seeing him kiss Teresa shattered that belief. How naive she had been to think he was simply meeting a client for business.

She couldn’t comprehend why Kian would betray her. Their relationship had felt so strong and fulfilling. If he wasn’t happy with her, why hadn’t he just been honest and ended things? As these thoughts raced through her mind, her tears smeared the phone screen, overwhelming her with sadness.

Just then, Isabella sent her a message:

“Evie, it seems Kian might see Teresa as his ticket to wealth. He’s probably with her to get closer to money. You need to see him for who he really is. Teresa has provided him with a lot of business opportunities. They’ve likely been involved for a while.”

So, had Kian cheated on her for that? No wonder he had been distant lately. Evie’s heart sank, filled with sadness and disappointment. She had never expected him to act this way. While she knew that some in the entertainment industry used their bodies to advance their careers, she had always thought Kian was different. Now, she saw that the man she loved was just like those who chased after quick fame and easy rewards.

Tears streamed down her cheeks. They had been together for six months, and Evie had loved him deeply. But her love had been cruelly betrayed.

Isabella sent another message:

“Evie, I know you’re in pain, but someone like him isn’t worth your heart.”

Evie knew Isabella was right. She replied:

“I understand now. Thank you, Isabella. If you hadn’t told me, I would have stayed in the dark.”

Evie stared at her reflection in the mirror and wiped away her tears. Her eyes hardened, no longer filled with sorrow. The members of the Klein family didn’t let the pain of love consume them. She was determined to make the person who hurt her pay.

With that, Evie stepped out. Kian was on his phone when he saw her approaching. He quickly ended the call and asked, “Are you done?”

“Yes,” Evie replied, then asked casually, “Who were you talking to?”

“A client,” Kian responded.

“Which client? Let me see,” she teased. “We’ve been together for a while, and I’ve never even seen your phone.”

Kian was taken aback by her sudden request. His expression darkened as he frowned. “Evie, even though we’re together, we need some privacy. I don’t appreciate you snooping around. Do you doubt me?”

“No, not at all,” Evie replied softly. “I just wanted to see your phone. Other girlfriends probably check their boyfriends’ phones too, right?”

“That’s why I think those guys are weak,” Kian said disdainfully. “A person’s phone is private. It’s unreasonable to just show it to others.” He looked at her and added, “We’ve been together for a long time. Don’t you trust me?”

“Of course I trust you,” Evie said quietly. “I won’t insist on looking.”

Kian nodded and softened his tone. “That’s my good girl. Let’s go have dinner.”

Evie nodded, though her eyes remained cold and distant. When they arrived at the restaurant, Kian excused himself to the restroom, leaving his phone on the table. He trusted Evie completely, knowing she had never betrayed him. She even knew the password to his phone but had never used it.

Now, looking back, Evie felt utterly foolish. With a sneer, she unlocked the phone and immediately saw a flirty message from Teresa. Without hesitation, she sent Teresa a message.

When Kian returned, Evie set the phone aside and continued their conversation as if nothing had happened. Kian felt a sense of satisfaction seeing how compliant Evie was. Her complete trust in him was deeply gratifying, and he was reluctant to let go of someone who depended on him so completely.

If it weren’t for his ambitions of wealth and power… But that didn’t matter. Once he married a rich woman, he could keep Evie as his mistress. Lost in his happy daydreams, Kian was startled when the door suddenly opened and a woman walked in.

He assumed it was the waitress, but when he saw the woman’s face, his fingers shook, and the spoon slipped from his hand. What was she doing here?

“Honey, you…” Teresa began, but then she noticed another woman with Kian. Her eyes narrowed in confusion as she looked at Evie.

Evie looked just as surprised and asked, “Honey? What are you calling my boyfriend?”

“Your boyfriend?” Teresa said, disbelief evident in her voice.

“Yes, he’s my boyfriend,” Evie replied, feigning shock.

Sweat dripped down Kian’s forehead. He hadn’t anticipated this confrontation. As the two women stared at him, he scrambled to think of a plan. He quickly moved to Teresa’s side and whispered, “Teresa, Evie is just a friend. I came to congratulate her on winning the singing competition.”

“Really?” Teresa asked, still suspicious. “Then why did she say you were her boyfriend?”

“She’s had a crush on me for a while,” Kian sighed. “I was planning to set things straight today and let her know you’re my girlfriend.”

Teresa seemed to accept this explanation. After all, Kian was handsome and successful—it made sense that another woman might have feelings for him. Teresa immediately adopted an arrogant demeanor, looking down at Evie.

“Evie, Kian is my boyfriend. I suggest you keep your distance from him,” Teresa said smugly.

Evie glanced at Kian, feeling as though her heart was being ripped apart. She never imagined he would choose Teresa so quickly between them. She and Kian had been together for six months! How long had he even known Teresa? Just as Isabella had warned her, Kian was only interested in wealth and power.

But today, Evie was determined to expose Kian for who he truly was. She stood up, unlocked her phone, and scrolled through her chat history with Kian, all the way back to six months ago.

“Teresa, Kian and I have been dating for six months!” she declared. Teresa’s face turned pale as she stared at the chat history, realization dawning on her. Had she unknowingly been the other woman all along? She turned to Kian, her eyes blazing with anger. “Kian, how could you deceive me like this?”

Evie watched Kian with cold detachment. She had invited Teresa here to unmask him and prevent her from being misled any further. She despised Kian, but Teresa was innocent if she had truly been unaware.

Kian hadn’t anticipated Evie’s bold move. Confronted with the furious stares of both women, he panicked. “Teresa, trust me. I had no choice! Evie kept coming on to me and even threatened me. I only stayed with her to keep the peace!” he blurted out.

Evie nearly laughed. What a pathetic excuse! Did he really think anyone would believe that? But to her surprise, someone did.

Teresa immediately turned on Evie. “So that’s the truth! Evie, how could you stoop so low, using threats to keep Kian with you!”

Evie’s face hardened. “Teresa, you actually believe Kian? He’s lying to you!”

Kian took Teresa’s hand, trying to soothe her. “Teresa, I swear I’m telling the truth. My feelings for you are real! From the moment I saw you, I fell in love with you.” He then turned to Evie. “Evie, I only stayed with you because I was scared of your emotional instability. But now, I have someone else to care for. I’m sorry, but we’re done.”

Evie was speechless. He was completely delusional! Absolutely repulsive! She couldn’t believe she had ever loved such a jerk.

Smack! Evie slapped Kian hard across the face. “Kian, you bastard! Do you think your pathetic lies will make me forget everything? Just wait. I’ll make sure everyone knows who you really are!”

“Stop!” Teresa stepped in front of Kian, looking at Evie with contempt. “Evie, you’re nothing special. Kian was doing you a favor by being with you, and now you repay him with harm? How vile! I’m giving you one chance: leave now and stay away from Kian, or I’ll make sure you regret it.”

Kian, now fuming after the slap, turned to Evie. “Evie, Teresa is from the Patton family. You better leave now before you cause more trouble!”

“She’s from the Patton family?” Evie couldn’t help but laugh. It was absurd. Kian believed Teresa was from the wealthy Patton family, but the real Miss Patton was Isabella!

“Kian, how do you regard the time we spent together?” Evie glared at him.

“I know it’s hard for you to let go, but you need to move on,” Kian said.

Evie’s expression darkened. “You’re delusional. I hate you now! Let me beat you up, or I’ll never forgive you!” she snapped, grabbing Kian by the hair and slapping him again. She pushed him to the ground, mercilessly slapping both his cheeks.
